Chapter 76 An Lili came to the cottage again

If what Old Li said is true, then Fang Lei has harmed so many people, he must be an utterly wicked person. I had Hu Ergou kill him, and I felt no guilt at all. On the contrary, I felt great satisfaction and relief.

After leaving Hu Ergou's house, I rode my electric bike back to the courier station.

I originally wanted to tell Hu Ergou what Old Li had told me, but since Hu Ergou interrupted me, I didn't bother to say it, lest Hu Ergou get angry and say that I didn't believe him.

When I got back to the courier station, it was already four o'clock in the afternoon. I didn't go back to my workplace, but went back to my little room.

Thinking of that little house by the wall, I suddenly had an urge to go and see it. I don't know why I had this thought, but once it popped into my head, I couldn't suppress it anymore.

"Damn it, fine, I'll just take a look. It's broad daylight, I doubt he'd dare come out." I gritted my teeth, got up, left the room, and walked towards the back of the courier station.

At first, I was walking briskly, but the closer I got to the hut, the more nervous I became, and my speed gradually slowed down. By the time I reached the corner, I was barely faster than a tortoise. I took a deep breath and looked up at the hut.

The scene before me startled me, and I immediately took a step back, hiding behind the corner of the wall.

The reason I retreated was not because I saw anything terrifying, but because I saw a person standing in front of the hut, and that person was An Lili.

Why is it her again?

What does she want to do here?

Unable to contain my curiosity, I secretly peeked out and looked in An Lili's direction.

At this moment, An Lili was reaching out her left hand to push the wooden door of the small house, while in her right hand she was carrying a snakeskin feed bag. After pushing open the wooden door, An Lili slowly turned around, seemingly wanting to observe the situation behind her.

I pulled my head back before she could, so she wouldn't find out.

That's strange. I remember the door to that little hut was half open. Why is it closed now?

And what's inside that snakeskin bag? It looks bulging, and it seems like something is moving inside. Could it be a living creature inside?

What does she intend to do with this?

I waited for about half a minute, then poked my head out again.

After An Lili opened the wooden door, she didn't go inside. Due to the distance and the influence of the light, I couldn't see the scene inside the small house clearly.

An Lili untied the snakeskin bag in her hand, then reached inside and pulled out a large rooster.

This rooster looks to weigh at least seven or eight pounds, with a comb on its head that is about 10 centimeters long and bright red feathers. It is clearly an old rooster that has been raised for at least three years.

I stretched my head out to try and see clearly what An Lili was up to.

I would never believe that someone would grab a rooster from here out of nowhere unless they were planning something.

I watched An Lili's movements intently, afraid of missing a single detail.

After taking out the rooster, I saw someone pull out a packet from their pocket and force-feed it into the rooster's mouth. As for what the packet contained, I couldn't see it clearly because of the distance.

The rooster struggled incessantly, but its feet were bound and its wings were held by An Lili. Even though it tried to spit out what was in its mouth, An Lili was even more ruthless, directly pinching the rooster's mouth and nose.

At this moment, An Lili seemed like a completely different person to me. Even from this distance, I could feel a chill.

By the way, I've felt this way before with An Lili, but I thought it was just my imagination. I never expected it to be real.

I had an urge to rush over and ask An Lili why she did this, what her reasons were. But the last shred of reason told me that if I rushed over now, we wouldn't even be able to be friends anymore.

An Lili pressed down hard on the rooster's mouth and nose for more than a minute until the rooster swallowed what was in its mouth, and then An Lili slowly let go.

The rooster struggled with its beak wide open, but strangely, it couldn't make a sound. It had crowed a few times when it was pulled from the snakeskin bag, but An Lili forcibly gripped its neck.

An Lili pulled out a small knife from somewhere and slashed the rooster's comb. The rooster, in pain, began to struggle again, and dark brown blood flowed continuously from its comb.

I was horrified. Isn't chicken blood bright red?

Why is it dark brown? Could it be because Anlili fed it that packet of stuff?

From my angle, I could see half of An Lili's profile. I saw her reach out and put a drop of chicken blood into her mouth. Then I saw the corners of her mouth curve up slightly, as if she was enjoying it very much.

A chill ran down my spine. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never have believed that An Lili could be such a person.

At this moment, my mind is in turmoil, extremely turmoil. I admit that I may have already fallen for An Lili, but now that I have discovered all sorts of abnormalities in An Lili, I am really conflicted, incredibly conflicted.

An Lili untied the rope binding the rooster's legs, threw the rooster into the hut, and immediately closed the wooden door.

After doing all this, An Lili clapped her hands and then turned around.

I pulled my head back in at the same time An Lili turned around.

I stayed at the corner and didn't leave. I knew An Lili wouldn't go this way; she must have gone back through the back door of the courier station.

I really wanted to go over to the hut and take a look, but I was also afraid, because there might be a vicious, dirty thing hiding in that hut.

The afternoon sun was still scorching hot, making me sweat profusely.

Damn it, whatever, even if I don't open that wooden door, I might as well go and take a look.

After waiting for about two minutes, curiosity finally overcame reason, and I mustered my courage and walked step by step toward the hut.

With each step I got closer to the cabin, my heart seemed to beat faster. When I was about two meters away from the cabin, my heart was about to jump out of my throat.

I took out a cigarette, lit it, took a deep drag, and then walked with difficulty toward the hut. Although the temperature was extremely hot, I don't know if it was just my imagination, but I felt that the closer I got to the hut, the colder my heart became.

But just then, I heard a strange sound coming from inside the cabin.

I pricked up my ears and listened carefully. Immediately, my expression changed drastically. I didn't dare to linger any longer and quickly ran back the way I came.
