There was a kindergarten near the four courtyards, and since the family had five energetic children, Ke Meiyu discussed with Ying Yan about sending the children there.
The kids are incredibly smart, so it's good for them to interact more with other children their own age, which also helps to free up the adults.
Ying Yan smiled and replied, "Sure, Jin Yuan runs a kindergarten with a few of his brothers, and his wife is the principal. We can put in a word, pay the fee, and the child can be placed there one day."
“Before we moved here, I inquired about it. It costs 15 yuan per child, which includes three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The child is delivered at 8 a.m. and picked up at 5 p.m. There is a snack at noon and in the afternoon, along with fruit and milk. The conditions are quite good.”
"The kindergarten was just built last summer. It attracted many children with its 'buy one get one free' promotion. The site is large, with a three-story colorful building, a semi-open-air building, and a large outdoor recreational area."
“When they were building the park, they wanted to get me involved. But I thought about how much profit our family was making, so I decided not to take a share of their money and just helped with the paperwork.”
“I think that our children will probably be enrolled for free. Even if they do pay, it will be like last year's activity, where two or three people pay, or five people attend together, and they will also receive some gifts.”
Ke Meiyu nodded. "Actually, it's good that you think this way. Our family isn't short of money, so there's no need for us to get involved in so many businesses, no matter how close we are."
“If they are short of money, we can lend them some; if they need help, we can lend a hand. But if money gets too involved, it can easily lead to conflicts.”
Ying Yan pulled her into her arms and said with a smile, "You're a mother now, after all; you know how to conduct yourself properly."
Ke Meiyu couldn't help but nudge him with her elbow. "What do you mean? When have I ever been unreliable?"
Looking at her beautiful smiling face, Ying Yan couldn't help but ask, "Yu'er, if I'm hiding something from you, will you get angry and leave me?"
Ke Meiyu glared at him, "Did you do something wrong?"
"Let me tell you, even though you've been so good to me, and I've given you five children, if you make a fundamental mistake, well, I'll..."
Ying Yan silenced her with a kiss, giving her a light, angry bite. "You know I hate hearing you say things like that. You're the only one in my eyes. There's no room for any other woman, and I don't gamble, drink, or womanize."
"What is that?" Ke Meiyu asked curiously. "Ever since I had the baby, I've felt you've been acting strange, always seeming to have something to say to me. I've been waiting for this, and now you're testing me with these words, hmph, it must be something big!"
"I'm not going to be a fool for being love-struck and dig myself into a hole only to then not get angry."
"Let me tell you what it is about first."
Ying Yan pursed his lips tightly. "I remember you still owe me a favor."
Ke Meiyu was taken aback. "These are all old, forgotten stories. Can we really move on from them?"
“No matter how old it is, it’s still owed. Do you want to renege on your debt?” Ying Yan asked, raising an eyebrow.
"The more you talk, the less confident I become. You've brought this up; who knows if you were setting a trap for me back then!" Ke Meiyu accused.
Ying Yan sighed softly and held her tightly. "Yu'er, I have only one wish in all my lifetimes: to grow old with you."
Caught off guard by the confession, Ke Meiyu was delighted, her cheeks flushed. "Sweet words won't work. I'm telling you, you'd better confess sooner rather than later, otherwise the longer it drags on, the more serious things will get!"
"Quickly, quickly, confess and you'll be treated leniently, resist and you'll be punished severely!" She turned around, pushed him away, and said sternly.
The thing that could make Ying Yan hesitate so much must be quite significant; she was both afraid and slightly excited.
He knew he would have to explain sooner or later, and Ying Yan didn't want any estrangement or secrets between them. So he first sensed his surroundings. They had just finished eating, the children were playing obediently downstairs, and the adults were leisurely doing their own things.
A crosstalk performance was playing on TV, and no one came up to disturb the young couple.
“Taro, it’s me, Ying Yan!” he said solemnly, gritting his teeth.
“Yes, I know,” Ke Meiyu nodded.
“I,” he said quickly, mustering his courage again, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, “I am Ying Yan, who came from the apocalypse with you. Since you left, I have been leading a team to kill zombies day and night. After humanity conquered the zombie virus, I also collected all the capable people and extraordinary individuals.”
“Let them send us here to start over. I know you don’t like me, so I never intended to mess with you. Even just watching you from afar, as long as you’re alive and happy, I’ll be content!”
“I’m sorry, ever since you came to me and wanted to marry me, I couldn’t control myself. I wanted to occupy an important place in your heart more and more, so after I fell into a coma that time, I pretended to have amnesia and took off my disguise to continue being Ying Yan in this world.”
"Taro, I don't want to lie to you. I just want to love you and protect you in the way you like."
After saying all this, Ying Yan felt a huge weight lift from his heart, and he was just waiting for the final verdict.
He didn't dare look at her. The tall man, over six feet tall, nervously glanced at the ground, his whole body filled with unease, and his hands unconsciously gripped the seams of his trousers.
It can be said that ever since he was recognized by the Ying family in his previous life and realized that he had no one to rely on, he has never had such feelings or actions again.
Ke Meiyu was taken aback, her eyes lowered to conceal all her emotions.
She was somewhat surprised to hear these words, but deep down she felt a certainty that it was indeed true.
Yes, how many coincidences are there in the world? Most of them are deliberately orchestrated by someone with ulterior motives. She always easily reveals her past self in front of him. Their habits are so deeply ingrained that it's hard to notice unless you're being very deliberate.
