Chapter 60 Clingy

"I'm going upstairs. You guys can make noise here by yourselves and don't knock things over." Lin Yitang yawned. After a full meal, she was a little sleepy.

After Lin Yitang went upstairs, Jiang Sui and Wen Hangxing always felt that something was missing and soon felt bored.

Wen Hangxing glanced at the time and shook his head at Jiang Sui, "It's still early, let's go up and play a few games."

Jiang Suiying said: "Okay, let's call Jun Qi along."

Wen Hangxing refused: "Let's fight one-on-one."

Jiang Sui: "...Okay." I knew you wouldn't let me go easily. You're still angry, what should I do? Jiang Sui thought worriedly.

As soon as the host left, the living room returned to its former tranquility. The housekeeper walked out of the living room slowly, sighing: "It's so late, I have to rest my old bones."

Wen Zeli was stuck with some work today and had to have dinner with a partner in the evening. After three rounds of drinks, he felt a little tipsy, so he said to the partner across from him: "Mr. Huang, it's getting late, I have to excuse myself first."

The partner's face flushed from drinking, and he tried to persuade him to stay: "Mr. Wen, why are you leaving so early? We still have that event later." He smiled and squinted his eyes, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth that looked a little greasy.

Wen Zeli smiled faintly, "My wife is very strict at home, and it's getting late. I'll let Wang Sheng accompany you."

Although Mr. Huang was drunk, he was also a man who knew the current situation. Otherwise, how could he become a partner with the Wen Group? He did not force it any further. "Since your wife has a request, then Mr. Wen should go back first."

Wen Zeli nodded at him, gave some instructions to Secretary Wang and was about to leave. Secretary Wang looked at his boss's tall back with resentment behind him, drooped his shoulders, and moved step by step towards his seat. Today was another day of working for the evil capitalists.

It was almost twelve o'clock. Wen Zeli walked into the house from the living room. The house was quiet, with only a faint light flickering in the dark. The housekeeper who usually appeared when he heard any noise was nowhere to be seen.

Wen Zeli lowered the corners of his eyes, feeling a little thirsty. He unbuttoned two buttons and rolled up his sleeves, revealing his smooth, muscular elbows.

Lin Yitong went to bed early, but because he ate too much dessert in the afternoon, he sat up in the middle of the night because he was thirsty. He stayed awake for a while in bed and planned to go downstairs to get some water to drink.

When she walked to the entrance, she found that the lights on the first floor were on and saw a suit jacket draped over the sofa. As she walked in, she smelled a strong smell of alcohol. Lin Yitong's position was facing the kitchen, and she looked at Wen Zeli who was holding a cup.

"Are you still asleep?" Wen Zeli asked first.

"No, I woke up because I was thirsty. I came down to get some water to drink." Lin Yitong replied, and then saw Wen Zeli turn around and go into the kitchen again. After a while, a glass of water was placed in front of her.

"Thank you." Lin Yitang held the cup in her palm. As the distance between them got closer, the smell of alcohol became stronger. She asked, "How much did you drink?"

Wen Zeli pressed his forehead and said, "I can't remember clearly. I met a partner today and had a few more drinks."

Seeing that he looked a little uncomfortable, Lin Yitang reminded him: "Go drink some hangover soup, otherwise you will feel uncomfortable later."

Wen Zeli must have drunk a lot tonight. His originally gentle temperament disappeared, and his eyes became dark as if covered with a layer of mist, making it difficult to see his emotions. There was a hint of red at the corners of his eyes, making him look like a cruel and ruthless monster hiding in the depths of darkness. Just one glance could make the person he targeted unable to move.

Wen Zeli widened his eyes slightly, and his narrow peach blossom eyes rounded a little, "But I don't know how, and the housekeeper hasn't prepared anything." There seemed to be a hint of grievance in his words.

He looked a bit naive, as if the strong sense of aggression was just Lin Yitang's illusion. Lin Yitang breathed a sigh of relief, hesitated for a moment and said, "I'll do it for you."

"Really? Thank you, ma'am." Wen Zeli smiled and said happily.

Lin Yitang gritted his teeth and said with a fake smile: "You're welcome." I'm so angry, you annoying big-tailed wolf, I'm beginning to suspect that you were deliberately scaring me just now.

Lin Yitang was wearing an apron and stirring the pot with a spoon, trying hard to ignore the very strong gaze behind her. Wen Zeli had been sitting on the sofa in the living room staring at her since a while ago. When she turned around and looked at him with an unfriendly look, he was still smiling at her!

Lin Yitang had never felt so aggrieved before. He angrily stirred the sobering soup in the pot with more strength, turned off the fire in one go, and served the soup to Wen Zeli.

"Drink." Lin Yitang said concisely without any hesitation. She seemed to have finally understood the true meaning of life. Sometimes people cannot be soft-hearted, because some troubles are difficult to get out of once they are caused.

Lin Yitang purposely took the largest bowl and filled it full for Wen Zeli, a night of sobering soup. She watched Wen Zeli sip from a bowl much larger than her own hand. Damn, Lin Yitang's expression was as unsympathetic as the stone lions that had stood in front of the door for years, cement-like. I actually find Wen Zeli endearing. It must be because he wasn't in a comfortable bed in the middle of the night, but was forced to do hard labor, that he was hallucinating.

Lin Yitang was in great pain, no less than Assistant Wang, who was currently dealing with partners on behalf of his company's president who had left early. Although the two had only met a few times, they felt the same way. What did I do wrong to deserve this kind of suffering?

"Tangtang," Wen Zeli raised his head and waved the empty bowl in his hand towards Lin Yitang, "I'm done."

Lin Yitang replied indifferently: "Oh, go wash the dishes."

Wen Zeli dragged his feet and refused to leave. Lin Yitang was shocked. "You don't want me to wash the dishes for you, do you?!"

"No, no, no," Wen Zeli said with hope in his eyes, "Can you wait for me to wash the dishes and go upstairs together?"

Lin Yitang no longer had any doubts. She felt that Wen Zeli would not be like this under normal circumstances. He must be drunk. Lin Yitang thought that she had finally opened her eyes tonight. Why was this guy so clingy when he was drunk?

"Okay?" Wen Zeli didn't get her reply, so he asked again, his eyes shining as if all the stars in the night were included in his vision.

"Okay, okay, go ahead!" Lin Yitang stretched out a finger to push away his head that was about to touch her collarbone, and agreed in a compromising manner.

The dim light cast down from above, making Lin Yitang's eyebrows and eyes look very soft. She supported her chin with her hand to offset some of the sleepiness, but it was still no use. Lin Yitang thought, she would just close her eyes for a short while and wait for Wen Zeli to come out and call her.

Wen Zeli came out of the kitchen and saw this scene. His originally hazy eyes instantly became clear. He did not wake her up. He put one hand under Lin Yitang's knees and held her shoulders with the other. With a little effort, he easily picked her up. He looked at Lin Yitang's peaceful eyebrows, his expression gentle and full of pity. He kissed her forehead lightly and murmured: "Good night, little darling."
