Chapter 33 Black Cherry's Prank Plan: How could you be so ruthless...?
As Gin stepped out of Chika Takanashi's apartment, his smile faded.
So cute! Even when Chinatsu looks embarrassed and angry, she's adorable.
Such a lovely girl should not be allowed to wallow in hatred forever.
Let's wait a little longer," Gin's eyes darkened. He had originally planned to tell her the truth soon, but his wife was too perceptive and had too keen eyes, so everything had to be planned carefully.
In the black Porsche, Gin opened the car door and gave a cold laugh as he sat in the driver's seat.
"I know you've never been a driver before, but you don't have to look like you're about to kill someone, do you?" a muffled voice came from the back seat.
The Porsche originally didn't have a rear seat, but it was later modified to add a comfortable seat so that Chinatsu Takanashi could lie down in the back.
But now, a man is lying on the cloud-soft back seat.
The car had driven quite a distance when Bacardi cautiously climbed out of the back seat, turning his head warily around, muttering nervously, "If this gets discovered, I'm really out of options."
“Sir, you are indeed omnipotent,” Gin said quietly.
Bacardi shuddered and his voice became even more cautious: "Even you say that, so it's a bit like a horror story."
Gin scoffed.
"Gin, that's not how you pursue girls. Look at you, you're practically turning them into enemies." Bacardi put his hand on Gin's shoulder, speaking earnestly.
"Don't you want your hand anymore?"
Bacardi hurriedly raised his hand and said with an embarrassed smile, "Yes, I want more."
"What did Rum ask you to do today?"
Bacardi sighed and said helplessly, "He told me to find a way to provoke Scotland and then take the opportunity to kill him. You understand, Rum has been in a high position for a long time, and he definitely can't tolerate a small fry like Scotland daring to provoke him."
"But you failed to do it."
“That’s normal. Although it’s not a big deal for me to kill a Scottish man, Rum could understand since you and Black Cherry were there at the time.”
Gin did not respond.
After a long while, Bacardi complained as if he could no longer contain himself: "Okay, I admit, Rum is a little unhappy with me, especially since I didn't take the opportunity to put you on the hot seat today. He probably already doubts my loyalty."
As Bacardi spoke, he slapped himself hard.
The sound was exceptionally loud.
But clearly, he felt that he wasn't the one who should be punished.
"You can't blame me, can you? It's one thing to criticize you for putting on an act in front of Rum on ordinary days, but in this situation today, if I had really put you in the spotlight, you'd be in the interrogation room right now, not having the leisure to worry about Black Cherry." Bacardi said, exasperated. "Can't you act a little more like a man? You indulge her every whim. If it weren't for her, how could my flawless undercover operation have made a mistake? Rum has trusted me the most all these years!"
Gin ignored all of his complaints and only addressed the most crucial question: "If it weren't for Black Cherry, would I need you to go undercover?"
Bacardi immediately cursed, but then said helplessly, "You guys are all crazy. You'd risk your lives for her. Don't you know what Black Cherry is up to? Smino did the same thing. Even after his undercover work was exposed, he still insisted on going back just to take her away. If it weren't for her, Smino would have escaped long ago with his abilities, and he wouldn't have died at your hands."
Gin remained silent throughout, letting him complain.
"You're all crazy, you're all insane!" Bacardi said, his throat dry, but seeing that Gin showed no sign of backing down, he became even more annoyed.
Finally, Gin spoke, but what he said was not what Bacardi wanted to hear: "You should protect her, not try to persuade me."
Bacardi's eyes were practically blazing with fury, but Gin's words extinguished it all.
“The person who saved your life was Smirnoff, not me. You’re with me because you want to protect Smirnoff’s adopted daughter.” Gin’s words left Bacardi speechless.
The organization is full of cold-blooded and ruthless people. They run away faster than anyone else when danger strikes, but rush forward when there is profit to be made.
People who grow up in a cold and ruthless environment will naturally learn to be profit-driven.
But Bacardi happened to run into Smirnoff.
When he was in danger, it was Smino who saved his life. That incident greatly shook him and gradually made him more human, preventing him from growing into the profit-driven person he was used to.
But he... but he...
“Gin, you have to know that I also worked very, very hard to get to where I am today,” Bacardi said, his voice filled with pain.
Gin didn't even glance at him, his tone nonchalant: "Then you can pretend you know nothing, and stop worrying about me and Black Cherry. Just be Rum's loyal dog, that's what everyone else in the organization does anyway."
Bacardi was both angry and annoyed, but he couldn't retaliate.
He was indeed afraid.
He feared losing power, feared Rum's suspicion, and feared that he might lose his life in the blink of an eye.
Today's leniency was too obvious. He could explain to Rum that he was doing it to protect himself, that he was worried that if he went too far, Gin would settle scores later. But no matter what, what he did today was clearly not to Rum's liking.
Although there was no overt betrayal, falling out of favor was only natural.
