Chapter 4 White Dust 1

Chapter 4 White Dust 1

◎Good people tend to be soft-hearted◎

Bai Chen transformed into a human form thousands of years ago and has been fighting among demons for hundreds of years. After he became the Demon King, no one dared to step within three feet of him. Even during the Lantern Festival when people on earth were shoulder to shoulder, no one dared to approach him.

Except for Hades and the people who came to kill him.

Although, Pluto approached him in order to kill him, that guy... was different from others after all.

So when he was walking on a country road in the middle of the night and a woman suddenly fell from the sky, he naturally thought that she was here to kill him.

He gathered strength in his fist and waited for a long time, but the woman did not move, as if...

Dead?

Was he too excited and made a mistake, falling to his death?

Um? It's moving, but it's not dead yet.

Forget it, considering that she is the first person who can get close to Pluto in the past few years since his death, he will give her a decent and happy death.

“Help…”

The moment the woman hugged his legs as if she had been granted amnesty, Bai Chen was completely stunned.

His palm was only one foot away from hitting the woman's crown, but he was so shocked by the other party's action that he stopped the movement.

Bai Chen was stunned for several breaths before he moved his legs that were held by the woman: "Who are you?"

The woman didn't move, nor did she respond to him.

Bai Chen grabbed the woman's collar from behind and lifted her up, only to find that she had fainted. His sight passed through the person swinging in his hand and fell on the hillside not far away. Two white mists like smoke balls stopped there, and he understood everything in his heart.

"It turns out that I was haunted by a ghost."

"But, do I look like a good person?"

Bai Chen wanted to just throw the person on the side of the road, but for some reason, he had an inexplicably strange feeling towards the person in front of him. But this person is not an immortal, a demon, or a ghost; he is just an ordinary mortal. Doesn't he remember what connection he had with a mere mortal?

Forget it. Looking at her twisted and deformed leg, she probably won't survive if left here.

It's just a convenience.

So he turned his head to look at the two clouds of fog and said with his thin lips: "Get lost!"

The sound was like a flying knife accompanied by a gust of wind, and it actually directly dispersed the two groups of fog!

Bai Chen put Yan Yue on the ground and released magic with both hands. Strands of red air wrapped around her whole body, and the protruding spine returned to its place, and the twisted broken leg became straight again.

It was a dark and windy night. The waiter of the inn was dozing off with his head propped up when suddenly someone knocked twice on the counter.

"Hey, hey!" The waiter came back to his senses from his sleep and responded quickly.

When the waiter saw Bai Chen's stern and cold face, he felt a chill all over his body and couldn't help but take two steps back.

Bai Chen lazily lifted his eyelids and uttered a few words: "Two upper rooms."

The waiter then let out a sigh of relief and hurriedly bowed and said, "Okay, okay!"

He took the two keys from the wall, turned around to see that there was no one behind Bai Chen, hesitated, and asked cautiously: "Do you want to open both rooms at the same time? I can open them for you when your companions come."

Bai Chen didn't say anything, but just glanced at him. The waiter slapped his lips lightly and said, "It's me who talked too much! Sir, you over here..."

The waiter stepped out from the counter while speaking. When he saw Bai Chen's feet, his eyes widened instantly. He was so scared that he leaned back. His tone changed immediately: "Please..."

It turned out that the second guest was right under his feet.

It was a woman, covered in mud, with blood stains on her ragged clothes. She looked so miserable that it was horrible to look at. At this moment, he was dragging one of his arms, lying unconscious like a corpse that had been dead for three days.

Bai Chen followed the waiter's twisted expression, glanced at the woman at his feet, and lied with his eyes open: "She fell asleep."

"Yes, yes..." The waiter forced an ugly smile, almost crying in his heart: I will believe whatever you say!

Bai Chen stepped onto the wooden stairs and suddenly felt that the person who was pulling him started to compete with him. He frowned slightly and pulled again, but still couldn't move it.

The waiter pointed at the female corpse with a trembling voice and warned: "Sir... It's over..."

Bai Chen turned around and noticed that the building was a little narrow. The woman was held by one arm by him and turned sideways with her head stuck on the bottom edge of the stair handrail.

I see.

Bai Chen bent down, grabbed Yan Yue's collar, and threw her over his shoulder like a sack.

Xiao Er felt as if all the blood in his body had frozen.

He really said that when pigs were slaughtered during the Chinese New Year, his uncle was more polite than this guest when he carried the dead pig!

Seeing the waiter standing there motionless with a look of fear on his face, Bai Chen blurted out two more words: "Go."

The waiter's legs went weak when he heard the sudden sound, and he almost fell to his knees. He quickly climbed up the stairs using his hands and feet, "Hey, this, this... this way..."

With trembling hands, he opened the two doors and the waiter stood far away.

Bai Chen threw the person onto the bed, closed the door, and walked straight into another room.

The waiter wanted to ask if there was anything else he needed, but when he saw the door close by itself without any wind, he felt the chill on his back ease a little.

Just as I was about to go downstairs, I heard a creaky sound behind me and the door seemed to open again. The chill once again climbed up his back to his ears, and the waiter broke out in a cold sweat, not daring to breathe.

With a "clang" sound, a gold ingot rolled to his feet.

The creepy voice of the man in white came from behind: "Bring some food, meat."

*

The midday sun shone into the room, Yan Yue's eyes moved slightly, and he finally woke up.

What I saw was an unfamiliar bed curtain. I tilted my head to take a quick look at my surroundings, but my neck felt as if it was broken. I raised my hand to rub my neck, but my arms and shoulders hurt even more.

