Chapter 124

Chapter 124

She knew the story of "enduring hardship to achieve her goal," so she would hold back for now and throw them all to the zombies the next day.

Even though that's what I was thinking.

As Lena followed Sean deeper into the passage, her gaze remained fixed on the apple in his hand.

There was no other way; she was so hungry she wanted to eat people.

Sean only contacted her about Judith, but Lena wouldn't tell Sean about Judith. She didn't think Sean could be a good father to Judith; he was already living the life of a savior himself.

Sean did indeed want information about the child, just as Lena had suspected. In fact, he wanted Lena to steal Judith for him. Although there was no opportunity at the moment, opportunities could be created, right? As long as she was willing to cooperate, he would find a way to create one.

Sean felt the chances of cooperation were still quite high. Looking at her disheveled appearance, based on Sean's understanding of Lina, this pretentious girl was bound to lose it soon. Moreover, it was rare for her to be so obedient, so Sean felt the probability of the deal succeeding had increased even more.

Lena had no idea that Sean was thinking such absurd things. If she had known, she probably would have just told him, "You're dreaming."

At the end of the corridor, Sean pushed open a door, and Lina followed him in. Before Sean could even open his mouth to mock Lina, he felt his hand go empty. Looking down, he saw Lina, like a vicious dog pouncing on its prey, snatch the apple from his hand and start crunching it down.

I was almost driven mad by Sean. Hoping that this guy would change was less likely than believing that the apocalypse was over.

Sean took a deep breath, but looking at Lina's eating habits, he couldn't help but open his mouth and say sarcastically, "Look at the way you're eating."

"A stunning beauty, what? You have a problem with that?" Lina mumbled. She didn't like eating apples because the sticky juice would get on her fingers, but now, Lina didn't even let the juice on her fingers go, licking it clean bit by bit.

"You bunch of scum are so heartless! You charge a work point for a bottle of water? Are you even human?" Lina swallowed the fruit in her mouth and cursed.

"Tsk, it's not like I set the rules," and besides, it's her own fault for deliberately being tormented; all I said was to make sure she didn't starve or thirst. Sean glanced disdainfully at Lina sucking her fingers. How come she's just like that Dixon? Oh right, they're both married; they really don't learn the good things.

"What's going on between you and Negan?" Sean asked, as this question concerned their collaboration.

"What's it to you?" Lina finished her apple, wiped her mouth, and smacked her lips as she savored it, while looking Sean up and down. "When did we become people who can talk about personal matters?"

Sean gritted his teeth, "Then give me back my apple!" This guy is still so annoying, and even more so now. The more I look at him, the more he resembles that Dixon!

"Here you go." Lina threw the cleanly gnawed fruit pit at Sean with a sense of entitlement. The wet pit hit Sean's T-shirt, making a wet patch, and then fell to the ground with a thud.

Sean's forehead veins bulged; he really couldn't get along with this guy, he was so annoying!

"Here you go, bye-bye." Having taken advantage of him, Lina turned to leave. What a joke! If she hadn't been eyeing the apple in Sean's hand, would she have let those two bastards make a deal in person?

“I can help you,” Sean said, suppressing his anger.

Lena's hand was already on the door. She didn't take the words seriously. Forget it, what good would they do to her? Sean? They should just hope Dwight had a change of heart. Oh, no, they should hope Dwight's wife ran away.

Sean gritted his teeth. This guy! He took two steps forward, pressed down on the door, then pulled Lina around so that she was leaning against the door. Sean looked down at Lina and said, "I said, I can help you, no, I can help you."

"Come on, we know each other well," Lina rolled her eyes. "You're much more likely to betray me than help me."

“We can talk,” Sean said. “I don’t know why you’ve been so prejudiced against me. I just wanted to survive, I wanted our team to survive. What did I do wrong? Just because I wanted to sacrifice that fat guy? I just wanted to make the best choice, and he ended up going back with me…” Sean said angrily. He hadn’t really done anything, and even if he had, so what? It was the fat guy’s fault anyway.

"Stop, stop, stop, this has nothing to do with me," Lina said impatiently, raising her hand to push Sean away. Sean straightened his chest, and the two remained locked in a stalemate.

“You know that!” Sean finally snapped, slamming his fist on the door. “I want my daughter!” He glared at Lina through gritted teeth. “You people will kill her! No, Rick is in serious trouble now, my daughter shouldn’t be with him, I can’t watch her be in danger!”

“Everyone will protect her. It’s really troublesome to leave her to you,” Lina said impatiently. “She’s Rick’s daughter.”

"Go to hell! Who doesn't know that's my daughter?" Sean roared.

“No, everyone knows she’s Rick’s daughter, Lori’s daughter, and Carl’s sister. But you, Sean, she has nothing to do with you, and never will. As long as she’s alive, she has nothing to do with you.” Lena kicked Sean’s shin in frustration.

“I don’t care what you think, she’s mine,” Sean said fiercely, lowering his head and staring at Lina. His hot breath enveloped Lina, making her even more uncomfortable. This scoundrel.

Lina, unable to bear it any longer, kicked him in his sensitive area, yelling, "Get away from me!"

Sean stepped back in time. He was already wary of Lina, so he immediately noticed when she moved her foot.

“Listen, only I can help you now. I want my daughter. I can find a way to let you and that Dixon leave. I can even find a way to kill Negan,” Sean licked his lips and said in a low voice. “I can do all of these things. All I need is one thing: my daughter.” Sean carefully observed Lena’s expression, trying to read her thoughts.

