Chapter 41 Rescue

Aunt Chun asked someone to go to the village to invite someone, but it turned out that the village chef had gone to another village to be the chef.

This made Aunt Chun very anxious, and Xia Tian was also anxious.

Unable to bear it any longer, he walked over, pulled Aunt Chun aside, and asked quietly, "Aunt Chun, are you sure the chef won't be coming?"

"Well, someone was sent to inform you just now!" Aunt Chun's face was so gloomy that water seemed to drip out of it.

He originally wanted to hold a grand wedding for his grandson so that his grandson's wife's family could see it and give his grandson face, but he ended up making such a big fool of himself.

"Have you hired other chefs?"

"No, the village chef went to another village. I heard there was a wedding there too."

"Then Aunt Chun, would you let me try?"

"You?" Aunt Chun was surprised.

"Well, my cooking tastes pretty good. How about I fry a dish for you to try?"

Aunt Chun hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and said, "Okay, you try."

We can only try our best to save the situation.

Xia Tian quickly heated up the oil in a pan and made some braised meatballs. He served them to Aunt Chun and the people around her to taste. Everyone nodded in agreement, saying they were delicious.

Aunt Chun's gloomy mood was swept away. "I didn't expect that your cooking skills are as good as those of the restaurant chef. I'll give you a big red envelope when you're done."

"Then I'll be waiting." Xia Tian also joked with a smile.

Aunt Chun had naturally eaten the dishes cooked by the restaurant chef. She just tried the dishes made by Xia Tian and felt that they tasted better than those made by the restaurant chef.

With the host's call, "The auspicious time has arrived, let's start the feast!"

In the summer, we also started to cook according to the set menu.

When people in this village have a banquet, they basically use the stove built in the yard because the amount of dishes served is so large that the kitchen cannot be fully utilized.

It was the same at Aunt Chun's house, with two large stoves set up near the south wall.

There was a long row of tables in front of the stove. The kitchen helpers saw Xia Tian standing in front of the stove, waving a large iron spoon used for cooking. Two stoves were frying at the same time. He looked very skilled, as if he had done it more than a hundred times.

As she took the wok out, heated the oil, stir-fried the food, took the food out of the wok, put it on a plate, washed the wok, and heated the oil again, the kitchen helpers were stunned by her smooth movements.

Xia Tian didn't have time to know what others were thinking. Aunt Chun's family was having a buffet today, with twenty tables set to eat at the same time. If two stoves weren't cooking at the same time, they were afraid they wouldn't be able to keep up the speed. If she wasn't so strong now, she probably wouldn't even be able to swing the cooking spoon.

Soon, the dishes were served on the table.

After tasting the food, everyone exclaimed that the chef of this restaurant is different. The food he made is much better than that of the chef hired by the village.

Many people didn't know that the chef had changed today.

Listening to everyone's praise for today's food and wine, Aunt Chun finally felt relieved and managed to save face in front of her in-laws.

If it weren't for Xia Yatou's rescue today, this person in her family would have been in big trouble.

After the two rounds of banquets at noon, Xia Tian finally had time to sit down and catch her breath. She was exhausted from waving the big iron spoon for two hours straight.

Fortunately, she had spiritual spring water to replenish her energy, otherwise she probably wouldn't be able to lift her arm.

Being the chef of this banquet is not a job that ordinary people can do.

After a short rest, she skillfully cooked for two tables. Now only a few people from the host family and the kitchen helpers had not eaten yet.

After she sat down to eat, she remembered that she was the guest chef today and forgot that there were two people at home who had not eaten yet!

Xia Tian stood up, said something to Aunt Chun, and prepared to go back. Aunt Chun pushed her down to her seat and said, "Don't worry, eat. I'll arrange for someone to send some food and wine to your family."

She didn't expect Aunt Chun to be so thoughtful. She sat down again and thanked her, "Thank you, Aunt Chun."

"I should thank you today! If it weren't for you, your Aunt Chun would have been embarrassed today." Aunt Chun patted her hands gratefully.

"It's because Aunt Chun believes in me, otherwise I wouldn't dare to go on stage." Xia Tian smiled and blinked.

"No need to say thank you, this glass of wine is for you!" Aunt Chun said solemnly while holding the wine glass.

Seeing Aunt Chun's solemn expression, she quickly picked up the wine glass and said, "Oh, no need to be polite, I'll drink it." She raised her head and drank it all in one gulp.

"This girl!" Aunt Chun scolded her and drank the wine in the glass in one gulp.

After finishing the meal, Xia Tian prepared to go back with Sister Yao. Aunt Chun walked her to the door and took out a purse from her bosom and stuffed it into her hand. "This is a red envelope from Aunt Chun to thank you. You can't refuse it."

"Okay, I must share in this joy. Thank you, Aunt Chun." Xia Tian took the purse with a smile and shook it towards Aunt Chun.

"Then go back. I'll talk to you when I'm free."

"Hey! Let's go, auntie." She waved to Auntie Chun and quickly took Auntie Yao's hand and walked home.

"I didn't expect you to have such skills. No wonder you can do business. Just based on your cooking skills, you can be a chef in a restaurant." Mrs. Yao sighed while holding Xia Tian's arm.

"Oh! Sister-in-law is too kind."

"Don't be modest. Although I haven't tasted the dishes made by the restaurant chef, I have tasted the dishes made by the village chef, and they are far inferior to yours."

"Really? Then wouldn't I be stealing someone's job?" Xia Tian responded jokingly.

What she didn't know was that the skill she showed at Aunt Chun's house today really made her an instant hit, and she didn't know how many chefs hated her.

Of course, this is a later story.

When she returned home, she was relieved to see that Shen Nian and Mu Feng had indeed eaten.

When Mu Feng heard that she was the guest chef today and saved the day, he gave her a thumbs up and said, "Sister-in-law is awesome!"
