The next day, Tian took a ox cart to the county town.
I finally found Grandma Mu's house, and just as I arrived at the door, I heard the sound of people arguing.
"Are you still human? You even want to take the medicine. What's the point of taking it back? Can it cure your shameless illness?"
"Then I don't care. Li Dayan injured me last time, so this will be considered as medical expenses."
Yesterday, Song Yuehua told Tian that she bought a month's supply of medicine and placed it at the head of Mrs. Mu's bed. Only one day had passed and someone came to snatch this thing.
Tian pushed open her mouth and shouted, "Officer, come and catch these bandits! They even robbed an old widow. How shameless!"
Tian's voice was so loud that a middle-aged woman ran out from the inner room and cursed, "What are you shouting for? Who are you? If you keep shouting, I will pull out your tongue."
"Then you pull it out!"
Tian was not afraid at all, and shouted, "Go find whoever owes you money. How can you bully an old woman? The government office is nearby, so let's go talk to the official!"
"Who are you trying to scare?" Although the woman refused to give in, she still threw the medicine bag back, glared at Tian hatefully, and then left.
Tian put away her things and as soon as she entered the house, she looked at each other in surprise.
"I was called by Miss Song to take care of you," Tian said again, "I'll make some medicine for you. Don't worry, I won't steal anything."
Mrs. Mu was not stupid either, she had heard what was said outside just now.
Tian looked at the greasy and dusty stove and the messy room, sighed, rolled up her sleeves and started working.
Fortunately, the water tank outside is full, as it would be very wasteful to clean it. Firewood here has to be bought at the market. If it were in the village, I could find a forest and cut several bundles of firewood myself. Living in the city is really expensive.
After making some medicine for Grandma Mu, Tian started to clean the kitchen after she finished drinking it.
It was not until near noon that the kitchen was cleaned up, and then the vegetables and rice that she brought were sorted out and a proper meal was cooked. When the meal was served, Granny Mu stammered and said, "Why bother..."
Tian ignored him and packed a separate portion and kept it warm on the stove.
After Grandma Mu finished eating, she wiped the bowl with her sleeve, and Tian took it over and said, "I'll wash it together."
"Don't come tomorrow, I can't afford it..." Mrs. Mu looked timid.
Song Yuehua didn't owe her anything. Instead, it was her own son who almost hurt her. Even if he was locked up, it was the decision of the officials. She had no reason to let others take care of him.
Tian sighed, "Grandma, the girl is a good person. She just can't bear to see others suffer. Don't think too much. I won't come here until your son comes home."
If it weren't for Tian, Mrs. Mu knew that she wouldn't be able to cook or do anything else, and she wouldn't even be able to drink a sip of water.
Mother Mu suddenly looked up and said, "Go out for a while and come back later."
Tian didn't react for a moment, then whispered, "Do you want to relieve yourself?"
Mother Mu looked embarrassed. Normally, she would crawl over such things by herself. But it was hard to explain to an outsider at home...
The toilet bowl that Tian found in the corner of the house was full. She asked Grandma Mu to wait for a while. After she emptied the toilet, she cleaned it and found the wooden rack that she used to use to relieve herself, and then she carried Grandma Mu onto the rack.
After closing the door, Tian asked from outside, "Aunt, do you have any clothes to change into? The sun is nice today, how about I give you a bath while you're at it?"
"Don't bother. My clothes are dirty, and the ones I changed into are also dirty." Mother Mu's voice came from the room.
Tian said, "Okay, I'll help you wash your dirty clothes first."
After Mu Po finished relieving herself, Tian took the chamber pot and went out to empty it, then washed it clean before putting it back.
When Zhang Erniu came over, Tian was washing clothes. She smiled and said, "The food is left on the stove for you. Go and eat."
"Thank you." Zhang Erniu put the rice and vegetables he brought into the kitchen.
Tian said without hesitation, "Erniu, help fill the water tank when you have time. I think we will need a lot of water in the next few days."
"Okay." Zhang Erniu responded while eating.
Tian took out a large pile of dirty clothes from under the bed and washed them for several hours, soaking and rubbing them. Fortunately, Zhang Erniu kept fetching water, and only then was she able to clean up all the dirty clothes.
After dinner, Tian packed up her things and said to Mu Pozi, "Grandma, I put all the things under the bed. I will come back tomorrow."
"Don't come tomorrow." Mrs. Mu turned her head away and said without turning back.
After spending a day together, Tian also roughly understood the character of this Mu Po and said with a smile, "I'll come over earlier tomorrow."
After returning to the Song family, Tian told Song Yuehua about what happened today. When Song Yuehua heard that Grandma Mu had to crawl to the toilet every day, she felt a little touched.
"The wheelchair that Master Duan made for Xiaofu was recently replaced with a new one. Auntie brought the old one to Grandma Mu, which is just right. When she's free, she can push it out to get some sun, help with some chores, and she doesn't have to lie in bed every day, unable to move."
After knowing this, Tian was also happy and said, "Actually, Mu Po is not a bad person, she just has a hard mouth but a soft heart."
The next day, Tian brought a wheelchair, helped Mu wash her hair, and then trimmed her fingernails and toenails with the scissors she brought.
In the past, no one would have considered these minor details. Granny Mu said uncomfortably, "You are just looking for trouble."
Tian raised her head and said with a smile, "I am free anyway, I am happy with it."
"Silly." Mrs. Mu cursed softly and let her go.
I don’t know how long it has been since I took such a clean bath.
