Chapter 125

Chapter 125

With food in her belly and having played a trick on the annoying Sean, Lena returned to her job in a cheerful mood, where the elusive Dwight was waiting for her.

The person who was supposed to be watching Lina while she worked has disappeared.

Lena showed no unease about having done something wrong. She swaggered past Dwight and ran to pick up the box on the ground.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t cause trouble for myself.” Dwight leaned against the wall, twirling a cigarette in his hand.

"If I were you, I'd get a trendy haircut to cover up that half-face of yours, so you don't scare anyone. Oh, and nobody's going to scare you anymore, you're all alone," Lina said sarcastically.

"..." Dwight's brow twitched, and he crushed the cigarette in his hand. "I'm really curious, are you really that stupid or are you really not afraid?" Dwight said. They were just prisoners, and they held the power of life and death over these people, but she was still quite strange.

She was indeed afraid, but she wasn't afraid of these people; she was only afraid of the people around her dying. Besides, was he polite? How could he call a girl cheap? Lina glared fiercely at Dwight, "Serves you right for not having a wife!" He really doesn't know how to talk.

Dwight took a deep breath. "Don't hit me, don't hit me, don't hit me..." He quickly hypnotized himself, then looked at Lena and said, "Wipe the crumbs off your mouth." He turned and stormed off.

Lena rubbed her clothes against it, and sure enough, there was some. Oh well, whatever. Even if she got caught, it would be Sean who would be in trouble. Lena thought indifferently that he was the one who seduced her first. It was all his fault. She had just made a mistake that everyone makes.

Lena glanced at the small cloth bag Sean had just handed her; its contents had been taken, probably the cigarette Dwight had just held. She also noticed the bloodstains on it; she wondered if the guy watching her was still alive. Tsk, these people are really ruthless.

While she was talking to Sean, she suddenly remembered something: that silly kid Carl, he seemed to have stormed into the Church of Saviour, and that elusive Jesus.

Daryl must have escaped with Jesus, and it was during this incident that Carl and Negan's ill-fated relationship began.

That's not the most important thing. She has to find a way to gain her freedom. That silly kid Karl seems to be going offline soon too. He's always wandering around outside and got bitten.

She had to protect Carl, but if she escaped the Saviour's Church, Lina couldn't guarantee that Negan wouldn't go mad in Alexandria.

She has always been quite confident and never underestimates her importance in anyone's heart; there's no way around it, that's just how everyone likes her.

While thinking, Lina worked until she finished her work for the day, but she still couldn't come up with a solution, and she didn't dare to take the risk.

After several days of this frustration, Lina saw Daryl at work one day. Poor Daryl, he would occasionally appear at various odd jobs, including but not limited to cleaners and corpse carriers at the door.

On the way back and forth carrying goods, Lina could see Daryl's figure. It was dangerous, but he could handle it.

Lina dawdled as she carried the boxes, her eyes constantly drifting towards Daryl. New wounds piled upon old ones; he looked so disheveled, it pained her.

“You know what Negan wants, it’s just a matter of a word,” Dwight whispered in Lena’s ear, appearing out of nowhere again.

“Your breath stinks,” Lina said, pinching her nose.

Dwight couldn't keep his composure any longer; his breath didn't smell bad at all! "I brushed my teeth!" Dwight said through gritted teeth.

"Ugh—" Lina moved away from Dwight in disgust.

Dwight was furious. He really did... FU%CK! He really believed her nonsense! Watching Lena get closer and closer to the iron fence, Dwight closed his eyes in frustration, pinched his brow, and cried out for help.

Lately, his ability to regulate his emotions has been getting better and better. Dwight opened his eyes, grabbed Lena, and said, "Your work," just then a truck drove back, and Dwight stopped the people who were about to unload the goods, "Go!"

Lina pouted and walked towards the truck, not forgetting to leave with a cheeky remark, "Your teeth are so yellow!"

Dwight took a deep breath; he heard nothing.

Lena was stunned as soon as she got into the car. Carl was holding a gun and staring blankly at Lena. To make matters worse, Negan's voice came from outside.

