Chapter 127 Want to escape~

Chapter 127 Want to escape~

When Wei Wuxian awoke, it was already noon outside the window. Sunlight shone through the gauze, casting mottled shadows on the bed. The room was so quiet that he could hear his own breathing.

He moved his fingers, only to feel a soreness all over his body. The severe pain from last night seemed like a nightmare, yet it left a clear mark on every part of his body. He tilted his head and saw a bowl of warm medicine on the bedside table, and a dish of preserved fruit next to it—something Jun Wu had sent.

But none of these could warm his homesick heart.

"Brother..." Wei Wuxian called out in a hoarse voice.

Xie Lian responded by walking in from the outer hall, holding a bowl of porridge. "Awake? How are you feeling?"

Wei WuXian didn't answer, but simply stared at him intently, his eyes filled with pleading, "Brother, please let me go."

Xie Lian paused as he scooped the porridge and sighed, "Ah Xian, you're not feeling well..."

"I'm fine!" Wei Wuxian interrupted him hurriedly, struggling to sit up, but was held down by Xie Lian.

“Lie down.” Xie Lian placed the bowl of porridge on the bedside table and sat down beside the bed. “I know you miss home, but Daddy is doing this for your own good.”

“You should let me go back for my own good!” Wei Wuxian’s voice was filled with tears. “Lan Zhan and Si Zhui are still waiting for me. They can’t find me, so they must be so worried!”

He grabbed Xie Lian's hand, his fingertips icy cold. "Brother, you love me the most, right? Can you help me find a way to get out? Just this once, and I promise to come back after seeing them. I won't run around!"

Xie Lian looked at his reddened eyes and the despair beneath them, and something tugged at his heart. He recalled his own helplessness when he was banished to the mortal world. He understood the longing and concern he felt.

“This…” Xie Lian hesitated. He knew Jun Wu’s temper well. If he found out Wei Wuxian had escaped, he would be furious.

“Brother—” Wei WuXian dragged out his words like a spoiled kitten, “Please…”

Xie Lian looked at him like this, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He sighed and lowered his voice, "Do you really want to leave?"

Wei Wuxian’s eyes lit up instantly, and he nodded vigorously: “I do!”

“But…” Xie Lian frowned. “Father has the South Heaven Gate guarded very closely, and with those immortal generals patrolling, there’s no way we can get out.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Hua Cheng walked in from outside, playing with a folding fan in his hand, looking at them with a half-smile: "What are you whispering about?"

Wei Wuxian immediately shut his mouth and avoided looking around like a thief who had been caught.

Xie Lian glanced at Hua Cheng helplessly: "Did you hear everything?"

Hua Cheng raised an eyebrow. "If you want to hear it, you can hear it." He walked to the bedside and his eyes fell on Wei Wuxian. "You want to run away?"

Wei WuXian felt a little uneasy when he looked at him, but he still nodded bravely: "I want to go home."

"Just the two of you?" Hua Cheng sneered, his tone filled with undisguised sarcasm. "Don't you know Jun Wu's methods? Forget about running away. I'm afraid he'll catch you as soon as you reach the corridor."

Wei Wuxian was choked and speechless, but he had to admit that he was right. Jun Wu's cultivation was unfathomable, and trying to slip away from under his nose was harder than ascending to heaven.

He hung his head like a deflated ball, and his eyes began to turn red again.

Xie Lian couldn't bear to see him like this, so he pulled Hua Cheng's sleeve and signaled with his eyes that he shouldn't be so blunt.

Hua Chenghui held his hand and said to Wei Wuxian, "It's not that I can't, it's just..."

“Just what?” Wei Wuxian immediately raised his head, hope rekindled in his eyes.

Hua Cheng looked at him and said slowly, "I'm afraid I'm the only one who can enter and leave the Heavenly Palace freely without being noticed by Jun Wu."

Wei WuXian was stunned: "You?"

"Sanlang's title of Blood Rain Scholar isn't earned for nothing," Xie Lian explained. "He can come and go freely in the Three Realms. Father's restrictions are useless to him."

Wei Wuxian's eyes grew brighter, and he looked at Huacheng, his tone flattering: "Brother..."

Hua Cheng raised an eyebrow but said nothing, obviously waiting for his next words.

“Brother, can you help me?” Wei Wuxian lowered his posture and smiled obediently. “Look at my body, I can’t be struggling for long. I just want to go back to see them. I will come back immediately after seeing them. I won’t cause you any trouble!”

Hua Cheng looked at him, then saw the expectation in Xie Lian's eyes, and a meaningful smile appeared on the corner of his mouth: "It's not impossible to help you."

"Really?" Wei Wuxian asked in surprise.

"But I have a condition." Huacheng said.

"What conditions? You tell me!" Wei Wuxian agreed without hesitation. As long as he could go back, he would accept not just one condition, but ten.

Hua Cheng looked at Xie Lian with gentle eyes, "After this is done, brother must accompany me to the ghost market and live there for a month. You are not allowed to bring anyone else with you."

Xie Lian was stunned for a moment, then smiled helplessly, "Okay, as you say."

Wei WuXian finally realized he was being used as a bargaining chip. He looked at the couple in front of him, oblivious to the world around them, displaying their affection. He silently rolled his eyes, but still managed a smile. "No problem, no problem! Not to mention a month, even a year is fine!"

Hua Cheng smiled with satisfaction, put away his folding fan, and tapped Wei Wuxian on the head: "You're sensible."

He stood up, walked to the window, looked at the immortal servants patrolling outside, and lowered his voice: "Tonight at three o'clock, I will wait for you at the back wall of Lezhi Palace. Remember, don't alarm anyone, especially Jun Wu."

“Okay!” Wei Wuxian nodded vigorously, almost jumping out of bed with excitement.

"Also," Hua Cheng glanced back at him with a serious look in his eyes, "You are weak, so follow me when the time comes. Don't run around. Otherwise, if anything goes wrong, I won't be responsible."

"I understand!" Wei Wuxian agreed obediently.

Xie Lian looked at them, feeling a mixture of nervousness and anticipation. He tucked in the corners of Wei Wuxian's blanket, "Then you should get some rest first. Regain your energy so you'll have the strength to run tonight."

"Um!"

Xie Lian and Hua Cheng left, and the hall returned to silence. Wei Wuxian leaned against the headboard, looking out the window at the sunlight, his lips curled up uncontrollably.

go home.

He can finally go home.

Although he knew it was risky, and that if Jun Wu discovered him, the consequences would be disastrous, he couldn't care less. He just wanted to fly to Lan Wangji immediately, tell him that he was fine, and tell Si Zhui that his father was back.

Wei Wuxian lay back on the bed, closed his eyes, and tried to gather his strength.

Night gradually fell, and the candlelight flickered in the Lezhi Hall. Wei Wuxian changed into light clothes and wrapped a thick cloak tightly around him. His heart was pounding with a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

As soon as the third watch clapper rang, a very light whistle was heard outside the window.

Wei Wuxian took a deep breath, tiptoed to the window, and pushed it open a crack.

Hua Cheng's figure disappeared into the night, and he gestured to him to "follow him".

Wei Wuxian gritted his teeth, flipped out of the window, and landed steadily on the ground.

"Let's go." Hua Cheng whispered, turned around and walked towards the path behind the palace.

Wei Wuxian followed closely behind him, his steps so light he dared not breathe. Moonlight shone through the gaps in the leaves, illuminating the road ahead and the anticipation in his eyes.

Lan Zhan, Si Zhui, I'm back.
