Chapter 522 No Motivation

After listening to it, he even commented, "This kid is my descendant, and he inherited my good genes."

Yan Rushan, who came out from the main room: ...

Yan Rushan walked to Yuxiu, took the dishes from her hand and went back to the main room; Gu Lingguo and Fang Guozhong followed closely behind. Yan Rushan put the things down and went to accompany his wife and grandfather, while Gu Lingguo and Fang Guozhong went to the kitchen to continue helping to set the table.

"Grandpa, you can go eat now. You haven't washed your hands yet." Yan Rushan reminded.

Yan Guofeng glanced at him and smiled, "I'll go right away, okay? You guys keep an eye on the children and don't let them climb out. The mattress is very damp outside and there's no one around. The children have delicate skin and bones, so don't hurt them."

"I know. Go quickly." Yan Rushan turned back a child who wanted to crawl out and said to the old man, "Today I saw Feng Zheng make Kung Pao Chicken. It's boneless. You might like it."

Yan Guofeng chuckled, shook his head, stood up and left.

Yan Rushan simply pulled his two sons from the mattress and held them in his arms, "Wife, you take the other one and put him in the main room first. I'll collect the mattress and put it on the main room bed so they can continue playing."

"Okay." Zhong Yuxiu nodded in agreement and walked towards the main room holding one of her sons; Yan Rushan followed closely behind, but he held one son in each hand. After entering, he put his sons directly on the ground and asked his wife to watch them. He turned and left the main room and went to the yard to collect the mattress.

Finding a place to spread out in the corner of the main room, Yan Rushan breathed a sigh of relief and threw the mattress one by one.

Zhong Yuxiu shook her head and chuckled. This man seemed impatient, but when he threw his son, he walked to the mattress on purpose; he half-bent over as he threw him, as if he was afraid of hurting him. It was a bit cute.

“Ah…”

The cubs crawled on the ground, looked up at Yan Rushan, and then turned to look at Zhong Yuxiu.

"Mom."

"Mom."

"Mom."

"Hold me." Li Ji stretched out his hand and reached out for a hug under Yan Rushan's dark face.

Yan Rushan glanced at them, turned around, and walked back to his wife. He took her hand and led her to a chair. In the center of the main hall were tables and chairs for entertaining guests. To the left was a spacious dining area where the dining table was placed. The couple sat there and waited for the old man to come over before taking a seat together.

When Yan Guofeng returned, he immediately went to look for his great-grandsons. He looked around and finally found them on a mattress in a spacious corner on the right. Then he looked at his eldest grandson and his wife and suddenly felt that they were too leisurely. Their son ignored them, while they were just beside him, looking affectionately at each other.

Heavy fog!

Where did the affection come from? They were just talking and looking at each other.

"You two are so leisurely!"

"Grandpa." Zhong Yuxiu pursed her lips and chuckled. Yan Rushan also called out, "You're here. It's just in time. We can have dinner once Comrade Gu and the others arrive."

Yan Guofeng glanced at them again, waved to them, and walked towards his great-grandchildren.

"The Book of Rites, the Book of Rites is clear, the Book of Rites is true."

"Ah?" Li Zhen turned his head and looked at him.

Li Ming heard the call and turned to look at him, then shouted, "Grandpa."

"Grandpa." Li Ji called out, making Yan Guofeng so happy that his teeth were not visible. He walked up to hug his great-grandchildren and kissed them several times in turn. He stopped only when the children were impatient with kisses. "You are really a good grandson of great-grandfather. Much more obedient than your father."

As for his eldest grandson's wife, he didn't think there was anything wrong with her; even if there was something wrong, it must be the eldest grandson's fault.

"Grandpa."

Li Zhen was not willing to be outdone. He shouted along with his brothers and hugged his neck. He imitated the old man and kissed him on the face, a very loud kiss.

"Grandma." She called out again after the kiss.

"Hey, my dear great-grandson, your love for me is not in vain." The old man laughed heartily and simply sat on the mattress, rolling around with the three children in his arms, without any of the idol baggage of a founding veteran. "Grandpa won't go out tomorrow and will stay home to play with you, okay?"

Li Ming, Li Zhen and Li Ji didn't understand what was going on, but when they saw the old man was happy, they grinned and nodded seriously. If people didn't know that they didn't understand, they would have thought that they really understood what he meant.

The old man was even happier. He couldn't help it. His love for his great-grandchildren was unwavering! From birth, they'd been cherished by the depths of his heart. They were growing up, getting better and better. He felt incredibly close to the children he'd raised, and incredibly proud of them. Only those with children could truly understand this feeling. Raising children was a joy, and while it was tiring, watching them grow day by day was a source of immense pride and joy. It was truly captivating.

"Look how happy grandpa is." Zhong Yuxiu shook her head and chuckled. Having children at home really makes it much more lively; without children, the home always lacks some laughter and joy.

Yan Rushan had no deep understanding of this, and he always had a stern face. It was okay with people close to him; when outsiders saw him, they would mostly come to greet him and then stay away. Over time, he got used to the quietness.

"Brother Yan, tell me, is it right or wrong to let grandpa go out for a walk? Why do I feel that grandpa doesn't like to go out to play? Is it because the roads are difficult to travel on, or because the city is not developed?" She had to think more about these questions.

At least grandpa doesn't look so bored when he is at home. He has his great-grandchildren to accompany him every day and they chat together, which is very happy. On the contrary, after he goes out, he often looks bored and has no enthusiasm to go out and play.

"Let's wait and see. If grandpa is still like this in the next province, we can ask him for his opinion. If he doesn't want to go out and play, we can go home. There's no need to waste time." Yan Rushan said this and it was obvious that he was a straight man. In his heart, work is important, and of course his wife is more important.

Zhong Yuxiu didn't object to this. "That's right. My research has hit a bottleneck, and I don't know when I can produce any results."

"Hasn't your research yielded results?" Yan Rushan asked.

"No, I have several projects on hand." Yuxiu sighed helplessly, "I've already prepared the materials, but unfortunately, the materials I need now are not enough. I still need to research materials that can be used. The newly made protective shield is made of new materials."

Yan Rushan seemed to be thinking, "The protective shield is really good. We wear it every day, and our lives are more protected."

"That's not so bad. Actually, there are better materials that haven't been researched yet." This is what she regrets. If they could be researched, perhaps the combat uniforms would be found. "Now we're stuck at this bottleneck."

"Take it slow. It's due to material limitations and inadequate technology." Faced with such a situation, we can either change our mindset and research other materials as substitutes, or be patient and take it step by step. There are no shortcuts.

Zhong Yuxiu agreed very much, this is the only way!
