Chapter 66 Even a clay figure has a bit of temper

We walked into the express station, swiped our cards, and then went to the sorting room.

I was squatting on the ground sorting packages when An Lili approached me at some point and whispered, "Brother Changming, Lin Xiaoxue and her husband came to work together today. Is their son better?"

"I think so," I nodded in reply.

"Oh, Changming, there's a new horror movie out recently that I really want to see, but I'm too scared to go alone. How about you come with me sometime?" An Lili whispered in my ear.

I felt a slight itch in my ears, and An Lili's faint fragrance wafted into my nostrils, making me momentarily distracted.

I really wanted to agree to his proposal right away, but deep down I felt like there was a voice telling me to stay away from her. Just as I was struggling with this dilemma, I suddenly heard Zhang Guangyin shout from behind me, "Zuo Changming, come to my office with me."

When I got up, Zhang Guangyin was already walking ahead of me.

In the office, I took out a cigarette and handed it to Zhang Guangyin, saying, "Brother Yin, what did you call me here for?"

"Heh, Zuo Changming, did you take my words to heart? I told you to stay away from An Lili, did you think I was just talking nonsense?" Zhang Guangyin sneered, slamming his hand heavily on the table as he angrily said.

"He and I are just colleagues. There was no deliberate attempt to get close to him as you described." A surge of anger suddenly rose within me, but I managed to suppress it.

"Hmph, colleagues?" Zhang Guangyin sneered, stood up from the recliner, pointed at my nose and cursed, "Blind Zuo, you still think you can fool me? No problem, she'll bring you breakfast? No problem, she'll treat you to a buffet? Damn it, don't think I don't know what you and Blind Zuo are up to."

"Who are you cursing?" I asked coldly, my anger rising again.

I already have enough troubles lately. I can't even have a peaceful day at work. First, I was haunted by ghosts, and now I have to endure threats and insults from this fat bastard in front of me. I'm on the verge of losing it.

"Oh ho, you dare to talk back." Zhang Guangyin grabbed me by the collar and cursed, "I'm talking about you, I'm talking about you, so what if I curse you? You're a brat who was born of a mother but not taught by a father."

"You're asking for it."

I roared and slapped Zhang Guangyin's hand away with one hand, then grabbed his neck with the other and pushed him backward with all my might.

"Thump!"

Zhang Guangyin slammed his back against the foam wall with a loud thud, denting the wall and sending dust flying down from above. The entire wall nearly collapsed.

Zhang Guangyin was stunned for a while, then came to his senses, roared, and kicked me in the stomach.

Although he wasn't as good at fighting as Tong Liu, he did get into a few fights with people while he was in school, all to help Tong Liu.

Moreover, I was blinded by rage at that moment, and I couldn't care less about anything else. I reached out and grabbed Tong Liu's kicking foot, and with a forceful lift, I flipped Zhang Guangyin's nearly 200-pound body to the ground.

"You've gone too far! You've got some nerve, daring to lay a hand on me! I'll kill you!" Zhang Guangyin stood up from the ground, roaring as he grabbed a stool and slammed it down on my head.

I wasn't afraid at all, and I swung my fist and punched him.

Bang!

When my fist hit the bench, I didn't feel any pain; I just punched it and sent it flying.

Zhang Guangyin, his eyes bloodshot, roared and charged at me, his fat hand slapping at my face.

I ducked to avoid him, grabbed Zhang Guangyin's armpit with one hand and his calf with the other, and with a burst of strength, I lifted this 190-pound fat man up above my head.

I'm going to smash Zhang Guangyin to the ground.

Just then, the door was pushed open from the outside, and Zhong Lingui, Feng Enbin, and several others rushed in. Seeing me holding Zhang Guangyin, they shouted, "Changming, stop!"

Zhong Lingui's shout brought me back to my senses, and finally, with the three of them frantically pulling me down, I managed to put Zhang Guangyin down.

Zhang Guangyin sat down in the chair, his forehead covered in sweat. He pointed at me with a trembling hand and cursed, "You..."

"Try swearing again!" I roared, interrupting Zhang Guangyin, my anger blazing once more.

"Alright, Changming, stop fooling around. It's not good for anyone if you hurt someone," Zhong Lingui said, pulling me outside.

As I left the office, I could still hear Zhong Lingui shouting inside, demanding that her brother-in-law fire me.

Zhong Lingui pulled me all the way outside the courier station before he let go of my hand, took out a cigarette, handed it to me, and said, "Have a smoke to calm down."

I let out a long breath, took the cigarette, pulled out a lighter, lit it, took a deep drag, and then exhaled. The anger in my body gradually subsided.

"Changming, what happened? Why are you acting so impulsively?" Zhong Lingui lit a cigarette, took a puff, and asked me.

I took another drag of my cigarette and said slowly, "It's nothing."

Zhong Lingui didn't ask any more questions. He patted my shoulder and said, "That's just how Big Water Buffalo is. Just treat him like a lunatic and ignore him."

I nodded slightly, squatted down against the wall, and silently smoked the cigarette in my hand.

I finished the cigarette quickly, stubbed it out, and saw Zhong Lingui still standing next to me. I said, "Brother Zhong, go back and do your work. I'm fine."

"Is this alright?" Zhong Lingui looked at me and asked seriously.

I nodded and said, "It's okay, I'll squat for a bit and then go back."

Zhong Lingui patted my shoulder and turned to walk towards the courier station.

I took out another cigarette, lit it, and started taking puffs.

Suddenly, a bottle of mineral water appeared in front of me. I looked up and saw that it was An Lili who handed it to me.

"Changming, have some water first. Your mouth is dry from smoking too much," An Lili said, shaking the bottled water in her hand.

I took the water, unscrewed the cap, and drank several large gulps before putting the cap back on.

"Brother Changming, it's all my fault. Did Zhang Guangyin come to you because of me?" An Lili clenched her hands tightly, looking like she was about to cry, and choked out.

"It's none of your business, it's just a small conflict between him and me." Seeing that An Lili was about to cry, I quickly waved my hand and said.

“Okay.” An Lili nodded gently, then continued, “Brother Changming, let’s go back. We need to deliver the packages.”

"Heh, I've already been fired." I shook my head and chuckled.

"Don't worry, Zhang Guangyin is the station manager, but he doesn't have the authority to fire you. The boss has the final say. You've worked for him for so many years, he wouldn't be willing to fire you. Come on, come back with me." An Lili said, taking my hand and pulling me into the courier station.

The moment An Lili grabbed my hand, a strange feeling suddenly welled up inside me, and then I was dragged back to the sorting room by him.

I loaded my package onto my electric scooter and set off. As I passed the gate, I saw Zhang Guangyin sweating profusely while making a phone call.

He saw me too, and gave me a vicious look.

I ignored him and rode away on my electric scooter.
