Chapter 25: Debt Collection
Wu Yuetang took Ye Jingchen for a walk around the town twice, bought some ginger, green onions, edamame, and dried tofu, and then the two went home.
When he was only about a hundred meters away from his home, Wu Yuetang felt something was wrong. The area around his home was eerily quiet, and he could see the door was wide open from a distance.
"That's not right. The gate to our house is usually closed. Why is it open today?"
Although he was puzzled, Ye Jingchen quickened his pace and ran over carrying the wild boar.
Wu Yuetang stood at the door and looked at the mess in the yard, completely stunned.
What's going on? Was your house burglarized?
"Mom! Sister-in-law and sister-in-law! Are you there? Was there a burglary at home?"
Wu Yuetang shouted loudly towards the inner room, and Ye Jingchen also put the wild boar down and checked the yard with his keen intuition.
Hearing the younger sister's cry, the eldest and second sister-in-law ran out.
"Little sister, you're finally back, woooo."
The sister-in-law grabbed Wu Yuetang's arm and burst into tears without saying anything.

The redness and swelling on the sister-in-law's face were so obvious that Wu Yuetang was speechless at first glance. Was this house really robbed?

As the second sister-in-law spoke, she couldn't help crying.
"Don't cry, you two. What's going on? What kind of thief is this?"
Wu Yuetang's heart almost jumped into her throat.
"Master came today, bringing along my second brothers Wu Shouyi and Wu Qingtian."
The eldest sister-in-law was crying out of breath, and the second sister-in-law took over and told her what had happened before.
Wu Yuetang's face turned from white to red and then to black, and all his emotions turned into a swear word.
"Fuck you, you shameless old bastard, you actually dared to steal something from me!"
Wu Yuetang looked at her two sisters-in-law, "Where's Mom? Was she beaten?"
The second sister-in-law shook her head and said, "No, mother fainted from anger and is lying in the house now."
"My two sisters-in-law, please take good care of mother," Wu Yuetang nodded and continued, "I'm going to Maiduo Village."
After saying that, he turned around and left angrily. After searching in the yard for a while, he picked up the big machete he usually used to chop wood.
When Ye Jingchen saw her about to go out, he immediately followed her.
"I'll go with you."
Wu Yuetang looked at his determined eyes and nodded.
On the way to Maiduo Village, they met many neighbors. Some of them wanted to say hello, but when they saw Wu Yuetang holding a machete and a gloomy face, they were so scared that they didn't dare to speak.
Ye Jingchen explained what he had just done in the room.
"The rice jar is empty, the cellar is empty, the chicken coop is empty. There's no lard either."
"I want to let them know that my Wu family is not to be trifled with. Since they have come to rob with their lives, I don't know if they will have the lives to eat!"
Ye Jingchen was a little surprised by Wu Yuetang's vicious eyes, but he didn't appreciate it in his heart.
Dayao Village is not far from Maiduo Village. It can be reached by going around two hills. As the two of them walked very fast, they arrived at the gate of Maiduo Village in less than half an hour.
A few villagers at the entrance of the village saw that the two men looked unfamiliar and ran over to ask.
"You two aren't from our village, are you? Are you here looking for someone?"
"Uncle, may I ask where Wu Houfu's home is?"
Wu Yuetang asked, this also saved me the trouble of looking for it myself.
"Old Wu's house. Go straight to the end. The one with three haystacks at the door is his house."
"Thank you, uncle."
As he spoke, Wu Yuetang tightened his grip on the knife and rushed towards his destination.
Wu Shouyi, Liu, and their wives were happily counting the potatoes and sweet potatoes they had looted. The whole family was immersed in the joy of returning home with a full load when they heard a "bang" and their courtyard door was kicked into pieces.
Of course it was Ye Jingchen who kicked the door, Wu Yuetang didn't have that much strength.
The family looked towards the gate of the courtyard and saw Wu Yuetang like a god of death, dragging a large machete in his hand, rushing in with a ferocious look.
He walked up to the few people and stuck the machete directly into the wooden basin filled with sweet potatoes.
Before Wu Shouyi and his family could react, a knife appeared in front of them.
"Have I counted the food in my house?"
Wu Yuetang's sinister voice echoed in the ears of several people. They woke up instantly and got up quickly. Wu Shouyi and his wife Liu instinctively hid behind the old woman Liu.
"Wu Yuetang! What are you doing? You're holding a knife!"
Wu Shouyi pointed at Wu Yuetang and shouted angrily. His voice was so loud that it startled Wu Houfu and Wu Qingtian who were still resting in the room.
"Shout! Shout louder! Your family is still short of two more people!"
Wu Yuetang pulled out the machete and carried it on his shoulder, looking at the three people who were cowering in front of him with disdain, his heart full of contempt.
"Here I come."
Ye Jingchen's cold voice sounded in his ears, and then Wu Houfu and Wu Qingtian came over.
"Wu Yuetang! What are you doing?! Do you even know the proper etiquette?"
Wu Houfu walked over and stood in front of everyone, and started scolding Wu Yuetang!
"Oh! Etiquette! You are just a small family, and you still want to talk to me about etiquette! When you broke into my house and stole food, why didn't you say anything about etiquette!"
He pointed the machete at them, and as expected, they all backed away in fear. Wu Qingtian was so frightened that he fell to the ground.
"What do you mean by stealing your food? You earn money to buy food, so you should honor your parents. These are what you should give them!"
Wu Shouyi was still struggling desperately and talking nonsense.
"I've finally figured it out. Splitting up the family is just your excuse. If my father gets any benefits, you'll still come and grab them. Is there any difference between this and not splitting up the family at all?"
“They are not reasonable people.”
Ye Jingchen suddenly said something from the side, and this sentence happened to be heard by everyone in the Wu family.
"Who is this brat! Okay, you're a money-loser! You even brought a stranger home to cause trouble! How could the boss give birth to a bitch like you?"
Liu's voice was so sharp and piercing that Wu Yuetang scratched her ears unconsciously.
"What's it to you! If you can't talk, then shut up! Since we can't reason with you, then we won't talk anymore! Return everything you took out of my house to me, or don't blame me for being rude!"
Wu Yuetang stabbed the ground with the machete in his hand again, and saw cracks appear on the dry earth.
"Dad! What should I do? This girl is crazy!"
Wu Qingtian had never seen such a crazy person. Although he studied in the town and met many people, none of them was so fierce and vicious. He was so scared that he hid behind Wu Shouyi.
Wu Houfu looked at Wu Yuetang and the boy behind her with a serious look. They had been arguing since they entered the room. Even though she brought a big machete, she hadn't taken action yet, which meant that she didn't dare to confront them head-on. Since that's the case.
Wu Houfu walked into the house, took out a fire poker and rushed out, cursing.
"You stinky girl, you actually disobeyed your grandfather! I'll beat you to death!"
As he spoke, he swung the fire stick towards Wu Yuetang. Ye Jingchen's expression turned stern. He raised his right hand and grabbed one end of the stick. With a push back, all of Wu Houfu's strength was pushed back, and he fell directly on Wu Shouyi.
"court death!"
Ye Jingchen snorted coldly.