"...Are you crazy!" Lina whispered. Someone had already walked in through the door, and Lina was sweating profusely with anxiety.

Carl's eyes were resolute. He stood up, took his gun, and went to the door. Lina tried to stop him, but the guy had already started firing. The unlucky guy by the car was shot dead.

Lena covered her face in despair, resignedly getting out of the truck. Negan released his human shield and curiously looked into the cargo compartment. Carl, holding a gun and using his clothes to block out the light, shouted, "Get out of my way! I only want Negan's life!"

Lina glanced at Daryl with a bitter expression. The two were speechless and choked with emotion across the iron fence. What was going to happen to this hot-blooded young man?

Negan was clearly intrigued. He glanced at Lina, who, as expected, looked much more disheveled. But it was all her own fault; she hadn't listened to him and was now flirting with that old man.

Negan looked at Carl. "Damn, kid, you're so cute. You were carrying that gun because it looked cool, kid? I don't lie, you almost scared me to death."

"Why don't you stop grinning like that?" Lina rolled her eyes. Karl was still a child after all. As Negan spoke, the people around Karl tackled him and snatched the gun from his hand.

The person in the surrounding area specifically refers to Dwight.

Seeing him point a gun at Carl, Lina narrowed her eyes and kicked him away. "He's just a kid!" Lina glared at Negan.

“Kid,” Negan chuckled, “Alright,” Negan walked over and held out his hand to Karl on the ground, “Come on, kid, let me show you around.”

“You have the same nasty eyes as your father,” Negan said, sizing up Carl.

Lena pushed past Negan, pulled Carl to his feet, and examined him thoroughly. "Are you out of your mind? Going it alone, do you think you're Guan Yu or Zhao Yun?"

Carl looked completely bewildered. He had no idea what Lina was talking about. He kept glancing at Lina while keeping a wary eye on Negan behind her.

Negan gave Lina an annoyed look, then Dwight pulled Lina away, and Negan grabbed Carl and left.

“He’ll be fine, but if you move again, things might change,” Dwight warned, releasing Lena and grabbing Daryl at Negan’s signal, leaving Lena and her new guard alone at the door.

Worrying was useless, so Lina could only suppress her temper and continue working.

All the anxiety in my heart turned into motivation to move the goods. I was thinking about finishing the work as soon as possible and taking advantage of the break to sneak off to see Karl. The most important thing was to tell that brat not to run around anymore!

Before she could finish her work, Negan grabbed Carl, and a large group of Saviors left the Saviors' Church.

Lina kicked the wall in anger, but could only watch as the car exhaust fumes gradually dissipated.

With Negan away, the Saviors became lazy, and the men watching Lena soon went off to slack off. Lena wasn't stupid either; she'd slack off when she could, and she slipped away too. Wasn't this a perfect opportunity? Find Daryl and discuss a plan.

Just as she was about to go to Daryl, Daryl also received a note and a key. It was from Dwight's wife, Shirley, who told Daryl to leave as soon as possible.

This was undoubtedly a huge risk, but Daryl wouldn't let the opportunity slip by. He successfully opened the door, slipped out, found a room to hide in, ate some peanut butter, changed his clothes, and then he had to hurry over to the next room, where there were quite a few noisy people.

Daryl pulled his hat down low, quickly walked out the door, and turned sideways. Fortunately, the people inside were too busy playing to notice him. As soon as he reached the corner, Daryl immediately hid against the wall.

"...Sean, are you sure? Negan sent you to control the surrounding horde of zombies. What if he finds out?"

"Please, he's not here, I just want to go over there and take a look, Al, please help me this once."

"Okay, okay, you'd better be careful not to let anyone else find out."

"Thanks, buddy."

Sean? How is he still alive? Forget it, I'd better get away from him first.

"By the way, about that matter, should we take action now? Negan is rarely around."

Upon hearing this, Daryl stopped. What is it?

“…Okay, it’s up to you. Take him to where we were before and hide him.” Sean said.

"No problem, Knight and the others have changed shifts and will be back in a bit. I'll have them hide well, no one will know."

"Thank you, Al, you've really helped me a lot,"

"You saved our lives, Sean, it's nothing."

