Chapter 41: Looking from afar

No one except Ash could sleep well on the first night on the train.

Yelena had a lot to say, but she thought that night was different from daytime. What if Sigourney was awake? So she decided to keep it to herself. She tossed and turned and couldn't sleep.

Ivan simply had a stomachache, and the usual stomach medicine was of no use. He gritted his teeth and endured it silently, tossing and turning and unable to sleep.

Ash Elwyn, the instigator, lay on the fluffy grass buds, smelling the fragrance of the plants, and fell into a sweet dream.

I had been planning what to do and what to say during the day, and now that I had basically achieved my goals, I felt relaxed. How could I not be able to sleep?

In the flowing light of dreams, he saw Sigourney again, walking towards him step by step.

When I can't sleep, the bad guy is sleeping soundly. It's unbalanced no matter how I think about it.

But he didn't dare to make too much trouble. What if Sigourney was in a bad mood? Wouldn't this give him an outlet to vent?

And the only one who naively thought that if I didn't sleep, you couldn't sleep either was Yelena. No matter how shocked Ivan was, he was still the calm and responsible elder brother. In the long night, he decisively stopped Yelena from making any moves.

The second day.

It was still dark when Ash woke up.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw a resentful face approaching me, with two dark circles under its bright features and accusatory eyes.

"Yelena?" Ash recognized the face. "Morning. Didn't you sleep well?"

As he spoke, he sat up.

"What do you mean early? You haven't slept at all." Yelena sat down next to him depressedly, "I was surprised that you could sleep."

Ash was puzzled: "Why can't you sleep?"

Yelena gritted her teeth: "This is my problem, why can I sleep!"

Ash looked at her innocently, because there was no reason why he couldn't sleep.

Yelena, who had not slept all night, was very angry: "..."

Ivan, who was watching, silently pointed to the magic circle next to his seat and put away the green vines. He hadn't slept all night, so he sorted out his thoughts. He looked at Ash with admiration and said, "Aren't you afraid that he will be angry after saying that last night?"

Here, everyone present knew who he was referring to.

Ash shook his head, "He won't be mad."

Yelena snorted in dissatisfaction: "How do you know he won't?"

Ash smiled softly: "But in fact, he is not angry."

She didn't seem angry. Yelena choked: "Are you a prophet?"

Unexpectedly, Ash hesitated for a moment and actually nodded.

Yelena and Ivan didn't take Ash's nod seriously at that moment, thinking it was just a joke. It was only much later when they thought about it again that they realized that they were the ones who were closest to a miracle.

The three were given a "cleansing spell" using a wizard's method, and after breakfast, even those who were sleepless and drowsy felt a little more energetic. When the sun rose outside the window, their bodies were awakened by the sunlight, and their limbs and torsos were full of energy.

After Yelena's envy and jealousy of Ash's high-quality sleep subsided, she began to develop a strong desire for gossip.

She still sat next to Ash and expressed the emotion she had been holding back all night: "Ash, I really want to know where the source of your courage is? The deep sea valley? Why can't I see the bottom?"

Ivan raised his eyes and glanced at them. He stopped constructing the spell model in his spiritual world and listened silently.

Ash felt that Yelena didn't mean to ask this, so he waited patiently for her next words.

"You actually confessed to me in person?" Yelena shook her head in disbelief. "Although I know you are very brave, this is too... Aren't you afraid of being rejected?"

"But if I don't tell him now, what should I do if he gets chased away by someone else later?" Ash said seriously, "I don't want to cry while looking at their sweet backs."

How could anyone dare to pursue Sigourney? Before she could refute this, Yelena froze in her tracks. Hey, Ash's words sounded like déjà vu.

"Didn't Yelena tell me to go ahead?" Ash narrowed his eyes.

I let you... I let... Yelena suddenly had an idea. Thanks to the wizard's mental power that was far superior to that of ordinary people, she finally remembered -

"If you are a man, you should be brave enough to pursue her. Why play the game of secret crush? If you don't act quickly and take action early, one day she will be pursued by someone else, and you will cry bitterly watching their sweet backs."

