☆397.Chapter 398 Trial (Part 1)

Chapter 398: Judgment (Part 1)

Not long after, a tall orc appeared inside. The orc stood at the door, holding a battle axe in both hands, scanning the humans around him. When his gaze moved to Fording, the orc became obviously angry. The orc felt that he had been deceived. He saved his life, but he brought his enemy to his home!

The old orc limped forward. Fording knew that his injuries were worse than before, and perhaps they had been infected. The old orc's eyes were full of hatred, and he howled angrily. Anyone could see that this orc would not let him be taken away alive.

Barthilas just wanted to borrow the musket from the soldier next to him when he heard the order of the Grand Lord Dathrohan.

"Don't kill this creature! Let him live!"

Barthilas looked back, and the smile on his face froze. Dathrohan was looking at him, and the order was clear. Barthilas turned his head to face the orc and swallowed. Barthilas was not very confident in his fighting skills, but the overlord was watching from behind, and he could not retreat. This is a glorious moment!

"Brothers! Follow me!"

Barthilas shouted, and he suddenly rushed towards the old orc, swinging his weapon that did not threaten him at all and attacked the orc. Barthilas's target was the orc's head. He had forgotten what Dathrohan had said. However, his attack was not threatening at all. The old orc parried Barthilas' attack very skillfully, then moved out a fist and smashed it on Barthilas' face with a bang. Fording could feel his pain from a distance. In fact, Barthilas was in so much pain that he even dropped his hammer. The experienced old orc naturally would not seize this opportunity. He kicked her in the abdomen, and Barthilas fell to the ground with his butt. The old orc chuckled and mocked the orc in front of him.

Until this time, the soldiers behind Barthilas just came up and raised their weapons to chop the orc. Although the old orc was lame, he was still very agile. He dodged the attack of the first human soldier and raised his axe to chop at the second soldier. He hit the heart of the human warrior and cut off half of his body. The gushing blood aroused the anger of the human soldiers, and they rushed up frantically to kill the orc.

"Don't kill him!"

Fording shouted directly. Dathrohan looked at his old friend in disbelief. He actually spoke for the orc. Dathrohan lowered his voice and asked, "You care about that orc? Why?"

Fording did not answer his old friend. He looked at the orc with a serious face, watching the orc who saved him and valued him dying. But he couldn't save him. He could see that his companions were suspicious of him. If he went to save him, he would be labeled a traitor. But the old orc was in such a state because of him. For a paladin, this was against his inner creed.

While Fording was struggling, the old orc bravely fought the infantry, but he was easily defeated by strategy. However, in the end, his injured leg held him back, and six infantrymen successfully pinned the strong orc to the ground. One of them hit the orc's hand hard, and the old orc was forced to let go of his tightly held axe. The warriors quickly began to beat the orc half to death. As he watched the infantry subdue the orc, every nerve in Fording's brain was beating. He wanted to rush over, to pull the infantry apart. The infantry pulled the bleeding orc to his feet, but his determination to save the creature suddenly disappeared, and he couldn't pick up a weapon to fight his own people.

At this time, Barthilas just crawled out of the dirt. The kid had been lying on the ground in the previous battle. He didn't want to be beaten by the orc again. He kicked him so hard that his internal organs were dislocated. Now seeing the orc being pinned down by his companions, Barthilas mustered up his courage again, clenched his fists and wanted to hit the orc.

"Stop! I want a live person. Have you forgotten my order? Lock up this orc!" Dathrohan stopped Barthilas, and a group of infantry pulled a prison cart over and threw the old orc in.

Seeing the old orc being thrown in, Fording turned to Dathrohan and said, "My lord, this old orc is indeed not a threat to anyone."

Before Fording finished speaking, Dathrohan interrupted him in surprise: "What are you talking about, Tirion? Do you really suggest that we let this beast go back?"

The other soldiers also looked at Fording in surprise. Fording turned back and stared at the beaten old orc. His face was swollen and dripping with blood. The old orc looked back. The orc's eyes seemed to say that your so-called honor theory is just talk, and in fact, you are still no different from those ordinary people. The soldiers continued to beat and whip the old orc through the railings of the cage. They spat at the old orc and shouted obscene words.

Fording couldn't stand it anymore and rushed forward to push the soldiers: "Stop it!"

Dathrohan's face was very disappointed. In his heart, his good friend had now turned his back on the path of the Paladin and spoke for a sinful alien.

"Tirion, have you said goodbye to your reason? This orc must be judged!" Dathrohan shouted in a deep voice. Barthilas was laughing triumphantly behind him. Fording shook his head and grabbed the lock and tried to break it open. Dathrohan suddenly pointed at Fording, and Dathrohan's soldiers immediately went up and grabbed Fording's arms. Fording tried his best to struggle free, but due to his old age, he was neither able nor willing to hurt these young people.

"In the name of the Holy Light!" Dathrohan walked up to Fording and said, "Tirion, tell me, what kind of magic did the orc cast on you? You actually did such a rebellious act! Why did you try your best to release this creature! You must give me an explanation!"

"Because this orc saved my life!" Fording shouted loudly, "When we were fighting, part of the ceiling of the tower collapsed. I was trapped and defenseless. This orc pulled me out before the entire roof fell. I know this sounds unlikely, but it happened."

As Fording said, most people here don't believe that an orc will save a human, but Dathrohan really believes it. However, as a lord, he cannot openly agree with such remarks.

"I swore to let him live in peace. I swore with my honor that I would fight to keep him alive!"
