"Nothing much, it's just that the nun said that everyone has to live on campus for the sake of unified management and arrangements. Sigh, when you're under someone's roof, you have to bow your head," she said with a smile in her eyes, deliberately sighing, "The dorm conditions at the school are terrible, cold in winter and hot in summer, with only two toilets on the first floor, and the smell permeates the whole building."
"Moreover, the students in the dormitory have different levels of character, and things often go missing."
This was only the condition she had when she went to university; it's probably much worse now.
Qin Yuanjiu lowered his eyes and nodded: "That's good too. Although we are husband and wife, you haven't really taken our relationship seriously yet. I'm afraid you won't be able to bear sleeping in the same bed every night."
"Either I commit to our relationship against your wishes, or I burn myself to death. So until then, it's fine for us to live separately."
Ke Meiyu was stunned. Why wasn't it the same as she had imagined?
Isn't it because he can't hold his beauty every night and has to try every means to get her to stay out overnight?
Why should he be able to live comfortably in a spacious, bright, and clean two-story villa, while I have to live in a cramped, dark dormitory room for ten people that smells of fresh grains?
Why did her lucky streak suddenly stop working?
They went straight to the third canteen. The first floor was already packed with people, while the second floor was much more spacious. Those who could eat here were either single faculty members or students from well-off families, and their attire and demeanor were of a higher standard.
"Baby, how was your first day of school? Why are you so late?" The old lady and the old man had already set the table, and when they saw their granddaughter arrive, they quickly greeted her with smiles.
Finally meeting the organization, Ke Meiyu, looking aggrieved, clung to the old lady's arm and began to recount in a low, indignant voice what had happened that morning.
The old lady was furious. "How could she do this? My baby is so well-behaved, obedient, and beautiful. How is she bothering her? No, I have to talk to the school leaders!"
“Grandma,” Ke Meiyu quickly stopped her, “No need. She’s a teacher, and everything she does is reasonable. If we make a scene, we’ll only make ourselves look bad.”
“Am I the kind of person who lets others bully me? There’s plenty of time,” she said, cracking her knuckles and smiling sinisterly with narrowed eyes. “Grandma, just wait and see when I triumph!”
University life should be colorful and exciting, and there's endless fun in competing with others...
After dinner, Qin Yuanjiu and Ke Yuanxia rode their bicycles together to take Ke Meiyu to check in.
The administrator was a woman in her forties. She glanced at Ke Meiyu's information with a blank expression, then looked down at the registration book. "Student, you checked in too late. The girls' dormitories in your foreign language department are all full. You'll have to share a room with girls from other departments."
“This building number 13 was newly painted the year before last, and the beds were also replaced. It’s a six-person room,” she said, taking out paper and a brush to write out a slip of paper. “This is your floor and bed number.”
Qin Yuanjiu glanced at it, his eyes somewhat cold.
The manager, forcing a smile, said, "This is the sunny side, and it's far from the toilets. The third floor is neither too high nor too low, and everyone is scrambling for a spot."
Ke Meiyu nodded happily and thanked her.
The administrator looked somewhat reluctant, but simply reminded him, "Student, the rules in our school dormitories are quite strict. The doors close at 10 p.m. and you're not allowed to walk around the building. Keep a spittoon under your bed, okay?"
Ke Meiyu tilted her head, smiled, and nodded. She went outside and asked Qin Yuanjiu curiously, "Brother Jiu, this caregiver is so strange. She told me to keep a spittoon under the bed, but I don't have a cold and don't need to spit..."
Ke Yuanxia sighed, "Where did this silly little sister come from?"
He quickly pulled her aside and whispered, "Girl, a spittoon is for urinating."
"Pee?" She was still completely confused.
"It's just peeing! The building manager doesn't want you to go to the toilet after the lights are turned off!"
Ke Meiyu was taken aback. She was an ethereal fairy who didn't care about worldly affairs, and she really hadn't thought of a spittoon being the same as a chamber pot.
She even foolishly took this question to ask the main villain...
Meeting Qin Yuanjiu's ambiguous smile, Ke Meiyu said with a blank face, "This school has so many rules. They won't let us use the toilets. Can't I just bring a flashlight?"
The thought of someone taking care of something in the dormitory room, especially with the doors and windows closed in winter, was something she found hard to accept.
This dormitory building isn't far from the Foreign Languages Department's; it's roughly at the intersection of several college dormitories. The exterior is newer than other dormitories, with neat wiring and plumbing. Inside, the walls were only painted two years ago, making it clean and bright.
Ke Meiyu chuckled and boasted to Ke Yuanxia, "Brother, see? I'm so lucky, right? I got the best accommodations, without a doubt."
Ke Yuanxia nodded repeatedly, "Not bad, not bad. If you want to eat something later, just have Yunbao tell us, and we'll bring you breakfast in the morning."
Since school had already started and students had moved into the dormitories, Qin Yuanjiu and Ke Yuanxia were not allowed to enter.
Ke Yuanxia smiled and discussed with the building manager that her younger sister was not strong and had a lot of things to carry, so they would carry them up and bring them down.
The building manager wouldn't make any exceptions.
“That won’t do,” she said, pointing to a sign on the wall. “You can all read. It says ‘No men allowed.’ It’s all women living here. If something happens, I can’t be responsible.”
Ke Meiyu smiled and waved to her brother and Qin Yuanjiu, "It's okay, it's not much stuff. Wait for me a bit, I'll come down after I make the bed."
After saying that, she boldly picked up a large sack in each hand and went upstairs with light steps.
Facing the astonished gazes of the crowd, Ke Yuanxia lowered his head, coughed, and looked up at the sky and the ground with his hands behind his back.
