Mo Shuwan sighed inwardly and shook her head slightly. "There are too few of us. We don't stand much of a chance against vampires. Let's forget about it and think of another way."
Azhan and his companions were also somewhat disappointed, but such life-threatening situations cannot be forced, so they didn't say anything. They just repeatedly told the people on the street, "We understand your choice, but I hope you can keep our whereabouts a complete secret."
Without the advantage of numbers, facing the group of vampires became much more difficult. Mo Shuwan and the others carefully weaved through the crowd and silently approached the area from which the sound of crying came. The group crouched down in the crowd and saw several low-level vampires capturing humans not far away.
"There are no intermediate-level vampires around, so we can give it a try."
One of the vampire hunters squatting next to Azhan said, "Let's go. With our current strength, dealing with a few low-level vampires shouldn't be a problem."
The two of them had already used secret techniques to deal with the intermediate-level vampire, and they could only live for a few more months at most. In their own words, killing one was a bonus.
The two wanted to kill, and Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo couldn't stop them for the sake of points. Besides, they didn't know if there were other vampires around, so they had to hide and preserve some of their strength for the time being.
Seeing that Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo didn't speak, A Zhan nodded, "You two go ahead, and make this quick."
The two vampire hunters smiled and nodded, then crouched low and slowly moved over. Because of the humans' lack of cooperation, although they couldn't hurt the vampires, they had temporarily halted their movements.
Two vampire hunters easily caught up with them. Like ordinary humans, they squeezed into the crowd, approaching the vampires with screams and cries. Before the few novice vampires could react, they suddenly attacked with lightning speed, killing the vampires instantly without any chance to resist.
A group of ordinary humans, still pushing and shoving, stared blankly at the several corpses on the ground. Only when the two vampire hunters finally overcame all difficulties and squatted down to cut off the vampire fangs did they suddenly react. After staring at the two men for a moment with tears and snot streaming down their faces, they suddenly burst into a loud cheer.
"Waaah, you've finally come!"
"Mom, it's alright, it's alright, we're saved!"
The relatives of the humans who had just been captured immediately rushed forward to hug their loved ones, and wept bitterly.
Not far away, Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo, who were still hiding in the crowd, exchanged a glance. They both saw the seriousness in each other's eyes because the demon sensing talisman was still hot and there were vampires hiding around.
Mo Shuwan frowned and asked Wen Zuo in a low voice, "Do you think the vampires lurking in the shadows are coming for us?"
Wen Zuo nodded, turning his body slightly to observe where the vampires might be hiding.
When A-Zhan, who was crouching next to Mo Shuwan, heard that there were still vampires around, he was startled. He glared at his two companions who were being pushed back by ordinary humans, and quickly gave them a look. The two vampire hunters only noticed A-Zhan's actions when they were about to get close to where Mo Shuwan and the others were hiding. They were taken aback, and even though they didn't know why A-Zhan was doing this, they had already turned and walked in another direction. At the same time, one of them shouted, "Everyone, don't push! Don't push! You're separating us from our companions. We still need to go back to find them and kill vampires together!"
Hearing the two shouts, Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo's eyes were filled with smiles.
Azhan felt a surge of pride as he looked at his two companions, but soon, seeing them surrounded by the crowd and staying a short distance away, he couldn't help but worry. "Although they have enhanced their strength using secret techniques, they still can't withstand a sneak attack from a mid-level vampire."
Aside from a few mid-level vampire hunters like Zuo Luo who could barely sense the presence of vampires at a short distance, the others couldn't. They didn't have cheat codes like demon-sensing talismans, so if a mid-level vampire launched a sneak attack, it would indeed be impossible to defend against.
Thinking of this, Mo Shuwan thought for a moment and said, "Let's go and hide nearby first. Don't worry, Wen Zuo and I will be able to sense any vampires that get close."
With Mo Shuwan's assurance, A Zhan breathed a sigh of relief.
A few people quietly approached the vampire hunters who were surrounded by the crowd. The two of them had saved many humans and almost instantly earned the respect of everyone. One of the most excited men even broke through the crowd and knelt down on a vampire hunter, saying, "Thank you, thank you for saving me."
"You're welcome, it's my pleasure..."
Before he could finish speaking, a hand suddenly reached out from behind and pulled him down into the crowd. In the chaos, the man who had just pounced on him also fell down, his face filled with fear as he quietly plunged a dagger into his heart. The man shielded him with his body and whispered tremblingly in the vampire hunter's ear, "If you don't die, we can't live. Don't blame me, I had no choice."
The man who had just pulled the vampire hunter down exchanged a glance with the person who had attacked him. He turned to deal with another vampire hunter, but the strong smell of blood in the air alerted him. He roared and pushed through the crowd. When he saw his companion lying in a pool of blood, his eyes turned red.
You deserve to die!
With a roar, he swung his sword at the man holding the dagger, his hands covered in blood. It all happened so fast that the man didn't have time to react and could only watch helplessly as the sword that had just killed a vampire stabbed him.
Both men suffered severe heart damage; the man fell straight backward, the dagger clattering to the ground as he died with his eyes wide open.
From the moment they started killing each other to their own deaths, less than a minute had passed. Everything happened so fast that there was no time to rescue them.
Mo Shuwan and Wen He and the others also had drastic changes in expression. They never expected that the final problem would not be caused by vampires, but by two humans!
Seeing one of them stand up and stumble to escape, Mo Shuwan rushed forward with fury in her eyes and quickly stopped him. When the man saw Mo Shuwan, he immediately begged for mercy, "Mo Shuwan! I'm a passenger, I'm a passenger! We're together, you can't kill me!"
Mo Shuwan's face grew even more grim as she struggled with the decision of whether to kill or not. After all, the other person was a fellow passenger who had come to this world with her, not one of those inhuman vampires. Asking her to kill an ordinary person was truly difficult.
Seeing Mo Shuwan's hesitation, the passenger suddenly drew his dagger and stabbed Mo Shuwan. As Mo Shuwan leaned back, he immediately turned and ran wildly towards the woods, but the next second, he let out a scream and fell to the ground.
The bewildered locals around them also came to their senses and immediately surrounded the passengers.
The passengers panicked instantly, clutching their legs and screaming in agony, "Zhan Fei, save me! You promised you wouldn't watch us die!"
Wen Zuo, who had just thrown a large knife that struck a passenger in the thigh, causing the passenger to fall to the ground screaming in pain, breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Mo Shuwan was unharmed. At the same time, a strong killing intent flashed in his eyes. He had already heard the passenger's screams. It was that damned Zhan Fei again!
