Chapter Fifty-Five: Covered with a layer of cow dung

Su Tang quickly walked behind the rock, dug out a handful of soil with her hands, and examined it closely.

The brown soil in her hand was damp and soft, with little sand content, and the soil particles were tightly bound together, making them difficult to separate. It was exactly the clay she was looking for to make pottery.

"It seems that Wolf Nini was right, there really is clay on this mountain!"

Su Tang was overjoyed. Since it was still early, she found a flat stone and began digging for clay.

The large area behind the rock was all clay like this.

After digging out several piles of clay, Su Tang picked some large leaves and tore down some vines. She divided the clay into several portions, packed them with leaves, and then tied them together with vines.

A large leaf contained dozens of kilograms of clay, and Su Tang filled ten of them before stopping.

This much clay should be enough to make pottery for the whole family.

Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Su Tang sat down against a rock to rest, looking up at the waterfall that had just cascaded down, and another question came to mind.

"I've found the clay, but how do I get back?"

She can't just go back the way she came!

The waterfall is flanked by steep rocks with no vegetation, making it impossible to climb up.

There were many animal tracks nearby, and Su Tang was worried that wild animals might approach at any time. However, carrying such heavy clay would make it even more dangerous for her to leave.

After thinking for a moment, she decided to wait here for her second brother to come find her.

Su Tang was very self-aware. If she encountered wild animals on her way out, she probably wouldn't be able to escape, so she might as well stay here.

The tall, thick tree trunk was like a wooden ladder. Su Tang grabbed the vines hanging down from the tree with both hands, braced her feet on the stones, and climbed up with a little leverage.

Looking at the dense vines overhead, Su Tang remembered that her older brother had asked her to take the thin vines back to make a cat tree.

The vines on this tree happened to be thin, strong, and very resilient, so she started pulling on them.

The vines were not easy to break, and Su Tang had to use a lot of effort to finally break two vines that were more than 20 meters long by grinding them with a stone.

The two vines were tied together, and they were bigger than her.

"This should be enough!"

Su Tang clapped her hands, about to sit down and rest, when suddenly she heard the sound of rustling grass in the distance.

She immediately became alert, covering herself with leaves and staring intently in the direction from which the sound came.

One second, two seconds...

A white wolf paw suddenly emerged from the grass!

Su Tang was taken aback, and then heard Su Jianyuan's anxious exclamation.

"Sister! Where are you... Can you hear me, sister!"

Upon hearing Su Jianyuan's voice, Su Tang instantly relaxed, shouting as she climbed down the tree:

"Brother, I'm here!"

A white wolf and a leopard quickly emerged from the bushes.

Seeing Su Tang appear before him unharmed, Su Jianyuan was so moved that tears welled up in his eyes.

"Little sister! I've finally found you! Didn't I tell you to keep up? How did you get separated from the group in the forest? I was so worried about you!"

Before Su Jianyuan could transform into human form, his leopard paws dug excitedly into the ground, and he spoke in human language.

"If anything happens to you, how am I supposed to explain it to my parents? My mother would skin me alive!"

God knows how scared he was when he discovered Su Tang was missing; his heart almost stopped beating.

If he couldn't find Su Tang, he was prepared to dig a hole nearby and bury himself.

Upon hearing this, Su Tang looked puzzled. "Brother, didn't you tell me to stay where I am and wait for you?"

"When did I tell you to wait for me there? The forest is so dangerous, I'd have to be crazy to leave you alone." Su Jianyuan stared blankly, thinking, "You can't slander someone like that!"

If his mother heard him say that, he would have his legs broken.

Suddenly, the brother and sister, who were looking at each other, realized something and turned to look at the little white wolf beside them.

Su Jianyuan gritted his teeth, "Xiao Fu!" That little wolf cub almost killed him!

Xiao Fu unconsciously shrank back two steps, realizing that something was wrong.

"I...I must have misheard. I'm sorry, brother."

Su Tang pressed Xiao Fu's head down and said to Su Jianyuan, "Never mind, Xiao Fu didn't do it on purpose."

Xiao Fu looked at Su Tang with gratitude, thinking that her older sister was the best!

The next second, a large dark shadow pressed down from above, and Xiao Fu staggered and was crushed to the ground.

"Xiao Fu, take these vines." Su Tang tossed the vines to Xiao Fu and led Su Jianyuan to get the clay.

Xiao Fu struggled to stand up, carrying the vines on his back, looking completely bewildered.

He suspected his sister did it on purpose, but he had no proof.

"Girl, is this clay? Can this be made into pottery?" Su Jianyuan looked at the plain-looking clay with a skeptical expression.

"We'll know once we go back and try it." Su Tang couldn't guarantee 100% success either.

She looked behind Su Jianyuan and suddenly remembered something:

"By the way, did you catch that wild boar you were chasing?"

When wild boars were mentioned, Su Jianyuan proudly raised his chin, puffed out his chest, and patted his chest twice. "Of course! Just look at who's hunting them. A wild boar is a piece of cake for them!"

"The wild boar was too heavy, and it would be difficult to find you if I carried it on the road, so I left it on the road and hid it."

This wild boar is much bigger than the black cow from yesterday.

"You actually caught me." Su Tang looked surprised, but didn't ask any more questions. She turned around to pack up the clay and prepare to take it away.

Su Jianyuan followed, displeased. "Hey! What's with your reaction? Your older brother is very powerful, you can't just look down on me like that..."

...

The three of them took the clay and went up the mountain via another path, where they found the wild boar that Su Jianyuan had hidden halfway up.

The wild boar was covered in blood and had been smeared with a layer of foul-smelling mud by Su Jianyuan. As soon as Su Tang got close, she smelled a strange odor.

She rubbed some "mud" on her fingers and felt that the texture was a bit strange, unlike ordinary soil.

"Brother, where did you dig this soil from? It smells so bad..."

Su Jianyuan said without turning his head:

"Oh, this is from when I came across a herd of cattle. There was cow dung on this, so I smeared it on to cover up the smell of blood so that wild animals wouldn't eat it."

Su Tang: "..." What should I do if I suddenly feel like punching someone?

There's a layer of mud under the cow dung; once it dries, it falls off when you tap it with a stick.

The wild boar was too heavy for Su Jianyuan to carry, so he had to tie it up with vines and drag it along.

Fortunately, the mountain wasn't far from home, and the three of them walked and stopped along the way, finally arriving home before dark.

"Mother, look what I brought back!"

As soon as he got home, Su Jianyuan put down the wild boar and couldn't wait to run off and show it off.

But after calling for a long time, no one came.

"Strange, where did everyone go?" Su Jianyuan frowned and looked around. When he looked at the open space in the distance, he suddenly stopped.

Su Jianyuan waved to Su Tang without turning his head:

"Sister, sister... come quick and see what that is?!"