Lena merely frowned. Kill Negan?

"If you're so awesome, why is everyone else calling you Negan, not Sean?" Lena looked at Sean suspiciously. This old guy was pretty good at conning people, so what, he'd managed to scam her? Unfortunately, she had already downloaded the national anti-fraud app.

“Because I don’t want to,” Sean said. Although he claimed he could kill Negan, he knew the chances of success were slim and somewhat questionable.

"Come on, if you had that chance, you wouldn't let someone else be in charge of you. Is it really because you don't want to be the boss? Then I'd be Qin Shi Huang." Lina said disdainfully. She was just young, not a three-year-old.

Although he didn't know what Lena meant, Sean knew she didn't trust him. Frustrated, Sean scratched his head. "Fine, I can let you two go. I'm sure I can do that. Kill Negan. I can be your inside man. I know Rick. He...yielded?" Sean scoffed. "You say I'm not one to submit to others? Does that mean he is? He'll definitely rebel. I can," Sean suppressed his displeasure, "I can help him, and I can help you."

Lena raised an eyebrow, looking Sean up and down. Tsk tsk tsk, why couldn't Sean have been nicer to Rick from the start and said, "I'm not here to break you up, I'm here to join you"? He would have a good brother, a woman he loves, and a son he'd taken in. What a happy family of five!

Of course, Lina only thought it to herself. If she said it out loud, both Sean and Rick would be furious with her.

Unaware that Lena was simply overthinking, Sean assumed she had taken his words to heart. Seizing the opportunity, he continued to try and persuade her, "Not everyone in the Saviors obeys Negan. I know those people. If you can find more manpower, at least a third of the Saviors, I can make them stop obeying Negan. Then, everyone can kill Negan together, and you won't have to be afraid of him anymore."

Afraid of Negan? Who's afraid of Negan? Seriously, isn't this kid scared himself? How dare he insult people like that? If Negan didn't have so many men, who would be afraid of him?

Even with so many men under his command, Lina isn't afraid of him.

But killing Negan? Lena frowned. Before regaining her memories, this was probably one of the things she most wanted to do. Now, she…

“Once we kill Negan, the Saviour Church will be in chaos,” Sean said confidently. Even if it wasn’t, he would make it chaotic. “You can take advantage of that to do a lot of things, and these guys aren’t much of a threat without Negan. Rick can handle them,” Sean said.

Upon hearing this, Lina couldn't help but glance at Sean again; the relationship between them was truly strange.

“And I, I can do so many things for you, but I only want one thing in return, one that should have been mine.” Sean was very emotional, but he tried to suppress himself, though his high-pitched voice still revealed his expectation.

Is killing Negan really what she wanted?

Lena stared intently at Sean. When this unavoidable matter was finally laid out before her, she realized that she didn't want to kill Negan. No, she wanted to kill 'Negan'.

Sean looked at Lina with eager eyes. He hoped the deal would go through. He didn't really want to help Lina and the others, but he also didn't intend to betray them.

Killing Negan was necessary. He needed a chance to leave the Saviors. His daughter shouldn't be living in such a squalid place. He had to protect his daughter, so he had to leave the Saviors.

But he didn't want to be hunted down, which would be too much trouble, so he figured he might as well take this opportunity to kill Negan, and then no one would care about his whereabouts.

Sean knew the others; no one could replace Negan as well as Negan. In fact, without Negan, this place wouldn't last long and would definitely collapse.

"Every man for himself" is a proverb. He only needs to do some things in secret, and when everything settles down, he can take his daughter and a few of his men and leave this place to a safe place to raise his daughter. This is what he wants.

Sean's gaze was intense, making it hard for Lena to ignore him even if she wanted to. He was serious, but he wasn't necessarily reliable either. However…

“Okay,” Lina said, looking at Sean. “I agree to this deal.”

Sean's expression brightened. Now he needed something to control Lina so the deal could continue.

Lina, on the other hand, was thinking that it wasn't a loss to trick an inside man, but as for Judith, ugh! No way!

Both men had their own ulterior motives, but they shook hands 'amicably', symbolizing that the deal was done.

Ha, let's steal Daryl Dixon out and hide him first.

Ha, let's take advantage of the big spenders first.

With her hands waving in a gesture of friendship, Lina said without hesitation, "I want canned luncheon meat, canned fish, all kinds of canned goods, give me a few cans first."

"...Do you think these things are so easy to get?" The friendship lasted less than three seconds before Sean's veins were about to bulge again.

"Ha, useless thing." Lina immediately pulled her hand away in disgust. "Is this all you're capable of?"

Sean's brow twitched, and he pulled two energy bars from his pocket. "Where do you think you are right now? Are you afraid people won't recognize you?" Canned food? Did he pick them out for her?

Two energy bars would be fine too, Lina took them and ate them in big bites. "Give me a few more tomorrow."

I'm so hungry every day, I really want to curse.

"..." Sean rolled his eyes. He got no benefit at all; it was all a losing proposition.

“At least tell me her name,” Sean couldn’t help but ask.

Lina sneered inwardly, "Sure,"

Sean was stunned and looked at Lina strangely. Had she changed her personality?

"Grems." Lina swallowed the last of her energy bar, then opened the door and ran off.

“FU%CK U Lina Lee!” Sean roared.

“FU%CK U Sean. Balabala!” What was his last name again? Whatever, it's not Grimes anyway.
