Chapter 5 Finding the Eldest Brother

Sunlight filtered through the large trees in the zoo, dappling the ground. Huo Fei's stern face, in Yin Huan's eyes, appeared upright and imposing. Her snake-like eyes welled with tears; she was inexplicably moved and felt like crying.

Thank goodness, I've finally met a good person.

Yin Huan was currently only grateful to have met such kind people and avoided being turned into a pot of soup. But when she came to her senses, she felt that something seemed off!

She stared at him with wide eyes for a moment, then shook her head.

Oh well, if I can't remember, then forget it.

Since this man won't eat her, she just needs to obediently listen to him. Once he releases her, she can go find her sworn brother.

She had already caught a whiff of her older brother's scent; she wasn't afraid of not finding him.

Yin Huan abandoned the strange feeling in her heart, obediently stopped wriggling her body, and let Huo Fei carry her.

Huo Fei raised his eyes, a slight smile curving his thin lips, and shook his head with amusement.

This little one is really silly; even such a huge demon-suppressing formation outside the zoo didn't scare her away.

I don't know if she was bold or simply ignorant, not understanding what that demon-suppressing formation represented.

Judging from her translucent appearance and the complete absence of any dark or sinister demonic energy, she was likely a harmless little demon who had never committed any evil deeds. Therefore, it was not advisable to let her stay in the zoo.

It's rare to find a little demon who has never been tainted by blood; let's not delay her cultivation. Send her away so she can cultivate properly outside. Perhaps after a thousand years, she can shed her snake form and transform into a dragon.

The man and the snake had different thoughts, and for the time being, they lived in peace.

Huo Fei pushed open the door to the lounge, placed the silver ring he had been holding quietly on the desk, and then looked down at her. A hint of gentleness appeared in his naturally arrogant eyes: "Wait for me here. I'll take you away after I've finished dealing with things."

He knew she understood him; although this little demon wasn't very powerful, she had already gained intelligence. Enlightened demons are born with a natural talent for language.

Upon hearing this, Silver Ring's emerald green pupils suddenly widened, and she stammered, "..."

She said she felt like she had forgotten something, and now that's what it was! She had finally managed to run from Fuding Mountain into the zoo, and she didn't want to leave!

No, I can't let him send her away. I have to figure out a way to fool this handsome human and then escape while I have the chance.

Silver Ring's little head clicked, and an idea immediately came to her.

She raised her snake head and slowly flicked her tongue, appearing harmless.

Seeing how obedient she was, Huo Fei stretched out his long fingers and gently tapped her head, then strode out of the lounge.

Huo Fei wasn't worried at all that the silver ring would run off.

She was a demon, and seeking good fortune and avoiding misfortune was in her nature. The zoo was teeming with powerful demons, their presence creating an overwhelming aura of evil. As a mere demon, she would never dare to act rashly.

With such a dense demonic aura, if she still doesn't know to avoid it, then she can only be said to be courting death, and is hopelessly stupid.

...The hopelessly stupid Yin Huan started causing trouble as soon as Huo Fei left the lounge.

She flicked her snake tail, forked her tongue, and suddenly jumped off the desk.

She glanced at the closed office, fiddled around for a bit, and finally managed to climb out through the air conditioning vent in the break room.

Silver Ring was especially grateful that her snake body was small; if she were as strong as her sworn brother, she wouldn't be able to leave the house.

Having successfully escaped, Silver Ring dared not linger. She immediately twisted her body and swam to the grass outside the rest room.

This time she was smarter; to avoid being discovered by humans, she crawled along the grass the whole way.

A gentle spring breeze rustled the leaves. Silver Ring, its tongue flicking, sniffed the unique scent of its older brother in the wind, dodging and weaving as it slowly approached the zoo's predator enclosure.

Inside the predator enclosure, rows of iron cages stood tall, their bars thick and strong. Various kinds of carnivorous animals were imprisoned inside.

Perhaps because the sun was shining so brightly today, many animals lazily came out of the iron gate and ran into their cages to bask in the sun.

As soon as Silver Ring entered the predator enclosure, its petite body suddenly stopped, and its pair of green eyes instantly filled with alertness.

This place... seems a bit strange.

But Yin Huan couldn't quite put her finger on what was strange about it.

Yin Huan hesitated, then sat up, squinted, and peered inside, puzzled.

Just as she was feeling uneasy, a hissing sound suddenly came from inside the iron gate on the far left of the beast enclosure.

The voice was cold and sinister, but to Silver Ring's ears, it sounded exceptionally warm.

"Little sister, little sister, have you arrived? Come quickly to your big brother's side..."

This is... the unique voice of her sworn brother!

The moment the lackey Silver Ring heard the voice, his eyes lit up with surprise. The slight wariness that had risen in his heart was dispelled by the sound.

She arched her body and eagerly crawled towards the direction from which the sound came.

"Hiss hiss hiss—Big brother, big brother, I've finally found you!" Silver Ring was very excited.

"Hiss hiss hiss—Silver Ring, you've finally arrived. Come in quickly, let your older brother take a look, have you lost weight?" The older brother, Luo Mang, the Burmese python, was also very happy, his thick, bright red forked tongue flicking rhythmically.

He had faintly smelled his younger sister's sweet scent from inside the iron gate, so he quickly went out of the gate, wanting to bring her in as soon as possible.

His next-door neighbor is not easy to get along with. If Yin Huan goes to the wrong door, then... he might very well become the meal of those monsters.

Actually, when the little white mouse came to retrieve the demon core in the early morning, he already knew that Silver Ring had arrived...

Having been here for more than two months, Luo Mang has figured out the situation here.

He was filled with regret... He regretted sending a message back before he had even figured out the specifics of the zoo, asking Silver Ring to come to the zoo as well.
