Chapter 73

Chapter 73

Sigma carried Little Lo to a town near the desert. His sand-covered robes contrasted sharply with the little girl's clean and tidy white suit.

If it weren't for their similar appearances, Sigma would probably have been mistaken for a human trafficker.

“I…” He glanced timidly at the bustling crowd, gritted his teeth, mustered his courage, and went inside. Sigma seriously considered their next situation.

Xiao Luo has food and water, so there's no need to worry about their food and drink. The most important thing now is where they'll stay for the night.

Sigma didn't have any of the local currency on him.

All he can do now is find a job and work hard to earn money. Under the pressure of raising a child, Sigma doesn't have time to think about philosophical questions like "Who am I?" or "Where am I?"

Bored in his arms, the little girl, who was studying her new superpower, curiously touched Sigma. Hearing his current confusion, the child secretly moved closer to him.

“Dad, it seems like Xiao Luo can know the information she wants to know. We can be charlatans.”

Sigma: ...

He hesitated for a moment, but didn't think there was anything wrong with the little girl saying she could know the information she wanted, before he used his special ability on Xiao Luo.

But a charlatan... Sigma thought it would be a bit difficult, since even a charlatan needs some professional knowledge.

But it's okay, Xiao Luo opened the door to new ideas for him.

Sigma was quite talented; he squeezed into the crowd and used his supernatural abilities to quickly obtain the information he needed.

He made his way toward the grand restaurant in the town center.

In the crowd, two seemingly ordinary men watched Sigma's departing figure, whispered to each other for a while, and then took out their phones to send a message to someone in the distance.

In the darkness, the image of a purple rat flashed by.

"Is there something wrong with the page? Why is there an extra one?" he murmured.

On the other hand, Sigma, with his unique talent, successfully applied for the manager position at the grand restaurant.

"As you know, this restaurant's system has long been flawed. It's not just about serving people drinks; it's about developing a business..."

The man sitting in front of the boss was dressed in shabby clothes, but he made sure his daughter had the best clothes, which showed that he was a kind-hearted person.

Although he did not reveal his academic qualifications or certifications, he spoke out all the questions that were on his mind.

The boss was touched; what a kindred spirit!

"What are your thoughts?" the boss asked humbly.

Sigma, sitting opposite him, had sweaty palms and felt incredibly guilty, but he still forced himself to remain calm and straighten his back.

“These things need to be explained slowly.” He said with a serious and meticulous expression, “I can’t explain it to you clearly in a short time.”

“That’s right, that’s right,” the boss thought it made perfect sense. He looked at Sigma with admiration for talent. “Mr. Sigma, welcome to my restaurant. You look so travel-worn. Go wash up first, and we’ll have a good chat when you’re done.”

Sigma swallowed hard and reluctantly agreed.

Dad went to wash up inside, and Xiao Luo was sent to the kitchen by the boss to be watched over so that the manager's child wouldn't get lost.

The child looked at the muddy backyard and the people busy in the kitchen. She stood there scratching her head, confused. What should Xiao Luo do?

“Mr. Fyodor, this is the place.”

Led by a local, Fyodor arrived at the kitchen without alerting Sigma; the changes in the pages were enough to make him come all this way.

Why is there an extra child?

The black-haired youth who entered the backyard anxiously bit his fingers and looked up at the corner of the backyard.

A little girl who looks like Sigma is squatting in place, holding a tree branch and sitting there earnestly.

What do you think she's doing?

She was playing rock-paper-scissors with the lobster.

Xiao Luo was bored being alone in the backyard when she discovered two lobsters jumping out of the kitchen. She happily took them and started playing rock-paper-scissors with them.

"You lost again!" Little Luo threw another punch, and seeing its bright red pincers, she happily waved the branch in her hand. "Again!"

Fyodor watched as the child, who seemed to be born a demon, kept throwing punches, and she wasn't even willing to throw a single piece of paper to let the lobster win.

He pressed his hand to his chest, feeling a strange, familiar tightness in his chest, as if he were having a heart attack.

Fyodor stood by and watched for a few rounds, then whispered a reminder: "You've already killed one; if this continues, the other one won't live much longer."

Xiao Luo had already achieved a hundred consecutive wins and was so happy she couldn't stop smiling. Hearing the sound, she turned her head in confusion and, upon seeing Fyodor, exclaimed even more excitedly, "Dad, you're out of jail? That was fast!"

Fyodor: ?

"Are you... calling me?" he asked hesitantly. "Do you suffer from prosopagnosia or cognitive impairment?"
