My Alpha
Shao Wei's airy words, "Remember to make your own coffee next time," and the barely perceptible curve of his lips, felt like a feather, gently tickling Si Qi's heart, bringing with it an indescribable tingling sensation of ecstasy. He was almost flattered, tightening his arms, holding her even tighter in his embrace, his chin resting on the soft crown of her head, and repeatedly promising, "Make it! I'll make it all! Double the sugar, double the milk!"
The person in his arms didn't respond, but just leaned against him quietly. The sunlight cast a soft glow on his pale profile, and even the finest hairs were clearly visible. There was a sense of almost transparent fragility, but also a kind of tranquility after the dust had settled.
Si Qi's heart was filled to the brim, and all those anxious, regretful, and violent emotions were quietly soothed away, leaving only the treasure of regaining what had been lost and the impulse to present the best things in the world to the other person.
The two of them just hugged each other, looking at the snowy scene outside the window, neither of them speaking. A tacit understanding and tranquility flowed in the air that needed no words.
Until Shao Wei's body swayed slightly, revealing a hint of fatigue. Si Qi immediately noticed it and carefully picked him up horizontally - his movements were as gentle as if he was handling a piece of rare and fragile glass.
Shao Wei's body stiffened for a moment, a hint of embarrassment flashing across his icy blue eyes, as if he wasn't used to this rather princess-like hug. He subconsciously raised his hand to push her away, but in the end, he only rested it lightly on Si Qi's shoulder. He tilted his head, a barely perceptible blush spreading across his ears.
Si Qi carried him back to the bed steadily, carefully settled him down, and covered him with a blanket. Every movement he made was extremely gentle and considerate.
"Sleep for a while?" Si Qi asked in a low voice, smoothing the loose hair on his forehead with his fingertips.
Shao Wei nodded and closed his eyes. Perhaps it was the warmth of the sun, or perhaps it was the comforting presence of his surroundings, but he soon fell asleep, his breathing even and long.
Si Qi sat by the bed, his eyes greedily lingering on the peaceful sleeping face, as if he could never see enough.
Dr. Chen quietly approached, handed him a report he had just analyzed, and whispered, "Good news. Pandora contains some preliminary research data on pheromone disorders. Although incomplete, it points to a possibility - utilizing the natural resonance between the twin glands to gently guide and organize pheromones may gradually restore damaged glandular function, which is more fundamental than any external drug intervention."
Si Qi's eyes lit up instantly, as if he had grabbed a life-saving straw: "How to do it specifically?"
"It requires a high level of tacit understanding and trust, and the process can feel somewhat... intimate." Dr. Chen pushed his glasses up, choosing his words carefully. "It requires a prolonged and deep interweaving of your pheromones. The one guiding the process needs extreme patience and control, while the one receiving the process needs to be completely relaxed and open, without any resistance. The slightest mistake on either side could trigger a pheromone backlash."
Si Qi said without hesitation: "I can learn. What do you need me to do?"
His eyes were determined. For Shao Wei, there was nothing he could not do or learn.
In the days that followed, Si Qi, aside from caring for Shao Wei, devoted all his energy to learning this special pheromone-guiding method from Dr. Chen. He studied with utmost diligence, even demanding himself to master every single pheromone flow. For a top-tier Alpha accustomed to pheromones as a deterrent and a symbol of power, this was no easy task; it was like trying to teach a tiger to embroider.
But he did it. For Shao Wei, he could transform all his sharpness and domineering attitude into the most extreme gentleness and patience.
Shao Wei's health was gradually recovering. Though his glands remained fragile, he no longer needed to stay in bed all day. He would lean against the headboard, reading the old books Dr. Chen had brought him, and occasionally watching Si Qi clumsily yet diligently practicing pheromone control. Seeing the once aloof and arrogant Alpha, who even considered his susceptible period a formality, now frowning for him, his hair damp with sweat, just to tame the fierce sandalwood into a gentle trickle, a complex, inexpressible emotion would flicker across Shao Wei's icy blue eyes.
That day, Shao Wei's spirits were noticeably better. He even slowly walked to the window and stood there for a while. Seeing this, Si Qi took a deep breath, walked over to him, and spoke with a subtle hint of nervousness and tentativeness: "Shao Wei, Dr. Chen said... there's a method that might help you repair your gland."
Shao Wei turned his head to look at him, his eyes calm, waiting for his next words.
Si Qi explained the principles and requirements of the pheromone guidance method as concisely and calmly as possible, and finally emphasized: "If you feel uncomfortable or unwilling in any way, we won't try it. It's okay, we can find another way."
He looked at Shao Wei nervously, afraid to see the slightest hesitation or resistance from him.
Shao Wei listened quietly, his gaze slowly shifting from Si Qi's tense face to the window. After a long moment, he spoke softly, answering a question that was not directly related to the question: "The sun is shining brightly today."
Si Qi was stunned for a moment.
Shao Wei slowly turned his head, his ice-blue eyes appeared particularly clear in the sunlight. He looked at Si Qi and nodded very slightly.
There was no direct verbal answer, but the action and the look were enough.
Si Qi's heart sank, but then it was filled with immense joy and a sense of responsibility. He cautiously extended his hand: "Go to the sofa over there? It'll be more comfortable."
Shao Wei placed his hand in his palm.
Si Qi guided him to sit on the old sofa, and he sat on a low stool beside him, the height of which was just right for Shao Wei to lean against him comfortably.
