Chapter 55

Chapter 55

“Listen, child, you don’t have to do this,” Herschel raised his hand. Talsey put down the knife in his hand. The man in front of her was holding Judith by the neck. With just a slight movement, no one would dare to take the risk.

“Do you remember what you just said? I know you’re not that kind of person. We still have a chance, not just for us, but for this child, and for yourself. You don’t want to become like this. You’re not a monster…” Herschel looked at him sincerely and slowly walked forward.

"Don't move!" The man's eyes were sharp. "Now all of you get out, get out!"

Judith burst into tears, her sobs heartbreaking. Herschel and Talsey exchanged a glance and could only retreat helplessly. Talsey opened the door and rushed out first. Herschel took one last look at Judith and said, "Don't hurt her," before leaving.

The man listened anxiously to the commotion outside, but there were no screams as he had expected, only sounds of collisions and crashes.

This isn't right.

He tried to run to Judith's cradle, but the door was slammed open, and Tyrsey pounced on him, punching him viciously.

“Yes, that’s it…” The man laughed. That’s right, everyone is the same. No one is an exception in this damned world. See? Everyone is the same.

Tersey, somewhat delirious, punched him, shouting, "I can't! I can't!"

Herschel stepped forward and stopped Tersey, who had already passed out. "Let's go, let's wait for Carol outside."

Tyrsey, panting heavily like a bewildered child, looked at Herschel and nodded blankly.

Tyrsey picked up Judith and left the room with Herschel. He wouldn't become that kind of person, he wouldn't.

*

“No, you go pick up Beth, I’ll go in. Once we’re out, we’ll leave immediately,” Carol said to Lina, glancing at the terminal station.

“I managed to sneak in, time is tight,” Carol patted Lina on the shoulder. “It’s nice to see you again, see you in a bit.”

Carol was right. Lina grabbed her bag and ran to the spot where she had hidden the bass.

“Beth?” Lina called out. Beth poked her head out of the tree. “What happened? I heard an explosion.” She hesitated for a moment before deciding whether to come down.

"Come down, we need to get ready," Lina said, standing close to the tree and gesturing for Beth to slowly step down.

Gunshots rang out continuously at the terminal station. Lina pulled Beth to the place where she had arranged to meet Rick. While waiting, Lina didn't sit idle; she took out her gun and aimed it at the people inside.

“Little Na!” Daryl called out.

Lena lowered her gun and looked back. Everyone was there except Herschel, Talsey, Judith, Carol, and Morgan!

"Lina!" Sophia and Dewayne waved excitedly at her.

Beth ran over and hugged Maggie, then started crying.

"Amy!" Lina shoved the gun at Daryl and rushed to hug Amy. "You're alright! Thank goodness!"

Amy also pulled Lina along, and the two of them happily skipped and jumped around.

"..." Daryl glanced at the gun in his hand, then at Lina in Amy's arms.

Tsk.

“Give me the gun,” Rick gestured for Daryl to hand him the bag at his feet.

"What are you doing?" Glenn was stunned for a moment.

“Go around the wire mesh and see if any have slipped through,” Rick said, taking the bag Daryl gave him and beginning to distribute the guns.

“No, we’ve already escaped.” Glenn was somewhat shocked.

“I don’t want them chasing after me,” Lina said to Glenn after she and Amy had finished their affectionate hug and said goodbye to the children. “You don’t have to do this, but don’t stop me.”

“Yeah, kid, if these guys survive, they’ll be a huge problem,” Moore rubbed his bare hand. Tsk, now he had no spares, what a hassle. “Trust me, they’ll chase us to our deaths.”

“...They can’t survive, there are so many walkers,” Andrea said hesitantly.

"Recruiting volunteers!" Lina was the first to raise her hand, but in such a serious setting, no one was in the mood to play along with Lina's little joke.

Rick hesitated for a long time. Apart from Lina and Moore, almost everyone else was against it, while Daryl remained indifferent as always, as if he didn't care what anyone did.

Lina looked around again. "Hey? Didn't you guys see Carol?"

“No?” Rick’s attention was drawn to Lina’s words. “You mean…”

"She caused the explosion, it was so cool!" Lina exclaimed excitedly. "She shot and blew up some kind of gas? I don't know, then she lit a... firework? Anyway, boom! So cool!"

Daryl watched Lina gesturing and gesturing like a child and silently turned his head away to chuckle. Then he saw Carol.

Carole, carrying everyone's belongings, stared at them in disbelief. Daryl excitedly stepped forward, hugged her, then let go and pointed behind Amy.

"Mom!" Sophia ran into Carol's arms.

Carol hugged Sophia tightly, and the mother and daughter burst into tears.

Dewayne looked around sadly. No miracle had happened, and his father hadn't appeared either.

Carl walked over to Dewayne and looked at him with concern. Dewayne forced a smile and didn't look at Carol and Sophia again.

