Chapter 40 Confession

Yelena quickly took out two collections, one for Sigourney and one for Ash.

Ash took it, unfolded it, and a full-length portrait of Sigourney appeared before his eyes: as if he had just experienced a fierce battle, the young man's long hair was disheveled, his face was stern, and he tilted his head to look over here. The sharp murderous aura almost cut through the paper, piercing people's hearts.

It is so beautiful that even if it is cut into pieces, I can't bear to look away.

Like a flower blooming from the eternal blue ice, the icicles are sharp, yet crystal clear. I know they are extremely hard, but I can't help but worry that my breath will melt them.

Only the top three beauties were listed on the wide page. But anyone who opened the newspaper would be attracted by this young man first, and would not be able to pay attention to the other two.

The same goes for Ash.

He still has no idea what the other two people's names are or what they look like.

I don't want to take another closer look.

He raised his head, his eyes moved around the face of the real Sigourney, and then lowered his head to read the newspaper. After going back and forth several times, it was as if a hot spring was bubbling up in his heart, warm and swollen, like a full meal, and extremely satisfied.

This is probably the feeling of happiness that comes from being able to get close to the person himself while others can only read newspapers.

On the other hand, Sigourney only took a confirmatory look at this "discerning" newspaper, and then she put the newspaper away in a very good mood and put it into her space bracelet.

Then he crossed his arms and watched with interest as Ash repeatedly lowered his head and raised it, "watching" his series of actions completely openly.

Ash, who was so mesmerized by the young man's beauty, didn't notice this at all.

On the other hand, Yelena nervously moved closer to Ivan and hissed softly, fearing that Sigourney would get annoyed by being looked at and slap Ash off the train.

In the green cradle covered by vines, the atmosphere unconsciously became silent, and the circulation of air seemed to stagnate.

At this moment, Ash noticed the subtle atmosphere. His eyes wandered around the small space and fell on the two siblings with bleak faces, revealing a puzzled look.

"Ash Alwin." A person sat down on the other half of the seat beside him. The action of sitting down brought up a chill in the air, just like the sound of the voice, which had a strong presence in Ash's heart.

Ash didn't have time to wonder, he turned his head and was dazzled by the perfect face so close to him.

Coincidentally, the owner of this face was leisurely asking, "Does it look good?"

Ash said firmly, "It looks good!"

"like?"

"like!"

Quite discerning. Sigourney raised her eyebrows, thinking that this contract partner still had some merits.

"I like you very much." The boy said seriously.

Didn't I tell you that? Sigourney looked at him in surprise, then subtly realized something and frowned slightly. Wait a minute, isn't that right?

"But it's more than just the face." Ash looked at him intently, his light blue eyes like a frozen lake that had just melted, extremely clear, as if he was laying out his feelings in the sun without any obstruction, "I'm very grateful to you. I think you're amazing, but I also feel sorry for you. I want to be hugged by you, and I also want to hug you."

After he finished speaking, he couldn't help but pursed his lips and smiled shyly, with a hint of shyness in his shallow dimples.

I feel like I said something really remarkable.

Feeling sorry for Sigourney and wanting to hug her, when said by a guy like him who is not even a wizard apprentice and is poor and less than seventeen years old, it sounds like an overestimation of one's own abilities.

But what he said came from his heart.

During the day, I had clearly made a detailed plan in my mind, including what to say first and how to express my feelings, but when I got in front of the real person, those drafts were automatically cleared, and those words seemed to have self-awareness, and they lined up and popped out from the tip of my tongue one by one.

Of course, he didn't intend to grit his teeth and stop them from coming out.

Because after I said it, I found that these words were exactly what I wanted.

So despite his embarrassment, he did not look away, and looked into Sigourney's dark red eyes without blinking, trying to make Sigourney understand his sincerity.

Sigourney: “…” The bad premonition came true.

What should I say at this time? Although she had a face that was favored by the Moon Goddess, this was indeed the first time that someone confessed to her, and Sigourney was a little confused.

Ash had acted so frankly, so of course he knew that Ash really liked him.

But this "real" thing was something he had never encountered before, nor had he ever dealt with it before, so he was a little confused.

Still a little anxious.

There must be a reason why no one has taken a fancy to him over the years. What's wrong with this country boy who knows nothing and understands nothing, and yet he speaks his mind and talks nonsense here?

He let out an imperceptible "tsk", and his brows were once again covered with the familiar indifference of Ash: "Do you know that it is easy to speak too bluntly..."

"Easy to get beaten." Ash took over the conversation naturally, "I know."

Sigourney: “…”

He was always the one who talked other people to death, but this was the first time someone else talked him to death.

He half-closed his eyes, raised his hand and pinched Ash's face, which looked more and more unpleasant to the eyes. He couldn't continue talking, so he just took action.

Ash: "Hmm?"

"You have good taste." Sigourney said expressionlessly, "Unfortunately, I also have good taste."

"Hmm?" So?

"It's normal for you to like me." The beautiful young man said coldly, "But you can understand that I don't like you, right?"

Ash suddenly realized, and then nodded calmly.

Sigourney: "..." You accepted it so easily? You acted so sincere just now?

He lowered his eyes, loosened the hands that were pinching his face, stood up listlessly, and planned to go back to his coffin.

He knew that if he stayed here the whole night, the three people in this space probably wouldn't be able to get a good rest that night.

They were different from him, they were creatures that lived in the daytime.

But before he took a step, a serious and determined voice came from behind him -

"Sigourney, I will try my best to live up to your standards."

He turned around in surprise and saw the young boy's expression firm and pleading: "So, can you wait for me for a while?"

A sincere look.

He narrowed his eyes, pursed his thin lips slightly, snorted noncommittally, then opened the coffin lid and walked in.

"Did he agree?" After a moment, Yelena broke the silence in a trembling voice.

Ash nodded confidently.

Yelena felt suffocated by his confident attitude: "I think you probably misunderstood." She pulled Ivan's sleeve, trying to get his approval, "Right, brother? - Brother?!"

Ivan, with a look of confusion on his face, was finally awakened by Yelena, with his worldview shattered.

"Ash..." He hesitated for a while, and finally turned his head to look at Yelena, and said suddenly, "Did I fall asleep just now?"

Sleep! Yelena raised her hand and pushed her brother away, saying he was unreliable and not as calm as she was at the beginning!

"Okay. Just assume he agreed." After struggling for a long time, she looked at Ash, whose eyes were shining and full of fighting spirit, and murmured to herself, "Anyway, it's good news for me, so I'll just believe you this time."

After saying this, she covered her cheek with her hands as if she had a toothache as she had said these self-deceiving words. It was so painful. In order to become a student who could become good friends with, she became blindly optimistic and unrealistic.