"Close your eyes, relax, and leave it to me." Si Qi's voice was low and gentle, with a reassuring magic.
Shao Wei closed his eyes as he was told, his long, thick eyelashes casting a faint shadow under his eyes. He could feel Si Qi's fingers gently brushing away the collar at the back of his neck. When the slightly cool fingertips touched the skin around the gland, his body trembled almost imperceptibly.
"Don't be afraid." Si Qi's breath approached, its warmth brushing against his ear, bringing not a sense of aggression but a sense of calm protection. At the same time, an extremely gentle, sun-warmed sandalwood fragrance began to permeate the air, no longer the previous scent that carried a strong sense of possession and marking, but more like a silent invitation and comfort.
Shao Wei's tense nerves slowly relaxed under this familiar yet unfamiliar atmosphere. He tried to follow Si Qi's previous guidance, gradually letting down his guard and trying to accept it.
This was an extremely slow process. For two alphas who had once been independent and powerful, and especially for the traumatized Shao Wei, completely opening their glands to another alpha and allowing the other's pheromones to penetrate deeply was tantamount to handing over their most vulnerable vital points.
Si Qi sensed Shao Wei's slight stiffness and instinctive resistance. He immediately stopped all movements and simply maintained the gentle pheromone wrapping, waiting patiently and whispering soothingly over and over again: "Don't worry, let's take it slow... I'm here..."
His voice, like his pheromones, was full of reassuring power.
Time passed slowly. Shao Wei's breathing gradually became deeper and longer, and his body completely relaxed, leaning back against the sofa cushions. He finally accepted Si Qi's breath completely.
Si Qi held his breath and began to try to take the next step - guiding a trace of his pheromone, like the most delicate trickle, extremely slowly and carefully to Shao Wei's damaged gland.
When the two homologous but independent pheromones actually began to come into contact and try to merge, both of them felt their bodies shake at the same time!
An indescribable tremor and resonance from the depths of their souls swept over them! It was as if two parts that had been separated for too long finally began to slowly and firmly reconnect!
Si Qi felt the fragility of Shao Wei's glands and those disordered, tangled energy channels. His heart tightened and his movements became more cautious. He guided his pheromones like the most dexterous fingers and began to patiently and bit by bit sort out the congestion and chaos.
This process was incredibly draining. Si Qi had to maintain utmost concentration and control, and beads of sweat soon formed on his forehead. Meanwhile, Shao Wei endured the strange sensation of having his glands touched and combed by external energy (even if it was from the same source). There was a stinging sensation, a soreness, but more of a sense of... a deep, gentle, soothing feeling. He unconsciously let out a soft, soothing sound, like a young animal being soothed.
Sunlight streamed through the window, quietly scattering over the two of them. In the air, the cool scent of cedar and the warm scent of sandalwood intertwined more deeply than ever before, no longer in conflict, no longer one rising while the other receded. Instead, like vines and trees, they coexisted and flourished together, forming a unique and harmonious atmosphere filled with tranquility and vitality.
Dr. Chen and Silver Fox stood in the distance, watching this scene with bated breath, their eyes filled with relief and shock. They could clearly feel the changes in their pheromone fields, a deeper level of fusion and balance that transcended ordinary Alpha connections.
After an unknown amount of time, Si Qi slowly withdrew his pheromones. He looked like he had just been pulled out of the water, drenched in sweat. His face was even paler than Shao Wei's. His eyes were full of fatigue, yet sparkled with excitement and joy.
Success! Although it was just a preliminary combing of the first guidance, he could feel that the violent and chaotic energy in Shao Wei's glands seemed to calm down a little!
Shao Wei slowly opened his eyes. His icy blue pupils seemed to have been washed by water, clear and bright, with a sense of laziness and comfort that comes from being well-nourished. The glands in the back of his neck were still fragile, but the constant, stabbing pain seemed to have eased considerably, replaced by a warm, full feeling.
He looked at Siqi and saw that his face was covered with sweat and fatigue. His lips moved as if he wanted to say something.
Si Qi, however, took the lead and showed a tired but extremely brilliant smile, his voice hoarse but happy: "How do you feel? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
Shao Wei shook his head, his eyes fell on Si Qi's sweaty forehead, paused for a few seconds, then very slowly raised his somewhat weak hand, and used his sleeve to gently wipe the sweat from his forehead.
The movements were awkward, even a little clumsy, but they made Si Qi completely frozen. His heart felt like it was shot by the gentlest arrow, and it felt sore and weak.
He suddenly grabbed Shao Wei's hand and put it on his cheek. His eyes were hot and his voice was choked with sobs: "...It's worth it."
It's all worth it.
Shao Wei did not pull his hand back, but let him hold it. His ice-blue eyes curved slightly, revealing a very faint but real smile.
Just like the ice and snow melting, spring returns to the earth.
When Si Qi looked at this smile, he felt that the whole world was bright.
He knew that the road to gland repair was still long and that external threats still existed. But at this moment, embracing his recovered half of his body and feeling the renewed, deeper connection between them, he was filled with endless courage and hope.
The embers in the crematorium finally cooled down completely, and what bloomed was not a flower of ashes, but a pair of lotus flowers that had weathered the frost and become even more resilient and gorgeous.
The future is still long, but he and his other half have finally embarked on a common path that truly belongs to them.