Ultimately, Smino is already dead, so is it really necessary to do this just for an adopted daughter?
Bacardi knew he was being despicable. He didn't give up directly, but instead tried to persuade Gin to let go. He just wanted to find an ally to prove he was right and to lessen his guilt.
He just couldn't understand why Gin was so insistent. He hadn't gotten along well with Smino before, and had even killed Smino himself.
"Gin, you really like her, don't you?" Bacardi asked listlessly.
As often as before, Gin did not refute.
No objection means tacit agreement. If it weren't for genuine affection, how could he have gone to such lengths for her? Bacardi's expression became even more disheveled. Gin did it for love, while he was destined to jeopardize his future for the life-saving grace he received back then.
"You, someone like you, actually understand love?" Bacardi uttered a low, mocking tone, which also sounded like self-mockery.
"Who is the new confidant that Rum wants to cultivate?" Gin uses him and then discards him, showing no attachment to Bacardi, and is already preparing to turn the next one against him.
Bacardi's facial muscles twitched slightly as he reluctantly answered, "Bourbon."
Gin's eyes widened in surprise.
“What’s so surprising? Although he’s only been with us for three years, his intelligence skills are very high. He’s one of Rum’s top intelligence agents. But Rum probably values him because he took the initiative to stand up to Scotland today.” Bacardi said, a deep sarcasm in his eyes.
That's how people in high positions are.
They are high above, in control of everything, and extremely suspicious.
If someone does something that displeases you, you can throw away years of friendship in an instant. But if someone does something that wins your favor, even if they are already exceptionally capable, they can rise to the top overnight thanks to your promotion.
Bourbon was not only daring, but also incredibly lucky, as Rum just happened to see him.
"Help me kill him?" Bacardi asked with a smile.
Gin pondered for a moment and said, "I'll make contact first and see if I can use them to my advantage."
Bacardi rubbed his forehead and smiled bitterly, muttering a curse under his breath: "Gin, you're so heartless, you'll never be able to win over Cherry Blossom in this lifetime."
Gin finally glanced at him in the rearview mirror and said, "It's not like I'm asking you to die to make way for him, so you don't need to be so resentful. You're not so naive as to think you'll always be favored, are you?"
"But at least try to help me!"
“Even without Bourbon, Rum would train someone else. Bacardi, he doubts you. You have to accept your fate.” Gin coldly punctured the bloody reality.
Bacardi suddenly seemed to lose all his strength and said listlessly, "How boring, Gin. It's no fun when things are too obvious."
Gin completely ignored him, having already made his own plans.
Chinatsu Takanashi is known for her vindictive nature; she's the one who provokes others, not the other way around, not even by provoking her subordinates!
On a sunny afternoon, Chinatsu and Scotland sat at a coffee table, heads close together, whispering secrets.
“Bourbon’s most frequent car is a white Mazda with the license plate number xxxxxx. I heard he really likes that car, so I’m planning to start with his car.” Takanashi Chinatsu rubbed her hands together, eager to try.
Scotland immediately tensed up and asked, "Deploy bombs?"
"no!"
"Cut his brake lines?" Scottish broke out in a cold sweat. At the speed he had known since childhood, it would be dangerous even for a skilled driver like him if there were no brakes.
"NO! NO! NO! Scotland, how come you have no originality at all?" Takanashi Chinatsu glared at him with exasperation.
Scotland smiled wryly and said, "It's because I'm boring and lack originality, Miss. How do you plan to get back at me?"
“We can sneak into his car,” Takanashi Chinatsu said, outlining the first step of the plan.
Scotland was on high alert. Was he really going to put something in the car? If it wasn't a bomb, was it poison, a poison needle, or a listening device?
“Then in his seat…” Takanashi Chinatsu drawled out her words as if keeping someone in suspense.
It's a poison needle!
It's lethal; a single, fatal blow!
Many thoughts raced through Scotland's mind, and a chill crept into his heart, penetrating to the bone.
Chinatsuka Takanashi smiled and finally made the decision: "Apply super glue!"
Scotland: ? ? ?
Contrary to his expectations, Scotland even looked bewildered for a moment.
"What should I apply?" He asked Takanashi Chinatsu to confirm.
"Apply super glue!" Takanashi Chika pulled out a tube of glue and boasted, "This isn't ordinary super glue; I had the organization's research department process and improve it specially."
"More toxic? It can corrode the skin?"
"How could you be so mean? It's just that it's more secure." Takanashi Chinatsu patted Scotland on the shoulder and said earnestly, "Scotland, I know it's embarrassing for you that he talked to you, but you're colleagues after all. Just give him a lesson by applying some glue. There's no need to go to extremes."
She sighed as she spoke, looking as if to say, "How could you be so ruthless?"
A note from the author:

Scotland: ? ? ?
Scotland: When I say a question mark, it's not that I have a problem, it's that I think you have a problem!
