Chapter 61

Chapter 61

The little girl stared blankly for a while before finally remembering that she was looking for her father and, incidentally, rescuing Oda Sakunosuke.

What was she supposed to do? Xiao Luo pushed open the door, her expression serious as she met five pairs of large, watery eyes.

The children exclaimed in unison, "Sister Xiaoluo, didn't you go back to heaven to play?"

Xiao Luo nodded with satisfaction. "Very good. The fairy-like persona hasn't been revealed yet."

"That's right! But my dad's good friend is in danger, so I, Xiao Luo, have come back!"

Wow! That's amazing!

The children's flattering voices almost made the little girl lose her bearings.

Xiao Luo, dazed and confused, broke free, her little face tense. She stood on the table with her hands on her hips, looked at her underlings below, and said loudly, "Now I need to find Uncle Oda Sakunosuke. Can any of you contact him?"

The five children all pointed towards the door. Xiao Luo followed the direction and looked towards the door, her gaze landing on the bald uncle standing there.

The middle-aged man stared at Xiao Luo standing on the table, the bowl of food he was carrying crashing to the ground. His expression was one of terror: "You! Are you a human or a ghost?!"

Xiao Luo pouted in dissatisfaction, but before she could say anything, a group of children standing under the table started chattering.

As expected, as long as she wins people's hearts, she will have followers to fight for her.

"Uncle, what are you talking about? Of course, Sister Xiaoluo is a fairy who came down from heaven."

"Really?" The curry shop owner, who knew the truth, asked tremblingly. Without waiting for the children's response, he rushed out the door, leaving behind the words, "I'm going to call Oda Sakunosuke!"

Downstairs, as soon as Oda Sakunosuke answered the phone, the boss stammered, "Oda, come back quickly! Something terrible has happened!"

He lowered his voice and said fearfully.

Oda Sakunosuke was startled and stood up in fear, hurriedly asking, "What's wrong?"

The shopkeeper said fearfully, "It's Xiao Luo, Xiao Luo's ghost has returned. She's playing with the children now. The children don't know Xiao Luo is dead, so she hasn't harmed them yet, Oda..."

Oda Sakunosuke's mind went blank, and he didn't hear anything that followed. The man hurriedly hung up the phone and tried to press down his trembling fingers to dial Dazai Osamu's number.

In the dimly lit office, Dazai Osamu's subordinates didn't dare to breathe loudly; these past few days, Dazai's subordinates had become increasingly terrifying.

The gloomy boy stared blankly at the ringing phone.

He dreamt that Xiao Luo called him these past few days. He said such harsh things to that child. Kids are easily angered and hold grudges, so she must hate him to death.

Shouldn't he have distanced himself from her? Would running away mean losing her?

It would be better if he brought the child with him.

If he answers the child's call, he can comfort Xiao Luo.

If..., but there are no ifs.

It's all his fault.

The phone rang abruptly, its shrill ring interrupting Dazai Osamu's thoughts. He looked up and saw it was Oda Sakunosuke.

His fingers curled up in fear, and the boy hesitated to answer the phone.

That same bell rang that day, bringing the horrific news of death.

After a long silence, Dazai Osamu finally answered the phone. He gently brought the microphone to his ear and waited for Odasaku to speak.

"Dazai, listen to me." The man opposite him was breathing rapidly and unsteadily.

Dazai Osamu was about to grunt to indicate that he understood when he was interrupted by the man's words and froze on the spot.

"Xiao Luo is back. The boss said she's playing with Xingjie and the others in the safe house right now."

Little Luo...is back?

Dazai Osamu was in a daze and unable to come back to his senses.

“I…” Dazai Osamu’s voice trembled slightly, with a barely perceptible suppressed sob.

"Don't be afraid, Dazai, I'll drive right away. Whether it's a ghost or something else, we'll know once we see it."

Oda Sakunosuke spoke quickly, with the sound of running and whooshing in the background.

"I'll be there right away," Dazai Osamu said, suppressing his trembling emotions and trying to remain calm.

The child herself is unaware whether Xiao Luo's appearance is caused by the chaos of war resulting from her resurrection.

The little girl waited for a long time before finally seeing the trembling curry shop owner.

The uncle, worried about the children, resolutely walked in and was terrified to see Xiao Luo sitting with the children.

"Xiao Luo," he swallowed hard, his heart pounding, and asked, "Xiao Luo, why did you come back?"

Xiao Luo thought for a long time. This sentence sounded so familiar. What was she here for? Dazai-nii-san seemed to have said something about wanting to…

"Little Luo, come tell Daddy, it hurts so much! She died so tragically after being poisoned!"

The boss turned pale; it really was a vengeful spirit returning. How did she find her way here? Had she gotten lost again?

This child couldn't find his way home even before he was alive, so how come he's still so directionally challenged even after he's dead?

The boss felt a little sorry for the clumsy little girl, but ultimately, humans and ghosts are different, and he absolutely had to keep an eye on Oda's children.

Oda Sakunosuke's car sped along at lightning speed, reaching the safe house as quickly as possible without violating traffic rules.

"Oda!"

"Oda has returned."

The boss was so happy he cried.

Oda Sakunosuke pushed open the door and got out of the car. He pressed the handle and opened the door a crack, then involuntarily looked up at the second floor.

The windows on the second floor were crowded with little heads, and the children were all chattering and looking at me with bright eyes.

The most conspicuous one was the one who, taking advantage of his height, had half his body hanging over the window, looking down at Xiao Luo.

"Get down." The order came from his friend behind him. Dazai Osamu looked towards the window, his voice revealing neither joy nor anger.

His palms were sweating slightly. He wondered if Xiao Luo would resent him, and how the girl would treat him.

So Dazai Osamu took a cold-blooded approach, accepting whatever attitude the girl might have. He then guarded her relentlessly until he finally returned her to her biological father.
