Chapter 9 The Mouse, The Mouse, The Black Cherry: I just love being with mice...

"Who are you calling tasteless!" Takanashi Chika raised her voice, setting a trap for Gin.

Gin didn't crawl into the trap, but instead looked around and said, "Your refrigerator is full of fast food or eggs. With such a big kitchen, don't you know how to cook something else?"

"I just love eating sandwiches."

"You only know how to make sandwiches, right?"

"Don't underestimate me!" Takanashi Chinatsu retorted, adding that she could also cook noodles.

What's Gin doing here today? He started picking a fight with her the moment they met!

Takanashi Chika quickened her pace, deliberately walking up to Gin, tilting her head back to look at him coldly. When her green eyes, identical to Gin's, became serious, they exuded a certain imposing aura.

Gin walked around her and pointed to the bedroom, saying, "Buy a cage and lock that crow up if you don't want bird poop everywhere."

"The crow is very clever; it knows where to poop!"

"Birds are straightforward; no matter how smart they are, it won't work."

Takanashi Chinatsu put on a stern face. Gin was getting more and more annoying. He was even meddling in her affairs. What right did he have to interfere?

"Your teacher called me and said you skipped class."

Chinatsu Takanashi looked completely bewildered.

Make a phone call... Teacher... Make a phone call...

Wait, isn't she in university?

Is she still in elementary school?

The teacher... is calling the parents?

No, Gin isn't her parent!

Takanashi Chika was clever and quickly realized what was happening. She glared angrily at Gin, thinking, "That bastard actually ambushed the organization's people at the university!"

"I don't expect you to be academically successful, but I'm curious, what did you do after you skipped class?" Gin looked at Chinatsu Takanashi.

Takanashi Chinatsu sneered and said, "Go meet the mouse."

Gin frowned.

"Not only did I meet a mouse, but I also ate a meal with a mouse and made plans to play together in the future. Can't you smell it? I smell like a mouse!" Takanashi Chinatsu stretched out her hand to him, indicating that he should smell it himself.

Gin's eyes darkened, and he forcefully pressed her arm down.

"What? You're afraid to smell it? Are you afraid of being overwhelmed by the smell of rats?" Takanashi Chinatsu didn't press him to smell it anymore, but she still teased him relentlessly: "Some people have the desire but not the courage. I don't know what they're so arrogant about. Do others even know that you're impotent?"

Gin's brow furrowed so deeply it could trap a fly, and he scolded, "Who taught you to say that?"

"Of course I'm self-taught. You brought me back, and now you're blaming me for going astray? Don't you know what kind of people you surround yourself with?" Takanashi Chinatsu tossed her hair, her face full of disdain.

Kenji Hagiwara stood there, not daring to say a word. He never pried into Chinatsu Takanashi's private affairs, but with the cold-faced god here today, he seemed to know a bit too much, and Chinatsu Takanashi made no attempt to avoid him.

Danger! Yan Er Jiang, danger!

Kenji Hagiwara was so anxious he was pacing back and forth. The fact that Chinatsu Takanashi was suddenly talking about these things without avoiding him was not a good sign for him.

Gin pursed his lips, momentarily unable to refute.

When he was silent, his green eyes dimmed, no longer displaying his former imposing presence. Although his body was ramrod straight, he unexpectedly appeared somewhat pitiful.

"I bought you a car, it will be more convenient for you to travel in the future." After a while, Gin took out a car key and handed it to her, along with a driver's license.

Takanashi Chika looked at him suspiciously. Although Gin was a useless ex, his money was very useful.

This house was bought with Gin's money.

Gin has now given her the car as well.

Gin's secondary card is still in Takanashi Chinatsu's hands.

Is this guy using a money offensive?

Unrequited love? Deeply devoted affection?

Vermouth described it that way, and told her to make as much money as possible while Gin was still around, because money was the only thing in the world that would never betray her.

That makes perfect sense, so Takanashi Chinatsu didn't hesitate and grabbed the car keys and driver's license.

"Chinatie, don't do it! You'll get arrested!" Kenji Hagiwara was shocked. Chinatie had just turned 18 and hadn't even taken a driving test. This was clearly a fake license!

Chika Takanashi, however, was not worried. The fake certificate issued by the organization was the real certificate, and it was entered into the official information database and could withstand scrutiny.

"Are you staying here tonight?" Takanashi Chinatsu asked. She didn't mind at all, but she thought Gin might.

As expected, Gin shook his head.

"I just heard you skipped class to come see you. If you don't want to talk to me, then forget it." Gin finished speaking and started to walk out, but turned back at the door and asked, "You seem to like Scotland?"

Worried that Gin would cause trouble for him, Takanashi Chinatsu said seriously, "We are good friends."

"Okay." Gin opened the door and left.

He left decisively, just like many times before.

Takanashi Chika sat on the sofa, speechless. What did Gin mean by "okay"? She really couldn't understand what he meant. But he probably wouldn't cause trouble for Scotland. It had always been like this. As long as they were considered friends by her, Gin would never do anything to them.

Feeling a bit cold, Kenji Hagiwara leaned closer.

Kenji Hagiwara was still floating, but he pretended to be sitting on the sofa. As soon as Chika Takanashi looked over, he gave her a well-behaved and ingratiating smile.

"Chinatsu-chan, I was wrong." Kenji Hagiwara didn't express his doubts. He had already upset Chinatsu, so he wouldn't ask any more questions.

He clasped his hands together and bowed to Takanashi Chika as if pleading, his eager and ingratiating manner making her hallucinate their first meeting two years ago.

At that time, Kenji Hagiwara coaxed her into agreeing to move in in such a clever way.

"I went to the shrine today," Takanashi Chinatsu told him calmly, without her usual bright and enthusiastic smile.

Kenji Hagiwara looked confused for a moment, then quickly became dejected, looking at her pitifully.

"Don't worry, I won't have anyone get rid of you. I just want someone to send you to the afterlife." Takanashi Chika said calmly, "Hagiwara, you are already dead. Everything in this world has nothing to do with you anymore. It was your obsession that kept you here, but the dead can't do anything. If you have any regrets, you should reincarnate as soon as possible so that you can do the things you couldn't do in this life."

Kenji Hagiwara sighed. How could he not understand such a common-sense truth?

But he was unwilling and reluctant. He only wanted his family and friends in this life. He wished he could see them again, even if it was just once more.

"China-chan, could you..."

"No." Takanashi Chinatsu refused decisively: "The 10th of next month is the day you pass away. During this period, I will not help you find family and friends. You know, I will never be soft-hearted when I shouldn't be."

Kenji Hagiwara sighed in despair.

"Goodnight, Hagiwara." Takanashi Chinatsu said "Goodnight" as usual and went back to her room to rest.

Kenji Hagiwara did not reply this time. He lowered his head, his fingers unconsciously clenching his clothes, and his back trembled slightly.

A note from the author:
