Chapter 1: Wearing it? Yes, it is wearing it.

Chapter One: Wearing Well, wearing.

"How's it going? Did you get it done?"

In the dimness, I heard an old but shrill voice speaking, the tone full of urgency.

"She must be dead. I held a damp cotton cloth over her face for a long time, and I'm afraid she's dead."

The speaker was a male voice, and there was a slight tremor in the voice, with a hint of fear.

"Humph, a lazy and money-losing piece of shit. I've been supporting her for so many years in vain."

It was that shrill, harsh voice again, as unpleasant as chalk scratching on a blackboard.

Wu Yuetang heard this voice in a daze, and her heart was scratching and uncomfortable. But this voice was very unfamiliar.

No...I can't breathe...I feel so uncomfortable...

Wu Yuetang felt that she was having difficulty breathing, as if she was lacking oxygen. Her heartbeat gradually quickened due to lack of oxygen, and her mind began to clear up from her confusion.

With a whoosh, Wu Yuetang suddenly sat up from the bed, and the bed board beneath her creaked due to the huge movement.

The discussion outside the door suddenly stopped, and soon the rickety wooden door was kicked open with great force.

Wu Yuetang was still sitting on the bed, staring at the unfamiliar environment in front of her, her whole body still in a daze. The room in front of her was full of broken wooden furniture.

Some of the tables and chairs were even missing parts and had to be padded with stone slabs.

Wu Yuetang looked down at the piece of coarse cotton cloth in front of her, which had just fallen from her face. She reached out and touched it; it was wet.

She turned her head and looked at the people who rushed into the house. There were six or seven people in total. Leading the group was an elderly couple, followed by two young couples and a boy about ten years old.

Wu Yuetang frowned and looked at them, especially the old woman whose face was full of shock and fear.

For a moment, no one spoke in the whole room, and there were occasional gasps.

Wu Yuetang got off the bed with the wet cloth in her hand and walked in front of the people.

"Is this the cloth you put on my face?"

As soon as the words came out, Wu Yuetang was shocked. Why did the voice sound so childish? When she was hesitating, the old woman spoke.

"You! Why aren't you dead yet?!"

She pointed her calloused fingers at Wu Yuetang and questioned him angrily.

Wu Yuetang looked over and before she was about to say anything, she saw a man standing in front of her, blocking the old woman behind him.

"Tang'er, I did this. It has nothing to do with mother. If you're angry, come to me!"

Wu Yuetang looked up at the man in front of her and felt that he looked a little familiar.

"This has nothing to do with Big Brother. It's all your fault. You stay home all day doing nothing and eat more than a pig. We're not a wealthy family, so how could we possibly support you? Mother wanted to find you a matchmaker, but with your reputation and goodwill, not a single matchmaker came through in the past few months."

Another man on the side spoke, and after seeing his face clearly, Wu Yuetang was stunned.

This man had a long, diagonal scar at the corner of his right eye, dark skin, and liked to wear a cloth bag on his head. Wasn't this Wu Yongqiao, the second son of the Wu family in the novel he had just finished reading?

Just now they called themselves...Tang'er?

Tang'er? Wu Yuetang? The youngest daughter of the Wu family? The worthless one? The Wu Yuetang who ended up drowning in the river because she was too fat?

The people around looked at Wu Yuetang in front of them without saying a word, her face turning pale and blue, not knowing what she was thinking.

"Shit, I'm in a book!"

After digesting it for a while, Wu Yuetang finally accepted this fact and muttered softly.

Then he turned around to face the people in front of him, exhaled a breath, and spoke.

"I understand. This has nothing to do with you. It's my problem. I will change."

Her tone was calm and indifferent, and no one could tell her emotions from these words.

Old man Wu was a little surprised. This little girl usually makes a big fuss when things don't go her way. Has she changed her nature today?

"Tang girl, don't you blame us at all?"

Wu Shoutian couldn't help but ask, and even the pipe in his hand didn't smell good anymore, so he put it away.

"Whether I blame you or not, it won't change the facts, right? Instead of blaming you for what you did to me, it would be faster if I could change myself."

As Wu Yuetang spoke, he looked through the crowd and looked at the sky outside the house which was already turning white.

"Okay, don't get stuck here. We still have work to do, right?"

After saying that, Wu Yuetang squeezed out of the crowd, walked to the corner of the yard, found a backpack and a worn sickle, and walked towards the door.

"What's wrong with my little sister?" Wu Zhiyun, the youngest son of the Wu family, was a little slow to react. He was still muttering as he looked at the figure that had already walked away.

"Oh, go follow her quickly, before she causes any more trouble outside!"

Old Lady Wu reacted immediately, nudged Wu Zhiyun, and urged him to hurry up and follow. Although this girl said so now, who knows if she can change it.

It's not easy to turn things around after being lazy and gluttonous for more than ten years.

The eldest daughter-in-law Zhou Yulan and the younger daughter-in-law Chen Zhaodi looked at each other and said nothing.

Wu Yuetang was walking aimlessly on the road with a backpack on his back, still trying to figure out how to travel through the book.

"Why would I be in a book about fleeing famine? Do you think my life is too long?"

She hit the ground with her sickle as she walked, looked at the dry and bare yellow land, and sighed.

"I remember the original owner was just a cannon fodder in the book. She was spoiled beyond measure by her family when she was little, and she became even more arrogant after growing up. Not only was she lazy and gluttonous, she couldn't even do any work. In the end, she fell into a river and drowned while fleeing famine. There wasn't even a single person to save her. Oh, how pitiful."

Wu Yuetang muttered to herself, but her pace never slowed down. When she looked up again, she had already reached the foot of the mountain.

"It's been three years of drought since the Yu Dynasty. I don't know if we can find food in the mountains."

As she spoke, she walked up the mountain with her sickle in her hand. Wu Zhiyun, who was following behind her, was dumbfounded. He had imagined that she would find a place to slack off, or ask other villagers for food, but he never thought that she would actually go into the mountains.

As expected, the mountain is extremely barren. The ground is covered with weeds and there is no trace of wild vegetables at all.

Wu Yuetang took the sickle and knocked here and there, searching everywhere, when suddenly a voice appeared in his mind.

"The system has been activated and has detected wild potatoes within a 100-meter radius."

"What? What?"

Wu Yuetang paused. What was that sound she had just heard? System? That golden finger that was essential for time travel? System space?

Wu Yuetang's heart was pounding and she was overjoyed. If there was a system, this trip through the book would not be a waste.

"System, system, open the map, I want to dig potatoes."

"Okay, the map has been opened for the host. This is a level one map, and it can only display supplies within a radius of 500 meters. If you need to expand the range, the host needs to upgrade as soon as possible."

As soon as the system sound fell, an electronic map appeared in front of Wu Yuetang, and all the food, medicinal materials, and other supplies that could be dug around were marked out.

"Hey! Alright! Start digging!"

When Wu Yuetang saw the full mark, she couldn't wait to wave the sickle in her hand. As for the system upgrade and how to upgrade it, she would talk about it after she got back.
