Su Tang and Xiao Fu were putting down the clay and thin vines. Because there were so many things, none of the three of them were idle on the way.
Upon hearing Su Jianyuan's voice, Su Tang walked over with a puzzled expression.
"What's all the fuss about? Can you really see ghosts in broad daylight...?"
As Su Tang spoke, she looked into the distance, but her voice trailed off as soon as she finished speaking.
He rubbed his eyes hard and opened his pupils wide to look in the direction Su Jianyuan was looking.
"This...this really is a ghost! What was that thing?!"
In the distance, some kind of monster was walking in the woods, and the trees in its path collapsed with a crash. In the blink of an eye, Su Tang had already seen a row of fallen trees.
After watching for a while, Su Tang realized something was wrong.
"No, this isn't a monster. Who's cutting down trees?"
Su Tang frowned and looked carefully at the ground in the woods.
A bluish shadow was flying rapidly, pausing for a few seconds at each tree it passed before the tree fell.
This process repeated itself, and a large number of trees in the forest had already fallen.
Not far away, the open space was filled again with wood that had been used up to build a toilet, even more than before!
Su Tang was dumbfounded. What was going on?
They've only been out for a day; even machines can't cut down trees that fast!
"Daughter, you're back!"
Just as they were in shock, Su Guodong, who had come back to get water not far away, saw Su Tang and quickly called out to Lin Xia in the distance.
"Honey! Our daughter's back!"
Not long after, Lin Xia ran back from the woods, carrying a basket woven from some unknown plant on her back.
Five cubs peeked out from behind Lin Xia, trying to crawl out, but as soon as they poked their heads out, Lin Xia ruthlessly pushed them back down like whack-a-mole.
"Tangtang, you're finally back! Are you tired? You're all sweaty..."
Before she even got close, Lin Xia's concerned voice was fired into Su Tang's ears like a barrage of cannon fire.
"I'm not tired, Mother." Su Tang shook her head, pointing towards the woods with a puzzled look. "What happened over there? Who's cutting down trees?"
"Oh, that's Daqing cutting down trees," Lin Xia said, turning around to look.
"Did Daqing cut down the tree?" Su Tang looked incredulous. This guy was not only good at hunting, but also so good at cutting down trees.
"Yes, look over there in that open space, it's all trees that Da Qing cut down. Shi Wei said that we can start building the wooden houses tomorrow!"
Lin Xia looked excited as she spoke, pulling Su Tang to the front of the open space to take a look.
As Su Tang approached, she discovered that there was more wood in the open space than she had imagined. Many large trees had left their branches and debris there before they could be cleared away, and the area was almost completely filled with wood.
The open space was divided into two halves. One half contained neatly stacked, clean pieces of wood, while the other half was a messy pile.
Su Shiwei was tidying up the trees she had cut down in the middle of the open space.
"With this wood, the wooden house should be built soon. Tangtang, what kind of room do you want to stay in? I'll go and talk to your brother."
Lin Xia was as excited as a child, her mouth constantly chattering.
“Yes, we’ll be able to move into our new house soon,” Su Guodong chimed in, his smile brighter than a blooming chrysanthemum.
Xiao Fu looked at Lin Xia, then at Su Guodong. He didn't know what the wooden house looked like, but ever since his family fell off the cliff, everything they did had brought good news, so this time would definitely be no different.
He also let out a silly "hehehe" laugh.
Never mind, as long as I live a good life with my current parents!
Su Jianyuan was once again forgotten in the back.
He walked behind Lin Xia, trying to get their attention by speaking:
"Mother, look what I brought back today! A huge wild boar, even bigger than yesterday's black ox..."
"By the way, a girl's room must face the sun and have good lighting!" Lin Xia said to Su Tang without hearing Su Jianyuan's words at all.
Su Jianyuan then looked at Su Guodong, gesturing with his hands as he spoke, "Father, a wild boar, a wild boar weighing over a thousand catties..."
Su Guodong seemed not to see him at all, slapped his fist against his palm, and said happily:
"We really owe a lot to Daqing today. I didn't expect Daqing to be so good at hunting and working. Let the boss reserve a room for Daqing too."
"I think it's fine." Lin Xia nodded, this time she had no objections.
Someone as capable as them deserves a room.
Since her daughter had already left him behind, it was better for him to be able to work than not to work. Gradually, Lin Xia started to find Da Qing more agreeable.
Su Jianyuan, who was being ignored: "..." You can't hear or see me when I speak, can you?
The couple talked to themselves, and Su Tang, genuinely curious about how Da Qing cut down the trees, casually gave a couple of replies and headed towards the woods.
Standing before the tree stump that had been cut in half, Su Tang looked up and gazed at it.
A large blue bird was pecking at the tree trunk with its sharp beak. With two "bangs," the tree made a "crack" sound, slowly tilted, and then crashed to the ground with a loud thud.
Su Tang was dumbfounded. Could trees really be cut down like that?
Is he born in the year of the woodpecker?
"A-Tang, you're back!"
Just as Su Tang was marveling at this, a large bluebird landed in front of her.
Upon seeing Su Tang, Da Qing immediately dropped what he was doing and flew over.
“I did some work at home today. Look, I knocked down a lot of trees. It was your brother who told me to do it.”
While excitedly showing off his work, Daqing didn't forget to explain, afraid that Sutang would think he hadn't done any work.
