Chapter 475 An Unintentional Mistake

Chapter 475 An Unintentional Mistake

Han Yuxuan spotted the two of them and happily ran over.

"Mom and Dad are here."

Han Xi smiled and said, "What are you playing so early in the morning?"

Han Yuxuan took her hand and said, "Mom, Grandpa is playing games with us, it's so much fun! You and Dad should join in too."

Han Xi sat down on the ground with him, and Shen Jiheng naturally followed suit.

Han Yue noticed that she looked unwell and her eyes were a little swollen, and asked with concern, "Are you alright? You look terrible."

"It's nothing, I probably just didn't get enough rest last night."

Han Yue sighed and said, "I didn't sleep a wink last night either, worried about Chuang Chuang's situation. Two days have passed and there's still no news. I don't know what's going on."

Han Xi and Shen Jiheng exchanged a glance, and she reassured him, "He's with his sister, so she definitely won't mistreat him. You can rest assured."

Han Yuxuan said sadly, "I miss my uncle so much. If he were here, he could play games with us. He's really good at it."

"Mom, I miss him too. You have to tell Uncle to come back soon." Han Yumo pouted, her face full of grievance.

Han Xi rubbed her little face and said, "Mom told you before that your uncle has an older sister, and he might go abroad to live with her."

Han Yue was the first to disagree, saying excitedly, "We absolutely cannot let him go with Han Xiao; that woman has wicked intentions."

Han Xi reminded him, "But don't forget, Han Xiao is the only one related to him by blood. If Xiao Chuang wants to live with her, we can't force him."

Han Xi didn't want to say such things, but wanted to give Han Yue some advance warning.

Now all she can do is slowly tie the siblings together and create the illusion that they've gone abroad.

Seeing that Han Yue was speechless, Shen Jiheng chimed in, "Han Xi makes sense. Besides, it doesn't matter where he lives, as long as he's doing well, we can still meet occasionally."

These words made Han Yue feel a little better. He nodded and said, "What you said makes sense. As long as he's okay, I have no objections."

Han Xi tried to keep a smile and replied, "That's right. Besides, you'll have to take care of them when you have time. You don't have that much energy to manage so many things."

Now all I can do is say things against my will to comfort Han Yue and make him stop being so fixated on Han Chuang's matter.

Han Yue sighed and said, "I understand what you mean. You want him to make his own choice. As long as he goes with Han Xiao voluntarily and keeps in touch with us from time to time, I won't blame him."

Hearing this brought Han Xi some comfort; at least he wouldn't be in pain because of his situation.

Han Yue added, "I feel very fulfilled now that I have them, my brother and sister."

Han Xi smiled and said, "Look at those siblings, they really love their grandfather."

This can be considered a form of compensation, and Han Xi only hopes that no further incidents will occur.

Han Yuxuan waved her hands, "The adults are done talking, it's time to play with the kids."

"Okay, I'll play games with you guys."

Seeing the smile on her face, Shen Jiheng knew she was hiding her inner pain.

Now that things have come to this point, they can only try to minimize the damage.

Shen Jiheng had many things to do and couldn't stay too long, so Han Xi saw him to the door.

Shen Jiheng rubbed her head and gently kissed her forehead.

"Don't think too much, just stay here with them and relax."

Shen Jiheng is worried about her going to the company and has asked her to stay here today.

"I'll listen to you. Remember to contact me if anything comes up."

See you later.

As she watched Shen Jiheng's car drive away, tears welled up in Han Xi's eyes again. She realized that when he was by her side, it was like a placebo that could calm her emotions.

Shen Jiheng understood all her emotions.

Han Xi shook her head. They couldn't rely on him too much. Shen Jiheng also had a lot of troubles to deal with, and they couldn't keep him by their side forever.

She took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and prepared to go back inside, but suddenly someone rushed out of the door, grabbed the iron gate, and shouted anxiously.

"Sister, save me!"

The person who came was none other than Han Xiao, the person Han Xi had been looking for.

She was dressed in rags and her hair was dirty; she looked exactly like a beggar.

Han Xiao brushed her hair aside and brought her face close, saying in a panic, "Sister, look, it's me, Han Xiao! Open the door quickly, someone's trying to arrest me."

Han Xi was incredulous, never expecting that she would actually come looking for her herself.

Leng Yu quickly stepped forward from behind, "President Han, what should we do with this person?"

Han Xi couldn't let her in. After a moment's thought, he said, "Go get the car quickly, we'll take her back to the Shen family."

If we let her in, we won't be able to keep Han Chuang's accident a secret.

Leng Yu nodded and immediately ran to the garage.

"Sister, I don't want to die, please save me."

"Shut up, or I'll get rough with you."

Han Xi shouted, afraid that the people inside the room would hear.

Leng Yu quickly drove the car over, and Han Xi ordered her to get in.

Not long after the car left the villa, Han Xi saw several people chasing her on the road. Seeing Han Xiao's panicked expression, it seemed that they were the people chasing her.

Han Xiao leaned back in his chair and took a deep breath, patting his chest as he said, "That was close, I almost got caught."

Before she could relax, Han Xi grabbed her clothes and pulled her to his side, glaring at her fiercely.

“Tell me, why did you do this? Do you know that you killed Xiao Chuang?”

Han Xiao trembled and sobbed, tears streaming down her face, saying, "I didn't want this to happen either. Suddenly someone in the prison contacted me and threatened me with death for no reason. They said they could get me out of prison, but I had to do something for them."

Han Xi saw that her body was covered in bruises and that her fingers had been severed, so he let go of her hand.

“After I was released from prison, I was controlled by a group of people. They told me to find a way to get close to Han Chuang so they could take him away. They said that as long as I cooperated, they wouldn’t hurt us.”

Han Xiao wiped away her tears and said painfully, "If I didn't listen, they would send me back to prison and kill me. I had no choice but to do as they ordered. I never thought it would lead to Xiao Chuang's death."

Shen Jiheng told her that the accident was caused by a chase between two cars, and it was definitely not caused by human error.

"But when you escaped from the car, why didn't you take him with you? You left him alone in the car."

Han Xiao replied through tears, "I tried, but I didn't have a chance. They wanted to catch me, and I was scared so I could only run. I thought they needed a hostage and would definitely save him, but I only cared about saving my own life."

Han Xi asked blankly, "But why didn't you contact us? You took him away on your own initiative. Are you capable of protecting him?"

“I just didn’t want to go back to prison. You don’t know how terrible they are. They really would kill me. I thought I would be fine as long as I cooperated. They told me it would only take a few days. I really didn’t mean it.”

Han Xiao didn't know how this happened. If she had another chance to start over, she would rather not leave prison.

Han Xi wanted to blame her, but seeing that she was forced into this situation and it was not of her own free will, how could he blame someone who was forced?

She only hated those who thought they had power and influence and didn't value other people's lives.