After her initial excitement subsided, Carol remembered the three people in the cabin. She looked at Rick and said, "You guys have to come with me."

Rick followed Carol in disbelief. Her words floated in his ears, like candy laced with arsenic, both desirable and terrifying until he saw them with his own eyes.

At the door of the cabin, Rick saw Tyrsey holding Judith, and he broke down in tears, running towards Judith.

Carl gave chase.

Sasha couldn't help but cry when she saw Tersey; she hadn't expected her brother to still be alive.

“Dad!” Maggie and Beth also saw Herschel, and the three of them hugged each other. Glenn also went over and looked at them with some tears in his eyes.

Lina ran up to Glenn with a cheeky grin and said, "Oppa, if you need a hug to cry in, I'll gladly lend it to you."

Everywhere people are putting up family photos, so these two can't be an exception, can they?

Glenn looked at Lina with a wry smile. "No, I don't want to break my back." Glenn compared his height to Lina's and got a furious Lina in return.

Lena unsheathed her knife, grabbed it, and chased Glenn around through the scabbard.

“Hey! Hey! Daryl!” Glenn shouted in a panic as he ran.

"Calling anyone won't help!" Lina angrily chased after Glenn, the two of them running around the crowd.

Everyone laughed helplessly as they watched the two bickering.

After a short rest, everyone continued along the railway tracks, not knowing where they were going, but being together was their home.

Lina looked at the magnificent team; the chat should be full of comments like "peak combat power."

With so many people together, even killing a walker would be a fight over it. Lina, however, didn't fight with Michonne; she was circling around Eugene.

Although Rosita and Abraham trusted Rick and his group after Glenn and Maggie's introduction, they couldn't help but be terrified by Lena's scrutinizing gaze on Eugene, who was so frightened he almost couldn't walk!

“I don’t understand why you keep staring at me. Logically speaking, I look no different from a normal person. I’m not weird. Of course, I’m somewhat handsome, but you don’t seem to appreciate it. I don’t blame you… Anyway, could you please stop staring at me?” Eugene stammered.

"I just think you're amazing," Lina said with a grin. The most cowardly person does the most daring thing. "By the way, I heard you're quite clever. Can you get your hands on any radios or something and contact China?" Lina asked.

"The prerequisite is that the other party accepts our signal, and we need military-grade radios. Given that almost all communication facilities have been damaged to some extent, we may need to repair information base stations to ensure that electromagnetic waves can be transmitted smoothly. We need to find the regulations made by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on global radio spectrum and satellite orbits, and find the code so that we can bypass the US radio blocking of China and receive the other party's information..." Eugene spoke very quickly. Lena tried to understand, but the conclusion was that it was difficult and impossible.

“…You know what? I don’t believe DC can control the virus, but China must have a way to control it. Maybe they’ll develop a vaccine in a few years,” Lina said.

“…I am from the DC Secret Service…” Eugene said nervously, speaking even faster.

"Come on," Lena chuckled, glancing at Eugene. "Honesty is a virtue, and you're very smart, really." Lena didn't want them to run to DC again; she preferred everyone to stay and fight off those cannibals.

“Hey, Lina, let’s get something to eat,” Rick called out from afar.

When Lina saw Abraham next to Rick, she knew that he couldn't stand Lina harassing Eugene and had gone to find help.

“Okay, you have some good friends,” Lina said, standing on tiptoe and patting Eugene on the shoulder. “Seriously, why don’t you consider looking into how to help me get back to China? We Chinese are the most generous people; it’s not like we can’t take you guys with us.”

"..." Eugene watched Lina leave in silence, his legs almost giving way and he collapsed to the ground. Did she know something? How could that be? He had told a flawless story; no one could possibly have found out!

Lina glanced at Rick talking to Tara, but didn't go over to disturb him. She ran to Daryl's side and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

Daryl took out some tree roots and strips of meat. Since they hadn't caught any big prey, just a few squirrels, there was enough for everyone to share.

"I'll go look again," Lina said, glancing around. The old were old, the young were young, and the injured were injured; they couldn't go hungry.

“I’ll go with you,” Daryl said, slinging his crossbow over his shoulder and nodding to Rick from a distance.

Lina thought for a moment. She not only wanted to hunt, but also to go fishing. Those people were very good at sneaking around, but if someone was alone, they might take action.

"Want to compete with me?" Lina looked at Daryl provocatively. "You go there, I'll go here, let's see who brings back more prey."

Some people seem to have forgotten who taught her to hunt. Daryl pouted. "Why?" What benefit would he get?

"Hmm, there's still half a box left in Mole's bag?" Lina blinked innocently.

If I didn't know what she was talking about.

Daryl silently followed the direction Lina pointed and left. Lina shrugged smugly, looking quite pleased with herself.
