Chapter 212 I fired the caregiver
After Chen Xiaohui left, Li Man drifted off to sleep again.
When she woke up again, she saw Huo Jiansheng.
This is a spacious single hospital room. The curtains on both sides are half-drawn in the middle, and the setting sun shines through the window glass, falling on Huo Jiansheng. The soft light envelops him, making him look exceptionally gentle.
Riemann's heart skipped a beat.
In front of Huo Jiansheng was a small square table with a laptop on it. He pursed his lips and his long, slender fingers rapidly tapped the keyboard, completely focused, unaware that she had already woken up.
Riemann didn't want to disturb him, so she just watched him quietly until the sun began to set and the light gradually dimmed, plunging the entire room into darkness.
The cool light from the laptop screen softened his otherwise rugged features.
Having finally finished his work, Huo Jiansheng stretched and subconsciously looked at the person on the hospital bed.
In the dim light, a pair of bright eyes gleamed.
"You're awake?"
Huo Jiansheng's lips unconsciously curled up as he stood up and turned on the light switch on the wall. Instantly, bright light filled the entire room.
"When did you wake up? Why didn't you wake me?"
The man's voice was deep and gentle, and Riemann blushed unconsciously.
Fortunately, her face is now covered in bruises, so it's not noticeable.
She cleared her throat awkwardly and said, "I just woke up too. I saw you were busy, so I didn't want to bother you. When did you arrive?"
"I arrived this afternoon." Huo Jiansheng smiled and asked gently, "Are you hungry? I'll feed you."
“No need, I can do it myself,” Riemann quickly replied.
"Can you manage on your own?" Huo Jiansheng asked, looking at the person lying motionless on the hospital bed with a question in his mind.
“I can do it,” Riemann said urgently.
Huo Jiansheng laughed, "You can't even move, how are you going to eat by yourself?"
"Although I can't move my body, I can move my hands."
To prove it, Riemann quickly raised her hands, but the pain in her arms still made her wince.
Huo Jiansheng laughed and said, "Don't be stubborn. Lie down properly and I'll feed you."
As he spoke, he picked up the insulated lunchbox from the bedside table, opened it, and filled a small bowl with porridge.
After serving the porridge, he went to the foot of the bed and rocked it.
Is this height enough?
"Okay, thank you," Riemann said quickly.
Huo Jiansheng pulled up a stool, sat on the edge of the bed, picked up the porridge, scooped up a small spoonful, gently blew on it, and then brought it to Li Man's lips. "Come on, open your mouth."
Li Man's face instantly turned red, and she opened her mouth shyly to eat the porridge that Huo Jiansheng fed her.
"Is it delicious?" Huo Jiansheng asked expectantly.
"Mmm-hmm." Riemann nodded quickly. "Delicious."
"Hmm, the porridge at this shop is pretty good. If you like it, I'll buy you some more tomorrow."
“No need!” Li Man quickly said, “Really, there’s no need to go to so much trouble. You’re so busy, you don’t need to come every day. I have a caregiver.”
Huo Jiansheng smiled and said, "I've fired your caregiver."
Riemann stared in shock. Resigned? They actually fired her caregiver?
Riemann forced a smile. "Why did you fire my caregiver?"
"I can take care of you, why waste money hiring a caregiver?" Huo Jiansheng said confidently.
