Chapter 34 Don’t Do Things That Make You Regret

Wen Hangxing watched coldly as Lin Yitang skipped over him alone to greet the other two, and then walked away neatly.

Wen Hangxing snorted coldly, and put aside his previous appearance of being unable to take care of himself when Lin Yitang was around. He made his bed flat, covered himself with the quilt, and stopped talking.

"Hangxing?" Jiang Sui shouted, "You..."

Wen Hangxing interrupted, "It's time for a nap, you two should go too."

"Okay, then we'll get busy first." Yan Junqi grabbed Jiang Sui who was about to say something else and shook his head to stop him from speaking.

Yan Junqi put his arm around Jiang Sui's shoulder and walked out. The two looked at each other in silence along the way.

When they reached a small path next to the hospital where few people passed by, Yan Junqi stopped but did not speak for a long time.

Jiang Sui said: "Just say whatever you want to say."

Yan Junqi looked him straight in the eye and didn't get to the point. Instead, he slowly said, "We've known each other for over ten years, and we know each other inside and out. I remember when I was young and naive, I used to be jealous of Wen Hangxing, so I often provoked him. But do you know why I didn't do that?"

Jiang Sui only knew that Yan Junqi and Wen Hangxing were sworn enemies who became brothers, but both of them avoided talking about the past, and there was doubt in his eyes.

"Wen Hangxing's grades surpassed mine again. I was so angry that I decided to teach him a lesson. To find a convenient place to do it, I followed him all the way to his house. At first, I didn't understand why Wen Hangxing didn't look so happy despite getting first place. But," Yan Junqi still feels a little sad when he thinks back on that scene, "I hid outside the Wen family's gate and saw Uncle Wen walk straight past Hangxing, who was staring at him expectantly, as if he hadn't seen him. His expression was so calm, as if Hangxing didn't exist as he passed by the child who opened his mouth to call out to him. Wen Hangxing stood there, the light in his eyes slowly dimming, and eventually his expression became numb."

Yan Junqi continued, "It was then that I understood why he wasn't even a little excited despite his success. It was because the very person in that family he most wanted to be praised for turned a blind eye to him."

Young Yan Junqi had a harmonious and happy family, although it had some flaws, so he thought that all parents in the world would pay attention to their children's emotions at the first time. But later he gradually discovered that there really are parents in this world who are emotionally indifferent to their children.

"From that day on, I secretly vowed not to oppose Wen Hangxing anymore. Now that I think about it, it was actually because I admired him but was also dissatisfied with his neglect of me."

Yan Junqi placed his hand on the silent Jiang Sui's shoulder, his face showing a rare seriousness. "Ah Sui, you are so scheming, you must understand how important she is to him. I don't want you two to end up as strangers. Don't make a mistake that will make you regret it for the rest of your life."

Jiang Sui raised his head, his eyes slightly red, his voice as hoarse as a rusty part, "What about me? Don't you know what kind of life I'm living? Don't I deserve warmth?"

Yan Junqi thought of his current situation and couldn't say anything more serious. He rubbed his hair angrily, "You... I'm just reminding you not to use tricks to get people to divorce. As for if you want to contact her, then go ahead. No one's stopping you." At the end, his voice lowered, "Just don't make Hangxing sad."

Jiang Sui understood what he meant and said loudly: "Of course I know!"

The redness in his eyes had not yet faded, and Jiang Sui looked pitiful at the moment.

Yan Junqi was shocked, "Don't you want Aunt Lin to divorce you?"

Jiang Sui said as a matter of course: "If she is happy, I certainly won't ruin it."

Yan Junqi: You've thought about love, right? Jiang Sui, you're a yandere disguised as a polite person.

"Then," Yan Junqi licked his lips and asked nervously: "How do you feel about Aunt Lin?" He almost asked you directly if you like her, but he just couldn't bring himself to ask.

Jiang Sui's face turned red. Yan Junqi was secretly shocked when he saw his expression: No way, no way, is it really what he thinks?

"She's very special to me, like an elder. I really want to be close to her and have contact with her."

Yan Junqi: "..." Elders are elders, why are you blushing? It almost gave me a heart attack.

But when Yan Junqi heard this, he felt relieved. He had thought it was something else. If it really was like that, what would happen? Not to mention the one on the business trip, would the one lying in the hospital agree?

Yan Junqi felt relieved, realizing that he had solved a potential problem. Just as he was about to put his arm around Jiang Sui's shoulder, he was avoided.

Yan Junqi: ??? Are we brothers now?

Jiang Sui slowly realized Yan Junqi's thoughts and warned him speechlessly, "Show her some respect."

Yan Junqi: "How am I disrespectful?" Facing Jiang Sui's eyes that seemed to see through everything, Yan Junqi reflected that he really didn't treat Lin Yitang as an elder. He sighed and said, "I'll try my best."

Wen Hangxing kept thinking about Lin Yitang's leaving figure and he couldn't fall asleep at all.

Was she angry? It was all his fault for not being able to speak well. What could he do now? But he had never apologized to anyone in his life, so he couldn't bring himself to say it.

The more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt. Wen Hangxing sat up with an agitated look on his face, reached out and pressed a button beside him. After a while, a person dressed as a nurse hurried over.

"Master Wen, do you have any instructions?" the nurse asked cautiously, knowing that the young man in front of her was of great importance.

In front of outsiders, Wen Hangxing regained his distant and cold expression, "Where is Li Jiaran?"

On the first day of taking over Wen Hangxing's care, the nurse was told that any request made by this young master must be met, so she immediately said, "Are you talking about the girl who was brought in with you? She's next to you, but her injuries are too severe and she can only move around in bed. Do you need me to push you over?"
