Chapter 19 Qin Lei's Little Thoughts

Under the blazing sun, the more she rested, the less she wanted to get up. After saying that, Mo Shuwan told Wen Zuo that she didn't want to discuss the topic for the time being. Wen Zuo had no choice but to swallow back the words of comfort and concern he had prepared.

Watching Wen Zuo drink at least half of the water, Mo Shuwan made him take off his backpack. She took out two flattened bread rolls from the bag, knowing that Wen Zuo would hesitate to accept them. Before giving them to him, she made sure to explain the pros and cons to Wen Zuo, and managed to temporarily change some of his stubborn thoughts.

Squeezed in the crowd, Qin Lei glared resentfully at Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo, saying unwillingly, "Are you just going to stand by and watch them eat?"

"What else can we do? They have guns, and..." Thinking of Mo Shuwan's quiet words just now, the passenger couldn't help but shudder. He didn't doubt the truth of Mo Shuwan's words, after all, she knew much more than they did.

Even after thinking it through, she felt a little annoyed that she had offended the two of them so impulsively.

"They have guns, but don't we have guns too?"

"You can shoot?"

Qin Lei was speechless. He slumped his head and pulled at the weeds. When he looked up, he saw Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo eating bread. Then he thought about how he was still hungry and he couldn't bear it.

He abruptly threw away the weeds in his hand and said fiercely, "Then we won't use guns. Knives, axes, daggers—none of them can't hurt people!"

Noticing the ruthlessness in Qin Lei's eyes, the passengers who had just forced Wen Zuo to hand over food and water stared wide-eyed in disbelief. Although they had stood with Qin Lei earlier, they had never thought of actually killing anyone.

After waiting for a while without a response, Qin Lei realized that his words were somewhat inappropriate, but there was no going back on what he had said, so he quickly added a few more sentences, "We are in this godforsaken place now, and we could lose our lives at any moment. The most important thing now is to survive, but as you can see, it is those two who are not giving us a way out! If this continues, we will either die of thirst or starvation!"

Two men, provoked by Qin Lei's words, gritted their teeth and echoed, "That's right, they were the ones who were ruthless first."

A look of delight flashed in Qin Lei's eyes. Seeing that two passengers were still hesitating, he lowered his voice and asked, "Don't you want to live?"

"think……"

"Then come with us!"

"But we had no chance at all."

"Why wouldn't we have a chance? Don't they ever sleep?" Qin Lei retorted. Seeing that the expressions on their faces had softened somewhat, he immediately pressed on, "We're not killing anyone. We're just taking our share of food and water while they're sleeping."

Finally, under Qin Lei's temptation, the group quickly reached a consensus. They never considered that the food they thought they deserved was food that Mo Shuwan had exchanged for with points earned at the cost of her life, and had nothing to do with them.

The group rested for more than ten minutes before getting up and continuing their journey. Wen Zuo looked worriedly at Mo Shuwan, who was walking unsteadily, and reached out to help her, but Mo Shuwan shook her head and pushed her hand away, saying, "I can walk. Don't waste your energy on me."

Wen Zuo hesitated for a moment, but seeing Mo Shuwan's resolute attitude, he had no choice but to give up.

Whether the bus deliberately made things more difficult for them or they were just unlucky, they still hadn't seen any signs of human activity by the time the sun was setting.

During the break, more people began to break down emotionally, and more and more people complained about Wen Zuo and Mo Shuwan. However, due to Mo Shuwan's ruthlessness and the gun in Wen Zuo's hand, no one dared to say anything.

Mo Shuwan almost collapsed to the ground as soon as she sat down, but she managed to hold back. Gasping for breath, she pulled Wen Zuo, who was still standing and observing the surroundings, down and said weakly, "You should rest too."

Wen Zuo smiled and shook his head to indicate that he was not tired.

Mo Shuwan didn't believe it and held onto Wen Zuo's finger tightly. He had been walking since morning and carrying such a heavy load. How could he not be tired?

Having no other choice, Wen Zuo sat down next to Mo Shuwan, but he remained in a fighting stance. In this situation, he felt something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Many passengers were reluctant to get up after sitting down. Although Wen Zuo wasn't very tired, he decided to rest a little longer when he saw that Mo Shuwan next to him was almost exhausted. So he stayed with the other passengers.

Before nightfall, Wen Zuo used his specially made watermelon knife to cut down a large patch of weeds, creating a simple sleeping spot for Mo Shuwan, who was sitting by the roadside fishing.

Wen Zuo walked over to Mo Shuwan and shook her.

—Go take a nap.

Mo Shuwan stared at Wen Zuo in a daze for a while, then suddenly reached out and pinched her eyelids. The pain brought her back to her senses. She shook her head and said, "You rest first, I'll watch over things."

After saying that, she pulled the gun from Wen Zuo's waist, and forced herself to stand up. She was very grateful for Wen Zuo's care along the way, otherwise she really doubted that she would have died on the road. Now, how could Mo Shuwan have the face to rest while Wen Zuo watched over her? He helped her because he was kind, but she couldn't take it for granted.

Wen Zuo sighed helplessly, reached out and grabbed Mo Shuwan's arm, easily taking the gun back. He didn't bother typing to express his opinion to Mo Shuwan, but simply picked her up with one hand, quickly walked to the prepared spot, placed her on it, and squatted down beside her.

At this moment, Wen Zuo's entire body, down to the last strand of hair, seemed to be conveying one message: Go to sleep.
