Chapter 30

Chapter 30

“Ten months, yet you all look so healthy,” Rick said, looking toward the kitchen. “There must be plenty of supplies here.”

“There’s only a little left,” Curly said.

“You’d better be honest,” Moore tightened his grip on the knife, the sharp blade causing Curly to raise his neck.

“You don’t need to do this. We can discuss it. There must be a way that satisfies both sides,” Axel said, raising his hand.

Rick walked into the kitchen, where supplies were indeed plentiful. "We'll clear out a cell for you, and we'll take half of what's here."

“I can give you two cases of canned food,” Curly said unhappily.

“No, half, just half.” Rick turned to look at him.

“Fine,” Curly reluctantly agreed, feeling the knife drawing ever closer, “you have to give us weapons.”

“Of course,” Rick glanced at Daryl and Glenn. Each of them carried more than one knife, so he could afford to give one spare to the five of them.

“I want that,” Curly said, pointing to the knife in Lina’s hand.

“Sure,” Lina said, pointing the knife at his nose, “Do you want the head or the heart?”

“This doesn’t seem like a cooperative attitude,” Curly said, looking at Rick with displeasure.

“You have no say, and you’d better understand that.” Rick glanced at Lina, who reluctantly walked over to Daryl.

"Give me back that gun," Curly said, pressing his advantage.

“After we’re done cleaning up,” Rick said, “there’s one thing I need to make clear beforehand: if I see you touch a single hair on my people’s heads, or even just smell a tiny bit of your scent, I will kill you.” Rick kept getting closer to Curly, and his fierce aura made Curly pause for a moment.

“Deal,” he said somewhat awkwardly.

Moore and Daryl stared at the guys, while the others started moving supplies. Lina, in particular, took advantage of the crowd and stacked the boxes to the highest point before swaggering back with Rick.

"My God," Axel watched Lina leave in disbelief, "such a small body with such great strength."

Moore chuckled, swaggered into the kitchen, opened a can, and tossed one to Daryl. "You guys are really lucky."

He ate the canned food while watching the five people.

"What happened to your hand?" Curly asked.

“Bitened, cut off,” Moore said simply. “I should charge you tuition.” He sized up the curly-haired guy, who was the most troublesome of the five, along with the short black man. Good heavens, he knew all too well what scumbags looked like.

The journey back was smooth. After putting down the food, Rick left Hershel and Maggie in the cell. He wanted Lena to stay as well, but she wouldn't listen. Rick looked at Lena with a headache.

“I’m still waiting to kill that curly-haired guy,” Lina muttered. “He looks like he’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeve.”

“No, I’ll handle it,” Rick said helplessly. “Protect yourself, stay away from those people, if necessary.” Rick licked his lips; he didn’t want Lena to do those dirty things.

“It’s not the first time, so don’t worry so much. I don’t enjoy the feeling of killing, but I can do it,” Lina said seriously.

Rick nodded helplessly; she was right.

“Listen, we all need to be on our guard. Those guys are no good. Be careful, your safety is the most important thing. If necessary, just throw them away,” Rick said seriously, looking around at everyone.

"Don't worry." Everyone nodded. Although it was cruel, their people were the most important.

Back at the restaurant, Rick began to arrange the formation. He earnestly and seriously taught them how to eliminate the walkers, but Lena could tell from the way they looked at the guys that it was like talking to a brick wall.

Sure enough, as soon as they turned a corner and encountered the zombies, the group of idiots shouted and rushed at them, fighting wildly without any strategy.

He completely forgot all about the brain that Rick had repeatedly emphasized.

Lena rolled her eyes and looked at T-boy, who was also speechless. Everyone stood there watching these five idiots perform. Finally, Rick, unable to bear it any longer, patted Daryl on the shoulder, and the group stepped forward and swiftly dealt with the walkers.

Exhausted, Rick didn't want to say anything more. Daryl then began to emphasize to these idiots again: head, only attack the head.

Faced with the zombies attacking again, these fools finally learned to obey, maintain formation, and attack the head.

Lina kept watch from behind. The big guy seemed scared and kept backing away. Lina couldn't help but frown. "Hey, don't fall behind,"

The big guy stopped, standing at the doorway, not daring to move forward, but also no longer retreating. After a while, Lina saw the zombie walking behind him and stabbed it with her knife. The big guy was so frightened that he turned around and ran away, but then he realized that there was a zombie behind him, and he was so frightened that he retreated back.

"Seriously? What did you do to get arrested?" Lina was dumbfounded by the zombies and couldn't help but ask. "So big, yet so cowardly?"

“I’m Black, you know that,” the big guy said nervously.

Rick glanced back at Lina and the big guy. "I'll say it again, don't break the formation."

The big guy nodded reluctantly, but judging from his expression, he didn't dare to kill any zombies.

The group continued forward and arrived at the laundry room. Lina looked at Curly walking ahead and thought, "We're almost there."

Rick tossed the keys to Curly, who reluctantly picked them up, glancing at the short, black man.

Lena silently moved over. Curly ignored Rick's instructions and deliberately opened two doors, allowing the walkers to pour in. Curly took the opportunity to try and attack Rick, seemingly forgetting about Lena standing at the back.

Never underestimate women; hopefully, they'll learn this in their next life.

