Chapter 60 (Limited Time Offer: One Day)

"No problem, no problem, don't worry, my dear little friend. My wife was in the wrong to begin with, and I will definitely urge her to do her best to ensure that you don't suffer any injustice!"

The old man was an honest man with a firm look in his eyes, and he patted his chest repeatedly to assure her.

"Okay... I'll give you one day. I hope that by the time I come back tomorrow night, all the bad things said about me will have disappeared."

Seeing that he was indeed trying his best to make amends, Zhiyin stopped pressing him.

After saying that, she glanced at Granny Xu, who was glaring at her with displeasure, and snorted without any politeness, "If I still hear those rumors when I come back tomorrow night, I absolutely guarantee that you won't escape either! I will definitely give you a taste of your own medicine."

After she finished speaking, she shrugged indifferently and smiled casually, "I'm thick-skinned, so it doesn't bother me."

"But you're getting on in years, I don't know if you can handle the consequences? I wonder if people will throw rotten eggs at you and talk behind your back?"

She wasn't just talking about being a confidante; she wasn't the type to seek revenge.

If it weren't for the fact that Granny Xu's husband had a good attitude in admitting his mistake, she really was planning to sit on a small stool at the village entrance after beating him, and start spouting nonsense whenever anyone came by.

Granny Xu likes to make Huang Yao, so she'll help her out and make her a 'star' in the village.

Let her be pointed at and talked about wherever she goes, and let her experience what it feels like to be smeared and falsely accused.

"You dare!!"

Granny Xu stared wide-eyed in disbelief, finding it hard to believe that her confidante would dare to be so vicious.

"They won't believe you."

"If you don't do as I say tomorrow, do you think I'll dare to do it?"

"Don't believe me? Ha... Whether others believe me or not, I'll just ruin your reputation."

After speaking coldly, Zhiyin prepared to provoke her and let her know how serious the consequences would be if she didn't obey.

Then, with a sarcastic and disdainful shake of his head, he added, "Tsk... Don't blame me for not warning you. If word gets out that Granny Xu is having an affair with some bachelor behind her husband's back, or seducing some woman's husband, don't blame me for being merciless!"

After saying this with a smug smile, Zhiyin didn't even glance at Granny Xu's face, which had darkened with her words and was trembling with fear, before turning and leaving.

The moment she stepped out of the room, she turned back with a half-smile, saying in a way that was sure to infuriate anyone, "Tsk... you really should thank you for having such a good husband, otherwise all of that would have become a reality..."

"And let me give you a friendly reminder: with that foul mouth of yours, you'd better prepare a coffin in advance, lest you get beaten to death without even knowing it!"

"you…"

"Shut up!!"

Granny Xu wanted to say something more, but the old man immediately covered her mouth.

"It's true that what the young girl said was unpleasant, but you're so old, it would be a waste of your life to argue with a young girl like that!"

He spoke indignantly, but seeing that Granny Xu's eyes were so swollen that she could hardly see, he couldn't bear it and quickly picked up the ice from the ground and applied it to her face.

"Ouch...it hurts..."

Granny Xu let out a painful scream.

"Pain teaches you a lesson. Let's see if you dare to do it again. You really need to watch your mouth. Getting beaten up today is already a good thing. What will you do if you offend someone you shouldn't in the future?"

The old man was truly disappointed in her; he almost poked Granny Xu's face with his finger.

Seeing that Granny Xu was very aggrieved, he quickly added, "Tomorrow I will personally take you to clarify things with each of the villagers!"

Seeing Granny Xu's eyes widen in disbelief, he immediately frowned. "What? You're not happy?"

"Let me tell you, if you don't listen to me this time, I won't care about you anymore!"

"Also, you don't need to take care of your grandson anymore. Let your eldest son's wife take care of him. You should start working in the fields and take care of all the housework for the family, such as washing clothes and cooking."

Granny Xu's face immediately turned deathly pale. She grabbed the old man's sleeve in disbelief, her eyes filled with despair. "Husband, you can't do this to me!"

Zhiyin had only been out of Granny Xu's house for a short while when she heard a dog barking and howling.

Upon closer inspection, several black dots began to rapidly magnify in front of him.

Who else could it be but Yao Yulin and Zhihua?

Even behind them followed the hungry babies, Yuanyuan, Mengmeng, and Meiqiu.

The round, adorable little coal balls rushed towards her as soon as they saw her, all barking and tugging at her legs.

"Mom, Huahua, what brings you here?"

Zhiyin was initially taken aback, but then couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips into a smile, clearly quite pleased.

"Yinyin, how are you? Are you alright?"

"Why did you come all by yourself? What if something happened to you? I was so worried about you."

Yao Yulin nervously pulled Zhiyin up and down, looking her over from all sides. When she saw that Zhiyin hadn't been taken advantage of, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"It's nothing, Mother, it's all trivial!"

Zhiyin smiled knowingly, then pulled Mengmeng, who was clinging to her legs and climbing up, into her arms, and said lazily.

"That old woman Xu deserves to die! How could she treat you like this? She's worse than an animal! How will you ever face anyone after this? How will you ever find a husband?"

Thinking about what had happened, Yao Yulin couldn't help but tear up again. She hadn't left the house all day and didn't know what had happened until Zhihua came back.

"Don't worry, I've already taught her a good lesson. These rumors will disappear tomorrow. Just consider today a dream!"
