My Alpha

My Alpha

The setting sun shone through the shabby window lattice, gilding the embraced couple with a warm, golden edge. The air was filled with the scent of medicine, dust, and an indescribable, post-disaster tranquility. Si Qi's arms wrapped around Shao Wei, his grip perfectly controlled, filled with unquestionable possessiveness and protectiveness, while carefully avoiding any of his wounds. He could clearly feel the outline of the man's thin back in his arms, and the faint yet real heartbeat.

Shao Wei's forehead rested lightly on his shoulder, his breath evenly caressing the side of his neck, bringing a subtle tickling sensation. It was a gesture of complete, unreserved dependence. Si Qi's heart was filled with a simmering, swollen feeling of bitterness, joy, dread, and relief... a tangle of emotions swirling, nearly overwhelming him. He could only hold her tighter, yet more gently, as if to ingrain this person into his very bones, never to be separated.

Time seemed to have lost its meaning at this moment.

Until Shao Wei maintained a posture for a little while, and felt a slight pain in the wound on the back of his neck, and his body stiffened almost imperceptibly.

Si Qi noticed it immediately and relaxed his embrace almost instantly, then nervously looked down to check: "Did it hurt you?"

Shao Wei shook his head slightly. His icy blue eyes looked exceptionally clear at such close range. He had a slight embarrassment, a slight embarrassment from someone who had just woken up from dependence. His voice was still low and weak: "No."

But Si Qi still carefully supported him, letting him lean back onto the raised pillows. As they did so, their eyes met again. This time, there was no struggle, pain, or estrangement as before, only a tacit, flowing warmth and peace.

Si Qi took the cup of water, tested the temperature, and then passed it to Shao Wei's lips. Shao Wei took a few sips from his hand, his Adam's apple rolling slightly.

"Are you hungry? Silver Fox has prepared some nutritional supplements." Si Qi asked, his voice more gentle than ever.

Shao Wei shook his head, but his eyes fell on the silver-black "Pandora" hard drive beside him, and there was a hint of thought in his eyes.

Si Qi followed his gaze, his expression growing more serious. He picked up the hard drive and weighed it in his hand. "Gao Lan won't give up. This is just a temporary ceasefire."

Shao Wei was silent for a moment, then asked softly, "What's inside?" He wasn't asking about the threat to Gao Lan, but the truth about themselves.

Si Qi looked at him and hesitated. Shao Wei had just recovered from the immense pain and confusion of those dark, cruel truths, and he was afraid of provoking him again.

Shao Wei seemed to see through his concerns. His icy blue eyes were calm and firm. "I want to know." His voice was weak, but it carried an unquestionable determination. "Everything."

Si Qi stared at him for a few seconds before finally nodding. He connected the hard drive to the decoding device (provided by Dr. Chen), and the complex gene sequence diagram, experimental records, video footage, and cold report text appeared page by page on the tablet screen.

Inside the small safe place, the air seemed to freeze once more. Only the faint hum of the equipment and the mingling breaths of the two people could be heard.

Shao Wei's eyes calmly swept over the shocking contents: the gene editing records of the embryonic period, the cold test data of childhood, the artificially created "accident" reports during separation, the horrific experimental ideas about the "main body" and "sub-body", the detailed instructions of the extreme experiment three years ago that led to Si Qi's intrusion and casualties... and a large number of synthesized false childhood images implanted in their memories.

The truth is like the sharpest scalpel, cutting open the past wrapped in lies layer by layer, revealing the bloody inside.

Shao Wei's face grew paler, his fingers unconsciously clenching the blanket beneath him, and his breathing became somewhat rapid. Especially when he saw the experimental plan for transforming him into a "sub-body," his body trembled noticeably.

Si Qi's heart immediately tightened, and he subconsciously wanted to turn off the screen: "Don't watch it..."

"Go on." Shao Wei interrupted him, his voice trembling slightly, but his eyes were incredibly determined. He needed to know, to see the root of all this pain, before he could truly face it and overcome it.

Si Qi could only continue, but his pheromones unconsciously became stronger and gentler, like an invisible protective shield, tightly wrapping around Shao Wei, trying to alleviate the impact of the truth.

When he read the last report that stated that they were actually conceived naturally but their genes and memories were forcibly tampered with and they were artificially separated, Shao Wei closed his eyes, his long eyelashes trembled violently, and a tear silently slid down from the corner of his eye and sank into his temple.

Those weren't tears of sadness, but rather the release of an extremely complex mix of emotions: anger, absurdity, grievance, and... a twisted sense of relief.

It turns out that they weren't born to be cold "experimental subjects"; they originally had the most natural blood bond. All the pain and separation were imposed.

Si Qi reached out his hand and gently wiped away the tear with his fingertips, his movements filled with endless tenderness.

Shao Wei slowly opened his eyes. His icy blue pupils were clear as if washed by water, yet they held a heavy weight of fatigue and realization. He looked at Si Qi and said in a hoarse voice, "So, we could have... grown up together."

Like a pair of ordinary twin brothers.

Si Qi's heart felt like it was struck hard by these words, and he felt an indescribable pain. He firmly grasped Shao Wei's hand and said in a low and firm voice: "It's not too late now."

Shao Wei looked back at him for a long moment, then very slowly grasped his fingers with his backhand. This time, it was no longer a weak reliance, but a clear, resolute strength.

"Yeah." He responded softly.

The truth was cruel, but only by tearing open the abscess can true healing take place. After sharing this most profound secret, the last vestiges of invisible barriers between them seemed to have completely melted away. An inexplicable, close-knit sense of alliance grew in the silence.