Lena severed Curly's head with one stroke, then pulled out a short knife with her other hand, flung it out, and it pierced straight into the back of the fleeing short black man.

Moore raised an eyebrow and whistled.

The remaining three prisoners watched Lina nervously until the walkers were cleared away. Under the intimidation of Daryl's crossbow, the three of them quickly knelt down; they wanted to live.

“We really have nothing to do with what just happened,” Axel’s voice trembled, almost breaking down in tears. “I like tinkering with medicine, but I would never kill anyone!”

“Oscar’s a mechanic, he wouldn’t kill anyone. Big Guy’s a good guy too. We’re not bloodthirsty killers, they are. Please, I swear to God, this is true, I really don’t want to die.” Axel couldn’t hold back anymore and started wailing.

Lena rolled her eyes and put away her knife. Rick hesitated for a moment, and finally, Moore, Daryl, and T-boy escorted the remaining three prisoners and threw them into the cleared cells.

As agreed.

"You're just going to leave us here? That's so cruel!" Oscar said in disbelief.

“You’re lucky enough,” Daryl said, then pulled Lina away.

"Here's a suggestion: drag the body out and burn it." T-boy said, then turned and left.

Moore glared at them fiercely. "Don't forget the agreement,"

Back in the cell block, Patricia had already cooked a delicious pot of food! Lina cheered and pounced on it, shouting, "Food! Food! Food!"

After locking the door, Rick smiled helplessly. A moment later, he saw a box on the table, full of medical supplies.

"What is this?" he asked, somewhat puzzled.

Beth looked at him helplessly, "Karl went to the infirmary by himself, killed two walkers, and then there's his attitude towards Lori..."

Rick rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

He thought there was still time; they were settled, and educating Carl would be on his agenda.

Lowry, clutching her belly, walked out, and Rick, after thinking for a moment, followed her out to the covered bridge.

Lina was happily eating a bowl of food when she caught a glimpse of the two of them out of the corner of her eye. Such a troublesome married life—thankfully, she didn't have one, hehe.

Lina stuffed another big mouthful into her mouth. It is said that when one is full and warm, one thinks of lustful desires. While eating, Lina couldn't help but think of the watchtower that Daryl had cleaned up but had not yet used.

Holding her rice bowl, Lina moved closer to Daryl, who ate huddled on the steps, neither too far from the crowd nor too far from being noticed.

“I’m thinking of taking a shower in a bit,” Lina said.

“I’ll go find you some firewood,” Daryl said casually.

"You'd better be too." Lina continued eating without changing her expression.

"..." Daryl was about to say "Don't be so particular" when he suddenly realized something and shut his mouth without saying anything.

"I'm so glad," Lina said, glancing at Daryl with a sense of relief.

"..." Daryl awkwardly scooped up a large spoonful of corn, stuffed it into his mouth, and uncomfortably wiped the corner of his lips with his finger.

"You'd better hurry up, I don't want to run into Glenn Magee," Lina said seriously, knowing that the watchtower was now a coveted spot for young couples.

Daryl silently quickened his eating pace, soon put down his bowl and went outside.

Lina watched Daryl leave with satisfaction. It was great; she only had to ask him to do the work for her.

Moore rolled his eyes, grabbed the food, and went upstairs. His brother had really become this girl's lackey.

*

It was called a bath, but it was just a matter of heating some water to wipe the skin, which was already quite a luxury.

After taking a bath, Lina changed into clean clothes and sneaked out.

Thanks to the conversation between Lowry and her worried father Rick, he finally had no time to keep an eye on Lena.

As they climbed the watchtower, Lina whistled, "Wow, you're surprisingly clean."

Daryl glanced uncomfortably at Lina. Unlike Lina, he didn't need hot water, so he jumped into the river to wash himself.

The cold steam did not extinguish the fire; instead, it made him even more eager to see what would happen.

Lina didn't dawdle; after all, there were other people in line behind her! (Just kidding.)

She deftly took off her top, jumped onto Daryl, and wrapped her arms around his waist, while Daryl hugged Lena's legs.

The two kissed passionately.

Several months had passed since the last time, and Lina had become awkward again.

Fortunately, Daryl was very patient, and hunters always need a lot of patience.

This time it was much more comfortable than the last, and Lina got a taste for it. They used up the remaining five children's sacs, one of which accidentally fell to the ground.

With the baby no longer in danger, Lina and Daryl calmed down. After all, they didn't want to cause any deaths, so it was best not to take any risks at all.

“Remember to get some back next time,” Lina yawned as she lay in Daryl’s arms. She grabbed Daryl’s fingers and stroked and played with them one by one until they were intertwined. “I bet there are plenty of people who need them.”

“…Okay.” Daryl glanced at the mischievous Lina, who was taking advantage of the fact that he was powerless to do anything about it.

Lena tilted her head up and kissed Daryl's stubble-covered chin. "I'll get you a razor. Look at my face and neck, they're all red!"

Daryl looked down at Lina. In fact, not only her face and neck, but also her skin was exceptionally delicate. Daryl's Adam's apple bobbed, and he reluctantly looked away and nodded.

Lena snuggled into Daryl's arms, found a comfortable angle, and fell asleep contentedly in Daryl's embrace. As for Glenn and Maggie?

They should go and clear out the other watchtower.
