Chapter 69: Thieves Have Their Own Code



I nodded and he shook his head and sighed.

The Beggar King was worried. He knew the business that group of people were doing, which was a life of risky living. He asked me not to go, but I went anyway. They heard about my purpose and met me.

The one sitting in the middle seemed to be their boss. He had a fierce look on his face. He didn't say anything, just looked at me and smiled. Then he took out a photo and asked me to see if it was the person I was looking for.

The photo seemed to be taken in a dim basement, but I still recognized him at first glance!

I begged their boss to let me take my father away, but their boss looked at me with contempt and said, "This is how you ask for help."

The guy next to me kicked me in the leg, then came over to hold me down, trying to make me kneel down. I supported myself with my hands and refused to kneel.

The two sides confronted each other, and finally when their boss impatiently ordered his subordinates to take action, a team of police broke in and subdued them, but their boss reacted quickly and ran away.