It seemed as if she had said this to Ash herself.

At that time, she naively thought that "he" was "she".

Thinking back on it, she had had some bad intentions towards Ash's handsome face at that time, and said something like "If you want to fall in love in the future, why not consider giving me a try."

Yelena covered her face with her hands. Oh my god! How nervous! How exciting! She almost competed with Sigourney for the partner!

"Yelena?" Ash raised his hand and patted Yelena's shoulder, comforting her clumsily, "What's wrong with you? I think what Yelena said makes sense. I tried it and it turned out to be true."

Yelena buried her face in her palms, burying it deeper. So, was she the one who caused her insomnia last night? !

What did she instill in this boy who had no idea about love?

"It's my fault." Yelena sighed heavily.

It seemed that Ash, who had failed in his attempt to comfort her, “……?”

Ivan discovered that his sister had strongly resented Ash at the beginning, but now she is blaming herself: "..." What happened in between?

Yelena kept reading books to Ash for the whole morning. Her adventure novels also included love stories, which should give the young boy with a blank slate the correct introduction to love.

Ash did not refuse. He has always loved reading. No matter what type of book it is, he will read it carefully from beginning to end.

At noon when the sun was at its hottest, Yelena, feeling guilty, enthusiastically pulled Ash to look out the window: "Although it's still a long day to get to the Royal City, but Ash, look! We can already see the Royal City's wizard tower from here!"

Ash looked up from the novel and followed her gaze out, not noticing the distance, and was first struck by the snowfield that had replaced the tundra without him noticing.

It also snows in Duogu Village in winter, but it is very rare and the snow cannot cover the entire ground.

But now outside the window, the snow is vast and boundless, without the slightest color, as if the whole world is pure white.

"So beautiful." Ash couldn't help but murmur, "So spectacular."

"It's the same in the Royal City. I'll take you to play in the snow then." Yelena was eager to show off the wizard tower in the Royal City and patted him on the shoulder. "Look over there! Over there!"

Ash finally looked over as she wished, and squinted her eyes hard, only then could she vaguely see the outline of a wizard tower that seemed to be half submerged in the clouds.

How can you still see it from such a distance?

How tall and majestic is that wizard tower?

"How many did you see?" Yelena asked.

"One," Ash replied.

"We only saw one." Yelena sighed, "It's still a bit far away. Let's wait and see. What you just saw was the wizard tower of the throne, which is in the middle of the royal city. But there are three more wizard towers around the royal city, the first, second, and third wizard towers under the throne, each on one side, guarding the Brilliant Royal City. Let's see it again in the afternoon, and then you'll be able to see our third wizard tower."

Ash nodded in response.

"Stop looking, it's time for lunch." Ivan called to the two younger ones.

Ash and Yelena sat back in their seats and saw the waiter on the train pushing the dining cart and placing the food in front of them one by one.

"Enjoy your meal," the waiter whispered, pushing the dining cart towards the next passenger.

"We ordered whitebait risotto today," Ivan said. "Whitebait is a specialty of the polar ice sheet. Ash, try it. Do you like it?"

Ash looked down and saw a thick layer of transparent fish luxuriously spread on the rice. The fish was crystal clear and looked more like a work of art than food. But the faint sweet fragrance that wafted into his nose hinted at its deliciousness.

"That's rare." Yelena picked up the spoon and smiled happily, "Brother, you've had a lot of bleeding today!"

She scooped up a spoon, happily filling the spoon with little silver fish, and then put it into her mouth.

However, she failed to get this full spoonful into her mouth.

Ash frowned and grabbed her wrist, "Wait a minute!"

"What's wrong?" Yelena asked. She was very greedy because of the smell, but she was very depressed because the food was stopped from her mouth.

"This silver fish..." Ash hesitated, "something seems wrong."
