Silver Ring: "..."
What happened to being scared?! Why aren't these people afraid of her anymore...?
Seeing the sticks about to fall on her, Silver Ring didn't have time to think. She swung her snake tail, dodging left and right, avoiding the sticks that were coming at her.
The fierce stick pounded on the ground with tremendous force.
Fortunately, the silver-ringed snake was agile and dodged the attacks in time. Although it wasn't hit, the silver-ringed snake was still angry.
Anger flashed in her snake-like eyes; she desperately wanted to wrap the incoming stick around and bite those who dared to hit her.
Snakes are ferocious by nature, even though Silver Ring fears humans deep down. But when provoked, instinct overrides reason, and fear vanishes. With a flick of its tongue, it prepares to retaliate.
With another thud, a long wooden stick landed on the left side of the silver ring.
The silver-ringed snake glared, seized the opportunity, and flicked its tail to the ground, suddenly coiling around the wooden stick.
"To strike a snake on its own"—that's exactly what Yin Huan is like now.
Silver Ring landed on the wooden stick twice, then opened its mouth and bit the hand that was holding the stick.
Just as her teeth were about to touch the person's skin, a strong hand appeared from nowhere and grabbed her head, stopping her from biting.
The man was very fast; after succeeding, he suddenly exerted force and lifted the silver ring off the wooden stick.
With her head being gripped, Silver Ring sensed danger. She opened her mouth wide, her snake body arched, and with a flick of her tail, she coiled around the man's arm.
Thinking that this person might use her as a pot to cook, the silver ring increased the binding force, wanting to cripple the man's arm.
Silver Ring's idea was good, but the arm of the person grabbing her was like an impenetrable wall, extremely hard. No matter how hard she tried, the bulging muscles didn't loosen in the slightest.
Beneath the cool skin, the firm and strong muscles made Silver Ring suspect that she wasn't wrapped around a human arm, but rather around an old tree from Mount Fuding.
Silver Ring was slightly taken aback: "..."
Is this even human?
She used all her strength, but she couldn't even squeeze his muscles, let alone break his bones.
"We apologize to everyone. It was an oversight on the part of the zoo that allowed this little guy to sneak in. We're sorry for startling you all. We'll handle it right away."
The speaker was a middle-aged man around forty years old, wearing a zoo uniform, presumably a zookeeper.
The middle-aged man explained something to the group of frightened tourists, then walked over to the young keeper who had grabbed the silver ring and whispered, "Huo Fei, leave this to me. You go and deal with this snake first."
"Um."
The one who caught the silver ring was Huo Fei, a zookeeper who specializes in raising wild animals.
Huo Fei looked extremely young, at most in his early twenties. He was very handsome, with well-defined features, sharp eyebrows, and bright, narrow eyes that held a sharp edge. He was tall and strong, yet not rugged, like an eagle soaring in the sky, exuding an undeniable air of aloofness.
Even his cheap work clothes couldn't hide his imposing aura.
No one would associate him with an animal keeper. But... he is an animal keeper, and a keeper of large predators at the zoo.
Huo Fei nodded apologetically to the people around him, then picked up the silver ring in his hand, strode with his long, straight legs, and headed towards the zookeeper's rest room deep inside the park.
As he walked, he glanced down at Yin Huan, a hint of doubt flashing in his sharp, eagle-like eyes.
After a long while, the corners of his mouth slightly turned up, forming a gentle smile. He reached out with his other free hand and flicked the little head of the silver ring: "Little one, this is not a place for you. Don't move, behave yourself, I'll take you out in a bit."
His voice was deep and resonant, possessing both strength and gentleness, completely at odds with his aggressive appearance. It carried an indescribable magic, inexplicably calming the listener's mind.
Struggling between his two fingers, trying to break free of the silver ring that bound it, the snake suddenly stopped writhing when it heard the sound. Its head snapped back, trying to see clearly who had caught it.
Silver Ring asked in confusion: Who is this person?
He just said he was going to send her out, which... doesn't that mean he's going to let her go?
Good person!
What a kind person! Waaah... I've finally met someone who doesn't eat snake!
