Chapter 5 So You Knew
Zhuo Qingqian inquired about all the details of the case, recorded the conversation, and then, seeing that Han Xi had not yet returned, called her.
When the call connected, it wasn't Han Xi's voice that came through.
"Hello, this is Hengtian Hospital. The person who owned the mobile phone suffered a traumatic brain injury and has fainted. They are currently in the emergency room. Are you a family member of the patient?"
Zhuo Qingqian's breath hitched. "It's me. Where is she?"
"Emergency Room No. 3 at Hengtian Hospital, you'd better come over quickly to sign some papers, the patient has already fainted twice..."

The lights in the emergency room finally went out, and Han Xi was wheeled out, still unconscious.
She broke two ribs when she rolled down the stairs. Although they were set, she needs to rest, mainly because of the severe head injury.

Zhuo Qingqian, who had been watching over her, was dozing off when she heard the noise and woke up. Seeing that Han Xi was awake, she asked happily, "Xi Xi, how are you feeling?"
Zhuo Qingqian quickly helped her sit up, then poured some warm water and fed her some water through a straw.
"Thank goodness, I'm alright..."
Han Xi forced a reassuring smile.
At times like these, the person who stays by your side is your best friend, not your husband.
She fell down the stairs and cried for help from her husband, but he stayed with his beloved, deeply in love.

Tears welled up in Zhuo Qingqian's eyes. "You were so badly injured, how come you're alright? The doctor said if the cleaning lady hadn't found you in time, you might have died on that stairwell today..."

Shen Jiheng was surprised that Han Xi hung up on him. A crack appeared in his cold expression. He dialed again, but the phone was off.
The man impatiently tossed his phone onto the bedside table, grabbed a nightgown, and went into the bathroom.

In the hospital, Han Xi lay on the hospital bed with her eyes closed.
The pain in her chest and body kept her awake, so she pressed the call button. The doctor prescribed painkillers and she was able to fall asleep again.
