I felt terrible; goosebumps rose all over my body, and my back was soaked with cold sweat. Just as I was lost in thought, I heard a knock on the door. Even though it was broad daylight, I was still startled.
"Zuo Changming, are you up yet?"
I heard An Lili's voice coming from outside the door.
I shook my head, trying to stop thinking about last night. I walked over and opened the door, where I saw An Lili standing there, holding a bag in her hand.
"Good morning, Lili," I said, forcing a smile.
"Good morning, Changming." An Lili nodded with a smile, walked into my room, put the bag she was carrying on the table, and said, "This is the breakfast I bought for you this morning."
After An Lili finished speaking, she began to look around at the room's layout.
"Thank you." I followed An Lili back to the room. To be honest, this was the first time I had ever been alone in a room with a girl, and I felt very uncomfortable.
"Changming, why do you look so pale? You have such dark circles under your eyes. Didn't you sleep well last night?" An Lili stared at me for a few moments before asking.
I felt a little embarrassed by his gaze, so I reached up and touched my face, making an excuse and saying, "Well, there were too many mosquitoes last night, and I spent the whole night swatting them."
I don't want to tell Anlili that I slept in the dance studio last night, because it won't make a difference.
"Oh, then remember to buy mosquito coils tonight." An Lili said, then suddenly leaned closer to me and whispered, "Changming, nothing happened last night, right?"
My heart skipped a beat at her question, my eyes darted away, and I forced a smile, saying, "What could be wrong? Apart from a lot of mosquitoes, everything else is fine."
"Hmph, I knew Old Li was up to no good." An Lili muttered, then suddenly looked at me with a half-smile and said, "Even if there are any demons or monsters, with your strength, Brother Changming, wouldn't you beat them to a pulp? Your grandfather is so powerful, and his red copper coin is even more powerful. Who would dare to come near you?"
I felt embarrassed by what An Lili said, and I awkwardly scratched my head and said, "Uh, haha, my grandfather didn't teach me anything, and I've never seen his red copper coin."

I was so scared that I wet myself.
"Oh." For some reason, disappointment flashed in An Lili's eyes, but she quickly recovered, pointed to the bag on the table, and said, "Eat quickly, or it will get cold. I'm going to clock in for work."
After saying that, An Lili hurriedly left.
As I watched An Lili's departing figure, I felt something was off, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
I grabbed a towel and toothbrush to wash up, then went back to my room and looked in the mirror. I noticed I was very pale and had dark circles under my eyes. I sighed softly. Maybe this is my fate. My birthday isn't even here yet, and I'm already encountering all sorts of evil spirits.
I took out my razor and shaved, then opened the bag on the table and saw two steamed buns inside. I immediately felt much better. It felt so good to know that someone cared about me. Oh well, I'll just take it one day at a time.
After having breakfast, I clocked in at the workshop and was about to go to the sorting room when I saw Lin Xiaoxue walk in.
"Good morning, Sister Lin." I waved to her.
Lin Xiaoxue seemed not to see me at all. Her face was pale, and she looked preoccupied. I wondered what she was thinking.
"Sister Lin?" I called out again.
Lin Xiaoxue then came to her senses, forced a smile, and said, "Changming, good morning."
"Hmm, Sister Lin, is your son feeling better?" I thought of something and asked.
"Uh... much better." Lin Xiaoxue paused for a moment, then smiled and said.
"That's good, I'll get back to work now," I said, and headed towards the sorting room.
When I arrived at the sorting room, Xu Dalong and Feng Enbin were already sorting packages. Seeing me come in, Xu Dalong immediately came over, looked me up and down, and said, "Changming, you look so pale. Did you encounter something evil last night?"
"Yeah, yeah, Changming, look at you, you've got panda eyes. Were you so scared last night that you didn't sleep a wink?" Feng Enbin chimed in, a smile on his face.
I reached out and flicked them both on the head, yelling, "If we'd run into something evil, would I still be standing here chatting with you two?"
"Who knows? Maybe the evil spirit is just playing with you." Xu Dalong rubbed his head, looking unconvinced.
My heart skipped a beat at what he said; this guy really can't say anything nice.
"Alright, alright, Brother Changming was bitten by mosquitoes all night, so stop teasing him." An Lili stopped what she was doing and said.
"Hehe, Lili, when did you get so close to Changming? You're even speaking up for him now," Xu Dalong said with a grin, looking at An Lili.
An Lili blushed and raised her phone to call Xu Dalong.
Xu Dalong was startled and quickly ran to the other side.
"What are you doing? You don't have to work anymore, do you?" Zhang Guangyin appeared at the door of the sorting room at some point and shouted.
