Chapter 4 The Long Road Ahead

Wen Nan loosened his grip, and the embroiderer fell into the icy lake with a splash. She drank a few mouthfuls of icy water, causing splashes on the lake's surface.

The embroiderer was wearing a thick coat that had absorbed water. She struggled on the lake like a swallow taking flight, but she still sank.

Yuanlang cried even harder. Aunt Zhao was trembling with anger.

Wen Nan tilted his head slightly. "I'm sorry, my hand was shaking. I didn't mean to throw the embroiderer into the water."

However, none of the people present were children, and they immediately understood that Wen Nan was actually thrown into the lake by the embroiderer.

The embroiderer was the best woman in their village, and they were all stunned.

Aunt Zhao held Yuanlang in her arms and cried out, "Village chief, please save my embroiderer!"

A group of villagers, in a chaotic frenzy, grabbed bamboo poles and rowed small boats to try and rescue people from the frozen lake.

Wen Nan's gaze was fixed on Lu Yanqing.

[Target: Lu Yanqing!] An excited voice reached Wen Nan's ears, and a red arrow symbol appeared in front of Wen Nan's eyes, pointing to Lu Yanqing.

When Lu Yanqing met Wen Nan's gaze, he turned his face away, not looking at the people scattered in the lake, nor asking Wen Nan any further questions.

The reason why the original owner got drunk was simply because she went to Chunfeng Tower to see the young master. The original owner was very bothered by Lu Yanqing, who was a crippled son-in-law.

The clothes Lu Yanqing was wearing gave a glimpse into his character. The original owner of this body loathed Lu Yanqing and subjected him to all sorts of insults and humiliations.

She... has come this far, though the journey has been long.

A smile appeared on Wen Nan's face for a second. She stepped forward and looked at Lu Yanqing pitifully, saying, "Husband, I'm cold."

859 looked at its host's completely different face, who could calmly throw people into the lake just a moment ago, but could act cute and charming in the blink of an eye.

Tsk tsk tsk, he chose the right person!

Lu Yanqing was slightly taken aback. He had never heard Wen Nan utter those two words before. Wasn't she the one who hated him the most?

What's wrong with her now? What method is she trying to use to humiliate herself?

Wen Nan was dressed in thin clothes. The original owner of this body preferred to prioritize style over warmth, dressed like a peacock spreading its tail feathers, and went out drinking in the cold winter.

Go find the young master again...

Just as Wen Nan thought the road ahead was long and arduous, Lu Yanqing reached out and untied his cloak. His face was expressionless as he looked at Wen Nan's trembling appearance, but in the end, he still handed the cloak to Wen Nan.

But... at that very moment, Lu Yanqing regretted it. Wen Nan was eccentric and considered herself noble. She wouldn't accept his cloak; she might even throw it on the ground and stomp on it.

While stomping on the clothes, she cursed, "What kind of lousy clothes do you dare to give to this young lady?"

Lu Yanqing handed out the clothes, but no one took them for a long time, and the expected insults did not come.

Wen Nan's eyes were slightly red, and his nose was also red from the cold. He huddled up in a ball, his arms wrapped around his body, rubbing them together to warm himself.

"Husband, would you please put this on for me?" Wen Nan looked at Lu Yanqing with innocent eyes, seemingly waiting for Lu Yanqing's next move.

Lu Yanqing's hand visibly froze. The young man's jade-like face lifted up, his eyes revealing a strange quality, and even the beauty mark at the corner of his eye slightly slanted upwards.

What method is she thinking of now... to humiliate herself?

She had never spoken to him so kindly before; it was always... "Crippled man, do this and that to this young lady..."