Over the next few days, in a relatively safe environment and under Si Qi's meticulous care, Shao Wei's health improved at a noticeable rate. Although his glands would take longer to recover and he was temporarily unable to use pheromones, his complexion gradually became rosy and his spirits improved. He could even take a few slow steps with Si Qi's support.

Their relationship also subtly shifted. Si Qi remained hands-on and attentive, but the giving and compensation were no longer one-sided. Shao Wei began to proactively express his needs, saying, "I want some water," "I'm a little cold," or "Help me up." Even occasionally, when Si Qi's face shone with guilt from reminiscing about the past, he would say, in a very calm tone, "It's all in the past," or simply place his hand on the back of Si Qi's.

This kind of calm acceptance and occasional proactive comfort can soothe Siqi's inner anxiety and guilt better than any words.

Dr. Chen and Silver Fox were busy analyzing the data in "Pandora", trying to find a way to completely cure Shao Wei's pheromone disorder and evaluate the possible next move of "Watchman".

"Gao Lan hasn't made any unusual moves yet, but he won't sit idly by and wait for death," Dr. Chen said to Si Qi with a serious expression. "The contents of Pandora are enough to doom him. He'll either launch a frantic counterattack, attempting to reclaim or destroy it, or... he'll find a scapegoat. He might even distort the facts to higher-ups within the Watchers, labeling us as completely out-of-control and dangerous, and requesting even more extreme elimination orders."

Si Qi's eyes were cold: "Then let him come." He glanced at Shao Wei, who was leaning against the window not far away and quietly watching the snow. "I won't let anyone touch a hair on his head again."

Two days later, Shao Wei was able to get out of bed and walk slowly. The afternoon sun was shining brightly, and Si Qi helped him walk to the only window in the observatory that offered a good view.

Outside the window is a mountain range covered with snow, sparkling brightly in the sun, pure and magnificent.

Shao Wei watched quietly, his icy blue eyes reflecting the snow, appearing exceptionally peaceful. After a long moment, he spoke softly, as if talking to himself, but also as if to Si Qi: "Before... I always felt that this world was cold and boring."

Si Qi's heart skipped a beat.

Shao Wei continued speaking in a calm voice, without complaint, simply stating a fact: "Look at it now... Actually, the snow scene is quite beautiful."

Si Qi followed his gaze, looking at the world covered in silver, then looked down at the peaceful and gentle profile of the person beside him. The barren ice field in his heart seemed to finally be illuminated by the sun, and the ice and snow began to melt, sprouting the buds of hope.

He hugged Shao Wei from behind very naturally and carefully, resting his chin lightly on the top of his head, and smelling the medicinal and clear scent of cedar.

"Yes," Si Qi responded in a low voice, with unprecedented warmth and confidence in his voice, "From now on, I will accompany you to see all the scenery."

Shao Wei's body paused slightly, then slowly relaxed, leaning back into Si Qi's warm, firm embrace. He didn't say anything, but nodded very lightly, almost imperceptibly.

The sunlight shines through the glass, enveloping the two people hugging each other with warmth.

At this moment, there was no lust, only a sense of peace and mutual dependence after enduring the calamity of life and death. They were brothers, companions, the lost halves of each other, and the only thing that would remain indispensable in the long years to come.

Suddenly, Shao Wei seemed to remember something and tilted his head slightly to look at Si Qi. The sunlight danced on his long eyelashes, and there was an extremely rare, almost cunning glimmer in his ice-blue eyes.

"So," he said calmly, dropping a bombshell, "did you give me the cold shoulder for those three years? Was it because you lost your memory and forgot I was your brother, or was it simply because... marriage was just a formality?"

Si Qi: “!!!”

He froze instantly, his arms around Shao Wei petrified, his handsome face flushing visibly red, even to the tips of his ears. The dark history he'd longed to bury, now being brought up and publicly condemned in such a calm tone, was more terrifying than facing the muzzle of a "Watchmen" gun!

"I... well..." Mr. Si, always a master of debating at the negotiation table, seemed tongue-tied now. He stammered, unable to muster a complete explanation. What could he say? Was he ashamed of being tied down by a family marriage and marrying an Alpha? Was he embarrassed that Shao Wei's silence and dullness didn't fit his ideal of a partner? Now it sounded completely ridiculous!

Seeing him so embarrassed and bewildered, wishing he could disappear right there, the glimmer in Shao Wei's icy blue eyes seemed to brighten a little. The corners of his mouth slightly curved upwards with great restraint. Then he turned back and continued to look at the snowy scene outside the window, his tone still calm:

"Forget it." "Remember to make your own coffee next time."

Si Qi: “…”

He was stunned for two seconds, then a surge of ecstasy and relief washed over him! Is this... the end of the story? Although the attached conditions were a bit "humiliating", compared to being punished later, this was practically amnesty!

He immediately tightened his arms, hugged the person in his arms tighter, and rubbed his chin against Shao Wei's soft head in a flattering manner, his voice filled with uncontrollable joy and solemnity:

"Cook! I'll cook for you from now on! I'll cook as much as you want! You can add sugar or milk!"

Shao Wei didn't say anything else, just let him hold her in his arms. The sunlight fell on the corners of his slightly raised lips, reflecting a very faint but real, warm arc.

There is still ice and snow outside the window, but spring seems to have already arrived in this dilapidated observation station and in the hearts of the two Alphas hugging each other tightly.

Chasing my husband at the crematorium finally burned away all the barriers and misunderstandings, and the remaining warmth just happened to warm the rest of my life.
