Chapter 165 Waiting for me to think of a suitable chapter title

Looking at Pei Sheng, who had been shot and was bleeding from his abdomen, Lu An'an suddenly turned her head, her gaze sweeping across the empty table before finally settling on the two policemen next to Berlans.

The two policemen, their hat brims almost covering half their faces, seemed to suddenly realize what was happening after Berlans fired the shot, and swiftly and violently subdued him.

Berlans was firmly pinned to the ground, without the slightest struggle or hysterical screams, appearing completely resigned to his fate.

A barely perceptible chill flashed in Lu An'an's eyes. She quickly looked away and focused on treating Fu Zhiyan's wounds. At the same time, she casually asked Qi Rang a question, almost to herself: "Berlans's gun was on the table. Berlans wasn't even close to the table. How did he get it?"

Qi Rang suddenly snapped out of his daze and instantly understood Lu An'an's unspoken meaning. His gaze sharpened as he stared at the two policemen, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Just as he took a step, the person to Berlans's left suddenly made a move!

He pulled something from his pocket, raised it high, and then hurled it hard to the ground. Instantly, smoke billowed up, blurring the surrounding vision.

Qi Rang's expression hardened, and he reflexively drew his pistol, aiming it steadily at Berlans's location. "Crouch down!"

As the smoke cleared, only one of the two men beside Berlans remained, pointing a gun at him; the other had vanished.

The thug, his face contorted in a ferocious grimace, roared hysterically, "Get back, all of you! Or I'll kill him right now!"

Qi Rang's eyes were as cold as ice. He slowly waved his hand, signaling the police behind him to take a step back. His voice was icy: "Don't be impulsive. There are police all over here. You can't escape. We can talk and find a solution that is good for both of us."

The thugs ignored Qi Rang's words and kept shouting for everyone to back off.

Standing in the corner, carefully protecting Fu Zhiyan, Lu An'an exchanged a glance with Xiao Ningning without making a sound. Then, with Lu Yanli and Gu Tingyan by her side, she helped Fu Zhiyan take a step back, giving her senior sister room to show her skills.

Xiao Ningning quietly pulled out a talisman from her sleeve and threw it out. The talisman instantly turned into a stream of light and silently stuck to the thug who was holding Berlans hostage.

Seeing Fu hidden behind the thugs, Xiao Ningning slowly opened her lips and uttered a single word: "Settle."

As soon as the shout fell, the thug who had been hysterically yelling for the police to back off froze instantly, as if he had been nailed down by an invisible force and could not move.

"Who?! Damn it! Why can't I move?!"

Qi Rang and the police behind him did not see the talisman that Xiao Ningning flew out. They only saw the criminal who was shouting for them to get out or he would kill the hostage suddenly frozen in place.

They stared blankly at the scene, unsure whether to cooperate or not.

Lu An'an glanced at the somewhat bewildered police officers and sighed inwardly. She could only temporarily entrust Fu Zhiyan to Lu Yanli, who was standing to the side. Then, she strode forward and approached the immobilized criminal.

Qi Rang was startled and hurriedly called out, "An'an, danger..."

Before she could finish speaking, she strode up to the assailant with clean, swift movements, and deftly snatched the gun from his stiff hand. With a gentle push, the assailant fell headfirst to the ground like a puppet, dragging the stunned Berlans down with him.

Facing the astonished looks from Qi Rang and the surrounding police officers, Lu An'an shrugged and began to spout nonsense: "He really can't move. Captain Qi, you know, Xiao Ningning is my senior sister, so it's normal that she has the ability to freeze people from a distance, right?"

Qi Rang snapped out of his daze at the sudden absurdity, his gaze falling on Lu An'an's sincere expression. He finally nodded with a complicated expression, accepting the explanation, "Okay, fine, I understand. Let's do it this way."

Lu An'an nodded in satisfaction.

[Hmm, getting it!]

Beside him, Pei Sheng, leaning against the door frame, hunched over and on the verge of fainting from blood loss, managed to glance at Xiao Ningning, who had a calm expression on her face, before quickly lowering his eyes to hide the seriousness in them. He said weakly, "Can...can you...save me first...I feel like I'm about to...about to die."

Upon hearing this, everyone's attention shifted back to Pei Sheng.

Qi Rang frowned and asked his subordinate, "Where's the ambulance? Hasn't it arrived yet?"

The subordinate quickly inquired via walkie-talkie and then reported: "Captain, we've arrived. Medical staff are carrying a stretcher and are on their way. They'll be here soon."

Qi Rang looked troubled and turned to Lu An'an, "An'an, look at this..."

Lu An'an closed her eyes briefly, took out a bottle of hemostatic powder from her pocket with an indifferent expression, walked up to Pei Sheng, paused for a moment, and handed the hemostatic powder to Qi Rang: "Here, this is for stopping bleeding, just sprinkle it on."

【You're lucky to be alive, kid. If I hadn't sworn an oath as a medical student, I would have sprinkled some medicine on you to make your bleeding go on forever and you would have bled to death!】

She glanced back at Pei Sheng, a slight smile playing on her lips.

[Hehe, but I gave him my original version of hemostatic powder, without a single numbing herb mixed in. Sprinkling it on him will really hurt him to death, hahaha!]

Upon hearing this, Lu Yanli raised an eyebrow and glanced at Pei Sheng, whose face had grown even paler after Qi Rang mercilessly sprinkled hemostatic powder on him. He clicked his tongue inwardly.

Tsk, my sister was right before, they are just too moral.