Daryl raised an eyebrow and tiptoed around the path, wondering what Sean was up to, but his presence here was definitely not a good thing.

Daryl walked towards the door, following his memory, and just then ran into Lina, who was making a runaway, and Jesus.

He wasn't mistaken after all! He was hiding on the roof of the car!

Even though they were dressed so casually, Lina recognized Daryl at a glance. The three of them opened a door and hid inside.

“Let’s go, no one has noticed us now,” Jesus said. He had already assessed the situation in the vicinity and there was no need to stay any longer.

“No, you two go first,” Lina said.

"Why?" Daryl pulled Lina close, cradled her head in his arms, and looked her up and down carefully. "Are you alright?"

"...This is my head, not a basketball!" Lina, who had been grabbed and shaken a couple of times, nudged Daryl. "I'm fine, you guys go now, don't worry about me."

“No,” Daryl frowned, “I won’t let you stay here.”

“Actually,” Lena sighed, “I’ve regained my memories, Negan, he won’t kill me,” at least not now, “so you don’t need to worry about me. If I ran away, I was afraid he’d go to Alexandria…”

“No, he won’t kill other people indiscriminately,” Jesus said. “He needs workers.”

"You might not believe it, but I feel like I might be quite important," Lina said awkwardly.

“…Then I won’t leave either,” Daryl said after thinking for a moment.

"No, you have to leave," Lina quickly retorted. "Your presence is hindering my performance; only when you leave can I... be effective." What a drama queen!

“No,” Daryl refused firmly, he would never leave Lina alone in this godforsaken place.

“Let’s go together,” Jesus insisted.

“…Listen to me,” Lina sighed sadly. “The probability of Negan killing me will probably only appear when I’m about to kill him. He raised me since I was a child.” Her parents were loving and had various anniversaries every few days, so Lina was sent to stay with the neighbors until they returned.

Sometimes Negan would take Lena to school, where she would sit on the platform and watch him teach a bunch of kids how to play baseball.

"Wow!" Jesus was very shocked.

“And when the apocalypse came, he even went to DC to look for me,” Lina pouted. “If I really ran away with you guys… then Alexander…” Anyway, if Daryl gets caught next time, he might really have his legs broken.

"..." Jesus couldn't help but ponder. Such an opportunity would not come again, but... if Lina could really stay here unharmed, then... staying might be more useful.

They need a reliable inside man.

“Let’s go,” Jesus said, pulling Daryl along.

Daryl was a little angry. He wanted to just carry Lina away. He didn't care about anything else. He didn't want to leave his wife in this godforsaken place.

Then he was punished by Lina and Jesus together.

Watching Jesus bind Daryl and the two ride away on a motorcycle, Lina felt relieved. Then, Lina's knuckles cracked rapidly. Before they could bind another man from Alexandria, her seal was broken!

Everything was going smoothly at the Church of Saviour, but Alexander's situation was far from optimistic. Negan kept insulting Abraham, and Rosita's patience was wearing thin. At such close range, this might be their only chance! In the end, she couldn't help but fire a shot.

Negan used Lucille to deflect the bullet, and he discovered that the bullet was unusual—it was handmade.

In an attempt to force Olivia to reveal who manufactured the bullets, she was shot and killed by Arat. Eugene stepped forward shakily. Rick and Aaron, who had painstakingly collected supplies and nearly lost their lives, finally returned to Alexandria only to find this mess.

The Salvation Army found a pretext to beat Aaron up. Rick was stopped and watched helplessly. When he got to Negan's side, he saw Olivia dead not far away and heard Negan's message that he was going to take Eugene away.

Finally, Rick, exhausted, went to the small dark room and quietly squatted down there. They couldn't go on like this any longer.

They need to unite; he needs manpower, more manpower, more guns. He can't continue to be passive.

Michonne emerged from the darkness, revealing the location of the Church of the Saviors. This inspired Rick, and after discussing their options, Rick led his men to Hilltop to unite and fight against the Saviors.

Here, he saw Daryl, who had been captured. He had escaped and brought news of Lina, who was still at the Salvation Church.