Xu Dalong shrank back, not daring to say anything, and continued working with his head down.
"Hmph." An Lili snorted coldly, glanced at me, and then went back to her work.
I glanced at Zhang Guangyin and found that he was also looking at me with a gloomy expression. I didn't dare to meet his gaze and quickly squatted down to start working.
I don't plan to tell them what happened last night. Even if I did, they wouldn't be able to help me. As for Zhang Guangyin, I can't count on him at all. From the way he looked at me just now, I could tell that his hatred for me seems to be getting stronger and stronger.
After loading the package onto my vehicle, I set off on my electric scooter. Zhong Lingui wasn't here today, so I still had to run his route.
In order to finish the deliveries as soon as possible, I didn't dare to stop for a moment. Finally, at 12:30 pm, I finished delivering the packages on my route, had a quick lunch at home, and then rode my bike back home.
When I arrived at Liuluo Village, I turned directly into Luguchong Village. I was looking for Hu Ergou. There was something dirty at the courier station, and I couldn't count on Zhang Guangyin and the others, so I had to find a solution myself.
When I arrived at Hu Ergou's house, I found the door tightly closed. I knocked on the door, but no one answered for a long time.
I took out my phone and called Hu Tudao.
"Changming, what's up?" Hu Tudao asked after answering the phone.
I heard the sound of gongs and drums coming from Hutudao's side, and said, "Hutudao, I've come to your house, but I haven't heard a response after knocking for a long time. Are you not home?"
"He's not here. He's out performing a religious ceremony with my dad. Is there anything I can help you with?"
"I need to talk to you. When are you coming back? We'll talk when you get back." I felt a little disappointed; it seemed Hu Tudao wouldn't be coming back tonight.
“We’ll go up the mountain tomorrow morning and get back by noon. I’ll look for you then,” Hu Tudao said in a loud voice.
"Okay, I'll talk to you when I get back. I'm hanging up now." I hung up the phone. I was thinking of spending some money to have Hu Tudao send the little girl away, but Hu Tudao wasn't home. It looks like tonight will be another difficult night for me.
I rode my electric bike to the courier station and finished delivering Zhong Lingui's package. It was already six o'clock in the afternoon.
After I clocked in, I rode my electric scooter to find something to eat on the street. I thought of my good friend Tong Liu, so I gave him a call.
"Brother, where are you?" I asked as soon as the call connected.
"Lying down in the electrician's room?" Tong Liu asked in a slightly hoarse voice.
"I'm at Shaxian Snacks. Have you had dinner yet? Come over here for a bit, I want to chat with you." I knew right away that this guy must have drunk too much last night.
"Wait," Tong Liu said, then hung up the phone.
I waited a few minutes at Shaxian Snacks and then I saw Tong Liu arrive on his 125cc motorcycle.
"Sit down, order whatever you want to eat," I said, waving to Tong Liu.
"Then I won't stand on ceremony." Tong Liu smiled, rubbed his hands together, and called inside, "Boss, a duck leg rice, plus a chicken leg and a serving of tofu."
I had an upset stomach last night because of food, and although I didn't eat at this restaurant, I didn't dare to eat any more, so I just ordered a bowl of noodles.
"Changming, why do you look so pale?" Tong Liu picked up the teapot, poured me a cup, then filled his own cup, looked at me, and asked.
"Sixth Bucket, to be honest, I encountered something evil last night," I whispered in Sixth Bucket's ear.
I don't want to tell my colleagues at the courier station what happened last night, but I don't think there's anything to hide about Tong Liu. Besides, it's hard to keep it bottled up inside.
I thought Tong Liu would be scared and startled, but to my surprise, he looked excited, rubbed his hands together, and asked, "Where did you meet him? What did he look like?"
A few black lines appeared on my forehead, but I still told him everything that happened last night.
"Really?" Tong Liu asked me after hearing the answer.
"Yes." I nodded seriously.
"Changming, how about I sleep with you tonight? I really want to see what she looks like!" Tong Liu said excitedly.
"Aren't you scared?" I asked Tong Liu in surprise. I've known him for over ten years, and I never knew he was so carefree. Maybe it's because I've never talked to him about this kind of thing, so I didn't know he was so bold.
"What's there to be afraid of? I'm just looking forward to seeing it for myself." Tong Liu patted his chest, looking expectant.
"Okay, then you can sleep with me tonight." Since Tong Liu has said that, what else can I say? It's good that he has company tonight, so he probably won't be so scared. That little girl shouldn't be fierce, so I'm not worried that Tong Liu will be in danger.
After we finished eating, it was already evening. I made an appointment with Tong Liu; he would go back, take a shower, and then come to the courier station to find me.
