Chapter 74 Young Master Shen Did Not Disappoint Him
Shen Jiheng took her back to the apartment to pack her luggage, but Han Xi took a long time to fold a few pieces of clothing, which made him a little impatient.
"At this rate, you won't finish before dark."
Han Xi rolled her eyes at him, annoyed.
"If you can't wait, you can leave first. I didn't ask you to stay here. I'll go back by myself."
Although he was angry with him, Han Xi couldn't go back on his promise.
But that wouldn't work with Shen Jiheng. He had finally managed to get Han Xi to agree to return to the old house. If she went back alone, he didn't know how the two queens at home would scold him.
Seeing that Han Xi showed no intention of speeding up, Shen Jiheng immediately took out his phone.
"Don't bother with all that, I'll have the maid come and pack it up."
Han Xi was just trying to stall for time so she wouldn't leave with him. She wouldn't let him make a phone call, so she snatched the phone away and threw it on the bed.
"If you're in a hurry, come and help. Nobody just stands around watching someone move; you have to get involved."
Shen Jiheng was naturally unwilling. Why should he do it himself when a problem could be solved with just a phone call?
Han Xi teased him, "What's wrong? You have hands and feet, but you can't do anything? A noble young master like you would definitely starve to death if you were thrown into the wilderness."
Shen Jiheng was not to be provoked. He turned around, picked up his suitcase, and said, "You were still somewhere when I was in military training. Leave your things here and let me handle it."
Han Xi chuckled and nodded: "Alright, then let me see if the eldest young master of the Shen family can actually do any work."
After saying that, Han Xi sat down on the sofa and watched as he quickly took off his coat, unbuttoned his cuffs, and began to tidy up.
Surprisingly, Shen Jiheng, who is usually aloof and arrogant, is quite adept at packing his luggage.
An hour later, two large boxes of clothes were packed, and the rest of the items were also packed in packing boxes.
Shen Jiheng raised the corners of his eyes, a hint of pride on his face.
Han Xi clapped his hands: "Not bad, Young Master Shen did not disappoint."
Shen Jiheng's forehead was already beaded with sweat; he hadn't done this kind of work in years.
"Can we go now?"
The sooner he brought her back, the sooner he could finish his mission, and Shen Jiheng wanted to avoid any unforeseen complications.
Han Xi shook her head: "I'm a little sleepy. I can lie down for a while, you know pregnant women tend to sleep a lot."
Shen Jiheng felt that these words sounded familiar, as if they were the same shameless tricks he had used on Han Xi before.
"Han Xi, I think you're deliberately making things difficult for me. Go back to the old house, and you can sleep as long as you want without anyone bothering you."
"I want to sleep now, what can you do with me? Are you going to tie me up and take me back?"
Shen Jiheng understood. So she was also trying to make things difficult for him. He nodded, took two steps forward, and picked her up by the waist, startling Han Xi, who hurriedly struggled.
What are you trying to do?
Shen Jiheng said considerately, "You want to sleep, right? I'll carry you to bed so you can rest properly. I'm sleepy too, so let's take a nap together."
After he put Han Xi down on the bed, Han Xi jumped up as he was about to lie down.
"I'm not sleepy anymore, let's go!"
Shen Jiheng curled the corners of his lips into a smug smile. Han Xi was still too green to compete with him.
"Are you really not sleepy anymore? Don't try anything funny once we get in the car."
Han Xi grabbed his bag and walked out. He was the one playing tricks now!
"Stop talking so much, just hurry up and leave."
"Okay, I'll follow right away."
The joy of conquering Han Xi again put Shen Jiheng in a great mood; this feeling of outwitting and outmaneuvering was very interesting.
When Old Madam Shen heard that Shen Jiheng had brought her back, she called Madam Shen to wait at the door early, which showed how much she doted on this granddaughter-in-law.
Grandma Shen's greatest wish was to see her great-grandson before she died, and Han Xi brought her new hope.
As soon as Han Xi entered the door, the old lady warmly grasped her hand.
“You’ve worked so hard, kid. You’re so silly. If you’ve been wronged, just tell us so your mom and I can teach that brat a lesson.”
Shen Jiheng frowned slightly. He had already brought her home, why was he still not quiet?
Madam Shen considerately took the bag from her and led her back to the house.
As soon as Han Xi sat down, Madam Chen asked the nanny to prepare hot milk, showing her utmost care.
Shen Jiheng sat listlessly on the sofa, completely ignored by everyone.
"Han Xi, I've had your room rearranged. You need to be careful during the first three months of pregnancy, so stay here for now. Your grandmother and I will take care of you."
Han Xi smiled awkwardly. If she lived here, wouldn't she have to see Shen Jiheng every day?
She turned to look at Shen Jiheng, who looked completely indifferent, as if he had successfully completed his mission and gotten away with it.
If he hadn't used such despicable means, Han Xi wouldn't have come back with him.
"Grandma and Mom are both right, it's just that I haven't been sleeping well lately."
Madam Shen asked with concern, "Is something on your mind? I think I should take you to the hospital again tomorrow so the doctor can help you get some treatment."
Han Xi shook her head: "I've had two check-ups already. The doctor said it shouldn't be too frequent. It's just that the two of us can't sleep well. Maybe it's because Ji Heng is too noisy. So, moving out these past few days has actually helped a lot."
As soon as she finished speaking, two pairs of eyes shot towards Shen Jiheng. It must be because of what he did that Han Xi was angry, which is why she couldn't sleep well when she saw him.
Shen Jiheng shrugged helplessly. He hadn't even had a chance to speak since he entered the room, so why did it seem like he had done something wrong now?
Han Xi's explanation both clarified why he moved out and indicated that he could not live with Shen Jiheng.
The old lady said, "In that case, you should sleep in separate rooms. So that he can take care of you, he can live across from you. If you need anything, just call him."
Shen Jiheng looked at the old lady. She was truly his good grandmother. He wanted to take this opportunity to get closer to Han Xi, but she was creating a barrier between them.
These words were exactly what Han Xi wanted to hear, and she nodded.
"I'll leave everything to Grandma's arrangements, but I don't know if Ji Heng will listen."
Shen Jiheng responded with a forced smile: "Who would dare disobey Grandma? As long as you can focus on your pregnancy, that's more important than anything else."
The old lady seemed satisfied with what he said and patted him on the shoulder.
“You need to know your limits, kid. This guy is about to become a father, and he's still so unreliable.”
Shen Jiheng was both amused and exasperated. He was decisive and efficient in the business world, and no one dared to say a bad word about him, but he was useless at home.
Han Xi yawned, feigning drowsiness.
"Grandma, I'm a little sleepy. I want to go back to my room to rest first."
Shen Jiheng also stood up and said with concern, "Then I'll take you back to your room to rest, and then we can chat to ease your emotions."
The old lady nodded with satisfaction as she saw him become more considerate.
“Our family will live in harmony and wait for my great-grandson to arrive. You all need to be on your best and take good care of Han Xi.”
Shen Ji smiled but said nothing, supporting Han Xi's stiff back and helping him up.
"Let's go back to our room and talk."
Under the old lady's loving gaze, Han Xi smiled and followed Shen Jiheng upstairs.
Over the years since she married into the Shen family, the old lady and Mrs. Shen have treated her well, and she didn't want to hurt them.
Only Shen Jiheng is so inhuman, using such methods to bring her back.
