Chapter Thirty-Four: This Cub Isn't Very Smart

Upon hearing this, Lin Xia thought the idea was feasible.

It's rare that her daughter would think of cubs and care so much about fluffy cubs; how could she, as a mother, not support her?

"Okay, then I'll clip the pheasant's wings, put it in a basket and keep it locked up. When I have time tomorrow, I'll make a chicken coop and raise it to lay eggs!"

Lin Xia smiled and agreed, even making detailed plans for the follow-up arrangements.

"Thank you, Mom," Su Tang said with a smile.

Before the fire was lit, Su Tang put the eggs and venison together, planning to make a steamed egg dish for the cubs as a snack when she cooked dinner.

Seeing that her parents were busy with their tasks, Su Tang remembered that she hadn't fed her the breast milk she had just changed. She poured the milk into the wooden bowl she had made that morning and prepared to feed her.

After a few days of getting used to it, Su Tang is now very skilled at breastfeeding.

The wooden bowl is specially made for kittens. To be precise, it's a large plate with a higher rim than a regular plate to prevent milk from splashing out, and the kittens can also reach it.

Previously, she would hold the kittens and feed them one by one with a spoon, but today the kittens have all opened their eyes, so she tried to let them eat on their own.

Su Tang entered the thatched shed and just put the wooden bowl on the ground.

The cubs heard the noise, twitched their ears, stretched their paws and yawned, rolled over to expose their furry little bellies, and some even yawned.

The cub with the largest belly was the fastest. Smelling the milk, it wobbled towards the wooden bowl.

The next three followed closely behind and caught up quickly.

The last one was skinny, its four paws moving independently, and it fell several times; it was practically walking on its head.

Su Tang: "..." This little kitten seems a bit dim-witted.

Seeing that the first few babies were already licking the milk, she couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she picked up the last one and placed it next to the wooden bowl.

The not-so-bright cubs finally got to nurse.

Five kittens huddled around the wooden bowl, licking it diligently with great effort, creating a heartwarming scene.

Surprisingly, Su Tang didn't feel any aversion to this scene; instead, she felt a sense of warmth and healing.

A warm smile unconsciously appeared in her bright eyes, and a unique sense of accomplishment welled up in her heart.

"Eat slowly. I'll keep you here from now on, and I won't let you go hungry."

Su Tang squatted down by the wooden bowl, intending to urge them to eat more slowly, when she suddenly noticed that the cubs' faces and heads were covered in white water stains.

Upon closer inspection, it became clear that the less intelligent cub was drinking milk like a water truck, "splashing" the milk all over the faces of the other cubs.

Su Tang sighed, "..."

This one is truly exceptionally stupid!

Su Tang didn't want to have to bathe the cubs every time she finished feeding them, so she made a small wooden bowl to separate the dumbest one and give it its own bowl.

After finally feeding the cubs, Su Tang felt utterly exhausted, both physically and mentally.

She took back her previous thought!

What sense of accomplishment? What healing? Raising kids is just creating trouble for no reason and causing endless trouble!

Su Tang washed the wooden bowl clean. Seeing that the hourglass had reached its bottom, she remembered the newly planted corn on the farm and flashed into the farm space.

The corn is ripe, with tall stalks reaching nearly three meters in height. There are three stalks in one field, and a total of twenty ears of corn hanging in two fields.

Each ear of corn is the same size, three times the size of a regular ear of corn.

Golden ears of corn hang down from above, like the wavy golden hair of a mermaid emerging from the sea, which is quite beautiful.

Su Tang couldn't wait to pick the corn.

I went to the warehouse to check the selling price of corn; it was three gold coins each.

It's three times more than Apple!

"These seeds are definitely worth the high price I paid." Su Tang was very satisfied with the price. She would recoup her investment after planting them for a day and then selling them.

At this rate, I can earn the 500 gold coins needed to unlock the third plot of land in less than two days.

There are still 42 apples in the warehouse, and Su Tang decisively chose to continue planting corn.

After finishing her business on the farm, Su Tang took eight more ears of corn and returned to the hay shed.

The cubs, having eaten and drunk their fill, continued to sleep soundly.

At this time, Su Shiwei was still cutting down trees, and the two elders had gone to the river to deal with the black goats and had not yet returned. Su Tang moved the corn out of the straw shed, intending to peel off the outer layer of husks and cook it when her second brother came back and started a fire.

Just as Su Tang moved the corn to the tree, she saw Xiao Fu return from somewhere.

After a period of self-isolation, Xiao Fu has come to terms with it.

He's still a cub, so finding an egg is already a good thing. If it were before, he should be happy to have meat at home, so why is he so gloomy?

Just then, he suddenly saw the green stick in Su Tang's hand, and the last trace of confusion in his mind disappeared. He curiously leaned closer.

"Sister, what is this?"

"This is corn, a kind of fruit..."

Just as Su Tang was about to explain, Xiao Fu's eyes lit up.

"Sister, did you find this fruit in the forest too? Is it delicious? What does it taste like?"

He blinked rapidly, staring intently at the corn in Su Tang's hand, and couldn't help but lick his lips.

The big fruit my sister picked before was delicious, so this fruit must taste just as good!

Looking at the gleam in his eyes, Su Tang wondered if there was something wrong with her eyes.

Is this still the same little wolf cub who looked at me with disgust when I first transmigrated?

How come he's changed so much in just two days?

"Yes, you'll know once you try it." Su Tang nodded, handed the corn cob to Xiao Fu, and prepared to teach him how to peel the husks.
