Chapter 11: Faking Sickness

Chapter 11: Faking Sickness

When Wei Yuan arrived at Yu's house, Yu Zhi had almost finished cooking.

As soon as he entered the door, he smelled a strong fragrance, which smelled almost the same as the dishes in Shansongju, the best traditional restaurant on Central Star.

Wei Yuan looked surprised and subconsciously walked towards the kitchen.

Yu Zhi actually knows how to cook? And it smells delicious?

A girl's sweet voice came from the kitchen, as if asking Yu Yao to try the taste, followed by Yu Yao's exaggerated and shocked praise.

The girl felt a little embarrassed by the compliment, and urged Dao Yu Yao to serve the rice. The two seemed to be cooperating very harmoniously.

Yu Yao came out with three bowls of rice and saw Wei Yuan standing quietly outside the door.

"Brother Wei Yuan?" He was startled by the sudden appearance of the figure. Only when he realized it was Wei Yuan did he greet him with surprise and joy, "Are you looking for Xiao Li?"

Wei Yuan was a little confused. Didn’t Yu Yu tell him that he was coming?

"Xiao Li told me that you cooked lunch and asked me to come and eat together." Wei Yuan answered truthfully.

Yu Yao was stunned for a moment before he quickly said, "...Oh! Okay, then I'll go get you another bowl of rice!"

He hurried to the side hall, put down the bowls of rice in his hands, then turned back to the kitchen to busy himself.

Wei Yuan was now certain that Yu Yi had indeed not informed Yu Yao of his coming. He thought for a moment, then walked in, coughed lightly, and said, "If you don't have extra food, don't bother. I can eat outside."

Yu Zhi stopped what she was doing and uttered a "ah" as softly as a kitten. Then, she said hello in a somewhat flustered manner: "Hello, Brother Wei Yuan... It's not a bother."

"Yes, there is enough rice, and we just prepared some extra dishes." Yu Yao also said quickly.

Yu Zhi saw several dishes that she wanted to eat, so she picked them out and prepared them all at once. She put the extra ones in the refrigerator to prepare in the evening. Now was the perfect time to cook them all at once.

Wei Yuan nodded gently: "Okay, is there anything I can help you with?"

He rolled up the cuffs of his shirt twice, and the raised blue veins on the back of his hands looked like extremely vital and aggressive veins, extending along the sleeves and disappearing.

Yu Yao was about to say no, but Yu Zhi took the lead and gave orders: "Brother Wei Yuan, please help me get the vegetables and minced meat from the fresh-keeping box."

"Okay." Wei Yuan responded and looked around to find the location of the incubator.

He brought the things as Yu Zhi requested, and watched her stir, add oil, and cook skillfully. Her face showed a concentration and gentleness that was completely different from usual. From time to time, she would naturally let Wei Yuan pass things to her, or help her.

With the addition of one more person, the new dishes were quickly prepared. After being busy for a while, Yu Zhi stretched out to relax.

She didn't notice that Wei Yuan was watching her cook from a very close position. The back of her hand accidentally brushed against Wei Yuan's plump and firm chest, and she could feel the distinct lines of his muscles and his body temperature burning the hairs on his skin.

Yu Zhi withdrew her hand in shock, turned her head and looked over, her eyes wide as if she were a rabbit, her voice becoming a little halting: "Wei...Brother Wei Yuan..."

Wei Yuan was also a little stunned. He suddenly felt an itch where she had brushed his fingers. He cleared his throat as if to cover it up and apologized, "Sorry, I was standing too close."

He took two steps back politely and explained, "I was watching you cook just now and was a little curious."

Yu Zhi accepted his explanation, the embarrassment in her expression faded, and she took the initiative to say, "If Brother Wei Yuan is interested, I can send you the recipe tutorial."

"No thanks," Wei Yuan said, then realized that a blunt refusal might embarrass the girl, and added, "I don't usually have time to cook."

Yu Zhi nodded in understanding, as if it was just a casual remark.

Yu Yao brought the dishes to the table, including tomato egg drop soup, spicy fried pork with honey, steamed glutinous rice balls, vegetables stewed in broth, and peppery dace fish fillets. The colors and presentation were very beautiful, and Yu Yao couldn't help but open his laptop to take a picture.

He boasted on his homepage: [A meal I made with Zhizhi. /Picture]

Someone commented immediately, their tone full of envy, which made Yu Yao feel proud.

There were also people who knew something about the Yu family, and out of curiosity or inquiry, they chatted with him privately to inquire about his current relationship with Yu Zhi.

Yu Yao snorted coldly. He knew what these people meant. They just still had prejudices against Zhizhi. He publicly commented on this post, "Zhizhi is my biological sister," and then turned off the computer.

Second floor.

Yu Yi estimated that Wei Yuan was about to arrive, and Yu Zhi's "dark cuisine" was probably no longer effective, so he slowly got up and went downstairs.

As soon as she reached the first floor, she smelled a rich fragrance. Yu Yu had eaten little in the morning, and her stomach growled twice, as if telling her how delicious it would taste.

Her steps froze, and the strategic planning and calculations on her face suddenly collapsed like half-assembled building blocks, leaving her in a state of confusion at having her plans disrupted.

Wei Yuan's voice could be heard from the side hall. Why did he arrive so early? Why didn't he send me a message?

Yu Yu's mind was in a mess. He forgot where he was and what he was doing. His chest felt tight.

She didn't even know how she walked to the dining table, but when she saw the delicious food on the table, Yu Yu realized that her face must be very ugly.

Sure enough, Wei Yuan's somewhat worried gaze met his face: "Xiao Li, are you feeling unwell?"

We can’t let Wei Yuan stay here to eat! This thought quickly ran into Yu Yu’s mind.

Yu Yao, who was standing by, also asked with concern: "Xiao Li, what's wrong with you? Otherwise..."

Yu Yi came back to his senses and said, "I... I feel a little uncomfortable and have no appetite... A Yuan, can you accompany me upstairs?"

"Yes." Wei Yuan stepped forward to support her, "I'll help you up."

"Xiao Li, how about we have a medical robot take a look?" Yu Yao saw that she looked really bad, and said, "If you have no appetite, I can get you some nutritional supplements."

Yu Yi said weakly, "It's okay, no need... I just need to rest a little longer."

"Okay then." Yu Yao felt a little sorry. He and Zhizhi made such delicious dishes, but Xiaoli didn't have the chance to enjoy them. Fortunately, Brother Wei Yuan came, otherwise the two of them would definitely not be able to finish them.

Thinking of this, he said again: "Brother Wei Yuan, we will wait for you to come down and eat together."

Yu Yu's already ugly expression suddenly darkened even more. This idiot, it was really a waste for him to grow up with him for so many years!

There was no reason for her to stop Wei Yuan from coming down to eat, so she could only pray in her heart that Wei Yuan would refuse. To this end, she leaned some of her body weight towards Wei Yuan, pretending to be very weak.

"Okay." Wei Yuan didn't show any sign of refusing. "I'll take Xiaoli back to the room first."

“…”