It felt like every part of my body had been taken apart and then haphazardly put back together again, and nothing felt right.

In a trance, Yan Yue finally remembered that she rolled down the hillside. No wonder her whole body was in so much pain.

It seems that it was that person who saved her.

God has been kind to me after all!

Yan Yue struggled to sit up. The moment her left leg touched the ground, she felt a piercing pain that made her twitch in pain.

She used a chair as a crutch, moved to the door with difficulty, and opened it.

The waiter happened to pass by the door, and it suddenly opened. The "corpse that had been dead for three days" from last night suddenly appeared in front of him. The tea tray in his hand shook violently, and the teapot even fell over!

His heart was pounding and he stared at Yan Yue in horror.

Yan Yue looked down and noticed that he was in a mess. He smiled shyly and said, "I accidentally rolled down the hillside last night. I wonder if the young man who brought me here is still here?"

It turned out that she was not a corpse, but had just rolled down the hill and fainted. The cold-faced young man turned out to be a kind-hearted man!

The waiter put his heart at ease and said hurriedly, "The young man lives next door. He came late last night, so he must be asleep now! Is the young lady okay? It's already noon, do you want to eat something first?"

Yan Yuexin said, but I have no money! She asked tentatively: "Did the gentleman pay the room fee?"

The waiter hurriedly said, "Yes, yes! The money you paid is enough for you two to stay here for ten days or half a month!"

Yan Yue's heart instantly fell back into her stomach. "Then please bring me some food and boil a bucket of hot water. I want to take a bath."

"Okay! Please wait a moment!"

The waiter brought two dishes, one meat and one vegetable, and two plump white flour buns. Yan Yue had a hearty meal and washed off the dirt on her body. She leaned back on the bed contentedly, combing her long hair while waiting for her benefactor to wake up.

Bai Chen didn't leave the room until the evening. The waiter told Yan Yue about her lunch and bathing, and then Bai Chen knocked on Yan Yue's door.

No one answered, so he pushed the door open without hesitation.

The woman leaned against the head of the bed, her black hair spread over most of the bed, sheening like satin. His eyes rested on the scratched face and Bai Chen was stunned.

Yesterday she looked disheveled and I thought she was just an ordinary village woman. But now, although her skin is pale, it is still delicate and moist, like a spoiled daughter of a wealthy family. On the contrary, this shabby inner garment seems out of place for her.

She was taking a nap with her eyes closed, and her crow-feather eyelashes seemed to dance on her eyelids in the afterglow of the setting sun.

It's not dancing, it's that she's about to wake up.

Sure enough, after her eyelashes moved slightly a few times, they opened like a small fan, revealing two parts of tiredness, two parts of confusion, three parts of vigilance, and three parts of fear in her bright black eyes.

Bai Chen stood up to hide the unnatural look on his face: "Hey, are you awake?"

When Yan Yue saw the man in front of her, her first reaction was: There’s another ghost!

The second reaction was: This ghost is really born with a good appearance!

She looked to be in her twenties, with long black hair tied up high, and her face was full of arrogance and pride. Under the broad eyebrows, his eyes flashed with a sharp light, looking down at people condescendingly, as if asking a silent question.

Yan Yue came back to her senses under the scrutinizing gaze of the man and realized that it was still daylight. The man was dressed in white and was as handsome as a banished immortal. Her tense spirit instantly relaxed.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! How could I fall asleep..."

She stood up with the help of the bed and bowed to him respectfully: "I am Yan Yue, thank you for saving my life!"

Bai Chen didn't move, but looked her up and down, his tone full of inquiry: "What are you doing alone in the wilderness in the middle of the night, woman?"

Yan Yue didn't dare to say that she saw a ghost, so she said half-truthfully: "My family arranged a ghost marriage for me, and I was running away. It was dark and windy at night, and I didn't see the road clearly, so I fell down the hillside. Fortunately, my benefactor saved me. I am willing to work like a cow or a horse to repay my benefactor for saving my life!"

Bai Chen knew about ghost marriages and found this statement somewhat believable.

Although this kind of thing mostly happens when rich families marry poor people, a rich girl like her would not normally fall to such a state. But after all, there are powerful people above the rich, and if you are targeted by someone, there is nothing you can do even if you don't want to.

Things in the world have always been like this, and the people never fight against the officials.

But Bai Chen didn't need someone to work like a slave, so he said, "I don't need to repay you. Take care of your health, and then find a way out on your own!"

Yan Yuexin said that she finally met a good person! When she was about to thank her again, she suddenly remembered that she didn't have the talisman or the message!

After Bai Chen finished speaking, he was about to turn around, but he saw a figure flash by and saw his legs were hugged by her again!

"My benefactor! I fled in such a hurry that I didn't even have a token to prove my identity. It was really difficult for me to find a way out!"

Yan Yue’s idea is very simple. Good people are soft-hearted, and soft-hearted people are easy to talk to, so they will naturally help her more.

Bai Chen lowered his head and looked at her in surprise. Through the torn clothes, he could directly see her snow-white tender skin, which was faintly visible. He couldn't help but find it funny. This mortal woman is so bold that she actually intends to seduce him with her beauty? Innocent!

He frowned and scolded, "If you can't find a way out, what does it have to do with me? Let go!"

Yan Yue blushed, but she was thick-skinned and refused to let go, continuing to beg: "Please take me in for a while, I will serve you wholeheartedly! When I have the talisman and the letter ready, I will never bother you again!"

The whiteness of the snow made his body feel hot, so Bai Chen had no choice but to agree: "Okay, I promise you, you stand up first!"

Yan Yue was delighted, the bet was right!

Good people are indeed prone to being soft-hearted!
