Chapter 74

Chapter 74

Little Luo choked, speechless at Fyodor's words. She stood up, cheeks puffed out, and began to speak, somewhat annoyed.

"Why does Dad always think that Xiao Luo is sick? Xiao Luo is perfectly normal."

Hearing the familiar "Dad," Fyodor's narrow eyes narrowed slightly, his tone calm yet probing: "Oh? What makes you say that?"

Just as Xiao Luo opened her mouth to speak, Sigma's slightly urgent voice came from the side. He shouted, "Xiao Luo!"

The little girl looked up from behind Fyodor's large cloak, and when she saw Sigma, her eyes lit up. She exclaimed happily, "Daddy! You've finally come!"

Fyodor's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile. He had already ordered his men to intercept Sigma, but he hadn't expected him to arrive ahead of schedule. He had underestimated this creation.

Sigma's long, white and purple hair flew wildly as he ran.

The young man, panting, ran up to Xiao Luo and blocked her way.

"Who are you? What do you want?" His voice was still panting as he stared warily at Fyodor.

After washing up and changing his clothes at Sigma, he was about to come find Xiao Luo, but the boss kept bothering him and he couldn't get away.

Sigma found it strange; no matter how anxious the boss was, he shouldn't have stopped him from seeing his daughter.

With doubts arising in his mind, Sigma cautiously used his supernatural abilities to obtain the information he wanted, although his boss also discovered his deception. But it didn't matter, because someone had asked the boss to stop him from contacting Xiao Luo for a while.

Someone is trying to hurt Xiao Luo!

"What are you going to do?" Even though he was afraid, Sigma still stood bravely in front of Xiao Luo and asked.

Fyodor raised his hand to indicate that he meant no harm, his calm words piercing the young man's heart.

“Calm down, sir. I’m just curious why you have a child. Sigma, you were born into this world with nothing, you don’t belong here. Someone like you shouldn’t have a ‘family’.”

Sigmar's face turned deathly pale; Fyodor had struck at his deepest fear.

He knew he had appeared out of thin air, with no past, like a drifting ghost. Until he met Xiao Luo, the little girl who claimed to be his daughter, they were so similar, yet she possessed a complete "past".

Sigma vaguely knew that Xiao Luo was not his real daughter, but he still greedily clung to this connection—he needed family too much, he needed an anchor so that he wouldn't be abandoned by the world.

"Who exactly are you!" Sigma's voice trembled uncontrollably, almost a stern question.

"Daddy!" The child tugged at her clothes from behind. Xiao Luo opened her curious eyes and asked in confusion, "Why shouldn't I be Daddy's daughter? Xiao Luo is Daddy's daughter!"

Sigma thought he was being questioned, and as he felt a pang of pain in his heart, he opened his mouth, unsure how to answer.

Because he is a "person" without a past, he only has the present.

“Because Sigma was created out of thin air,” Fyodor explained good-naturedly, “he should have no connection with this world.”

“Xiao Luo originally had no connection with this world at all, right?” the child jumped out, and she retorted seriously with a questioning tone, “Xiao Luo has been like this since she stepped into this world. I called him Dad, and Dad acknowledged that we are father and daughter.”

Isn't that how connections are established? For example, when you call me "Dad," we can have a new relationship.

Ignoring the little girl's last words, which unexpectedly hit the nail on the head, Sigma's tense nerves suddenly relaxed and he calmed down.

This confirmed Fyodor's suspicion that Little Lori was an accessory to the book. No wonder he couldn't find out the origin of the little girl who resembled Sigma.

"...Still not stable?" he murmured softly, so quietly that no one could hear him.

Sigma looked at the black-haired youth in front of him warily. "So what exactly do you want?"

Fyodor looked up with a smile again, modifying his original excuse for finding a home for Sigma: "Sigma, you can't support her."

When the young man's face turned pale, Fyodor slowly spoke: "Would you like to join my organization? I know your background and can tell you everything. Our organization, the Five Signs of Decay, has official support, which is enough for you to take good care of this child."

Sigma couldn't believe what the dangerous man in front of him was saying, but he also knew that what the man said wasn't unreasonable. "What... do you want?"

He spoke cautiously.

“No,” the man opposite him chuckled and denied it outright, his eyes filled with pity. “Sigma, this is not what I want, but you. I have given you the only chance to control your own destiny.”

“Look at the child behind you, leaving her as lonely and helpless as you, with nowhere to go? But I can give you what you want, a real ‘home’ with the same origins as you.”

Sigma's body trembled slightly; the temptation was like a poison, precisely piercing the most vulnerable part of his heart.

Seeing this, Fyodor's smile deepened. He gently extended his hand, as if to offer light to the other: "Join us, Sigmar. Become one of the five signs of decay."

The young man with ice cream-colored hair opened his mouth, but before he could utter the words of his heartfelt desire, he was interrupted by the child next to him, "Dad, are you lying to the child?"

Sigma silently shut his mouth.

Xiao Luo's expression was serious. "Dad, I forgot to ask you before. Are you a human trafficker?"

Isn't this just empty promises to lure people into doing hard labor? There are no real benefits, and the ideals and aspirations are just unrealistic fantasies.

Would her father kidnap Xiao Luo's only ice cream dad and sell him for money?
