Chapter 65: Disagreement over Dividends

Grandpa Shen and his wife had wanted to talk to their grandson for a while, but when Yun Yan urged them to leave, they knew it was time for him to go. Although it was late at night and quiet, they were afraid that someone might find out, which would be bad for everyone.

"Xiaoye, please leave quickly. Don't come here again. If someone sees you, it will cause trouble for Yun Zhiqing." Grandpa Shen said.

"Grandpa, I will be careful. You and grandma must take good care of your health. I believe we will wait for the day when we can be reunited openly." Chen Ye said with a firm look in his eyes.

"Xiaoye, grandpa and grandma know that you are a good child. But now you have to keep your distance from us. This is also for your own good." Grandma Liang said with a choked voice.

"Okay, stop talking. Xiaoye, hurry up and leave." Grandpa Shen urged.

Chen Ye said goodbye to his grandparents reluctantly, and blew out the candle after walking to the door.

Yun Yan saw that Chen Ye finally came out, and she felt relieved. She quickly pulled him out of the cowshed.

No one in the cowshed was in the mood to sleep. Chen Lei and his wife were too excited to sleep, while Zhang Hua and his wife and Gu Yuantong were too moved by the deep love between the grandparents and grandchildren that had just been shown.

They were also sent down because of being reported by their relatives. It is estimated that no one in their family would look for their whereabouts like Shen Ye did.

On the other side, Yun Yan and Shen Ye returned home in silence. As soon as they got home and closed the door, Shen Ye wanted to speak, but Yun Yan interrupted him.

"I know what you want to say. There's no need to thank you. I helped them because they helped me first."

"If you want me to take care of them for you in the future, then don't say it." Yun Yan said calmly.

"Why? Since you are willing to help Grandpa and the others, why can't you help more thoroughly? Is it because of money? If it's about money, I can..."

"Chen Ye, are you so happy to see your grandparents that you've lost your brain in the cowshed?" Yun Yan interrupted him.

"Don't you think about it? Your grandparents were sent down to the Red Flag Brigade. In everyone's eyes, they did the most tiring work and ate the worst food."

"Under these conditions, if their complexions and spirits are better than those of the villagers in the Red Flag Brigade, what does that mean?"

After hearing Yun Yan's words, Shen Ye finally reacted. Yes, grandpa and grandma were people who were sent down to the countryside. How could they live better than the villagers? Wouldn't this clearly tell others that someone was secretly taking care of them?

"I'm sorry, Yun Zhiqing. I was so worried when I saw how grandpa and grandma looked. I was confused because of my concern." Chen Ye apologized to Yun Yan.

"You don't have to apologize to me. I just hope you can be calmer when encountering things next time."

"It's late, go to bed early. If you feel cold, you can fill this bottle with hot water and put it in your bed." Yun Yan pointed to the empty glass bottle on the table and went back to the bedroom.

The next day, after breakfast, Yunyan went to the brigade office. Before she even arrived, she heard a commotion inside, so she hurried over.

"Captain, this is unfair. We refuse to accept it."

"Exactly. Why do they get all the benefits? They earn the money, and they also take over the work in the sweet potato vermicelli workshop."

"That's right. Why can they eat meat while we can't even drink soup?"

"Who told you to be so unwilling to contribute money when we held the fundraising meeting? Now that you see the benefits, you're getting jealous. Who do you think you are?"

"That's right. The captain made it very clear when we first came to the meeting. Who do you think you can blame?"

I've changed my mind now. I don't care. I want to buy shares and work in the workshop anyway."

The team leader was given a headache by their noise. He should have been happily distributing money to the villagers, but all his good mood was ruined by such interference.

From their quarrel, Yun Yan knew the whole story.

It turned out that the villagers who had not contributed money to the fundraising at the beginning heard the news that the workshop was distributing the money today, and they all ran to the team leader and asked to invest in the sweet potato vermicelli workshop again.

Of course, the team leader and other villagers who have invested in the company would not agree. Who would be willing to share their money with others?

So the two teams started arguing in the brigade office, and the brigade leader and other village cadres were helpless.

When the captain saw Yun Yan, he was like seeing a savior: "Yun Zhiqing, you are finally here. It was you who came up with this sweet potato vermicelli. You have the final say on how to solve this problem."

Liu Defu really had no choice. Both sides were villagers from the Hongqi Brigade, and he couldn't afford to offend anyone.

When Yun Yan heard the captain actually put the blame on her, she almost wanted to curse loudly. Liu Defu was too treacherous, actually letting her do something that offended others.

But things always need to be resolved, so Yun Yan had to step forward to solve it.

"Captain, if you do, then I mean you disagree. The fundraising meeting was voluntary. No one forced them to contribute, right? You can't just jump out and take a share of the benefits. How would those villagers who followed us without hesitation feel about that?"

Yun Yan was very direct. If Liu Defu agreed to a redistribution of shares, she would rather give the sweet potato vermicelli recipe to other brigades for free. She would rather give it to outsiders than to a group of greedy villains. Today, the sweet potato vermicelli workshop was profitable. If it lost money, would they still make such a fuss?

"Yun Zhiqing, what do you mean? Don't think you are so great just because you came up with a recipe. Let me tell you, you have no say in the Red Flag Brigade." The speaker was Pan Di's mother.

"That's right, he thinks he's so great just because he came up with an idea, and he wants to be our boss."

"Of course I have the final say on the recipe, Captain. I'm making this clear today. If you want to invest again, I'll tell the captains of the other brigades how to make sweet potato vermicelli noodles. You should know better than me what the consequences will be."

Yun Yan was angered by the shameless villagers who only wanted to take advantage of the ready-made food without taking any risks.

The team leader and other village cadres immediately started to panic after hearing Yun Yan's words. If Yun Yan told other teams the method of making sweet potato vermicelli, the Red Flag Team would not only lose the fat sheep that was about to be in their mouths, but would also be laughed at by the other teams.

Looking at the still clamoring villagers, the team leader got angry and said, "Those of you who haven't invested in the company should go back. The matter has been decided and cannot be changed."

"When we raised funds and invested, we signed a cooperation agreement. No matter how much you make a fuss, you can't change this." The deputy captain continued.

Some villagers wanted to continue making trouble, but the team leader sternly said, "If anyone makes trouble again, you will all be forced to carry manure when spring comes."
