Chapter Thirty-Three: The Yandere Second Prince

Hui Meiren's eyes lit up. She had always loved that jade headdress, but had never had the nerve to ask for it.

Unexpectedly, it came so easily today. Suppressing his excitement, he looked at Wen Changle, who was smiling gently.

"This, sister, I can't accept this."

Wen Changle gave a reproachful look, "There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Just accept it, little sister. It would be like being a stranger to your older sister if you didn't."

Granny Cai was a perceptive woman; as soon as her mistress spoke, she ordered someone to bring up the set of jade jewelry.

At this moment, Wen Changle waved his hand, and Granny Cai stepped forward with the jadeite headdress set. Consort Hui truly loved this headdress.

At this moment, her still reddened eyes were fixed on the jade headdress and couldn't look away. "Then, then I'll thank you for your reward, sister."

Wen Changle smiled and said nothing. Although he looked down on Hui Meiren, he didn't show it at all. There would always be a time when such a brainless person could be useful.

After Consort Hui happily took the jade headdress and left Ronghua Palace with her personal maid,

The gentle demeanor on Wen Changle's face vanished completely, replaced by undisguised disgust. Granny Cai understood immediately.

With a wave of her hand, a palace maid who had been waiting behind the screen stepped forward, carrying a bowl of warm water with rose petals in it.

Wen Changle put his hands in warm water for a while before taking them out, feeling they were clean.

Granny Cai stepped forward and carefully wiped Wen Changle's hands. "Your Highness, are we just going to let this matter go like this?"

"The eldest prince won't be staying in the palace for long, so let the little bastard have a few days of fun first. There's no rush."

Although her maternal family was not afraid of Helian Yi's ancestral family, it was ultimately unnecessary to make enemies with a high-ranking official.

"Yes, this old servant understands," replied Granny Cai.

She had watched her own mistress grow up, and she knew her mistress's temperament better than anyone. She was determined to get revenge for any mistreatment she had suffered at the hands of the little princess.

"Go and summon Consort Lian and that bastard to me."

They are all Helian Nie's bastards after all. We can't touch that little bastard Helian Si right now, but isn't there another one in our palace?

"This old servant will go right away." Granny Cai suddenly understood what her mistress was going to do. It seemed that Consort Lian and the Second Prince were in for another ordeal tonight.

Ronghua Palace, second only to the Empress's Fengluan Palace, was magnificent and opulent both inside and out, reflecting the noble status of its owner.

Only the side hall had a small courtyard, dilapidated and completely out of place in Ronghua Palace; no one would have guessed it.

This dilapidated courtyard is home to the current emperor's Consort Lian and the second prince, Helian Ci.

"A-Ci, come on, it's time to drink your medicine."

The woman speaking was dressed in a slightly worn gray dress, and her long hair was held up with only a wooden hairpin.

The woman had a beautiful face, but unfortunately her complexion was dull and her body was extremely frail; this was Consort Lian.

She carried a bowl of blackened medicine that smelled bitter as it had been brewed, and walked out towards a hidden spot in the shadows of the house.

And there, a boy in a wheelchair was parked.

The boy toyed with a crudely made dagger that gleamed with an eerie, cold light in his hand. His long, black hair cascaded silently down his thin but impeccably straight back.

Upon hearing the woman's voice, he discreetly slipped the dagger he had been toying with into his sleeve.

Helian Ci's face was half-hidden in the shadows. His face was extremely beautiful, but it was unusually pale. His thin, slightly pursed lips were exceptionally red, as alluring and eerie as blood.

As the woman approached, he opened his mouth and called out softly in a hoarse voice, "Mother."
