Chapter 81 Your Highness, You Absolutely Must Not



Ye Lisheng flipped through the register in front of him with an icy expression. It contained the names of people who had been imprisoned for some offense.

Wang Wei asked tremblingly, "Your Highness, is there something wrong?"

With a "snap!" Ye Lisheng slammed the book shut, startling everyone.

Wang Wei, terrified, asked with a mournful face, "Your Highness, I know I was wrong!"

Where did you go wrong?

Wang Wei was so anxious that he scratched his head and was about to cry. After a long while, he finally managed to stammer out, "This...this humble one does not know. Please enlighten me, Your Highness!"

Ye Lisheng found it amusing, a mocking smile creeping onto his cold face: "I entered the Heavenly Prison this time with the infamy of murdering the young prince, and what are you all doing?"

Wang Wei and the other jailers exchanged bewildered glances. He mustered his courage and stammered, "Your...Your Highness...you want me to interrogate you!"

Ye Lisheng's dark eyes were full of certainty. When he nodded, Wang Wei's legs went weak with fear.

"Your Highness, you mustn't!"

The wind howled as it rushed into the prison, sounding exactly like the wailing of ghosts and wolves—it was utterly terrifying.

I accompanied Consort Mo to the imperial prison, hoping to see Ye Lisheng, but we were stopped at the gate by the jailers.

"How dare you! You even dare to stop me!" This was the first time I had ever seen Consort Mo so angry.

The jailer looked troubled and had no choice but to kneel before her and say, "Please, Your Majesty, do not make things difficult for me!"

"Sister, why make things difficult for a jailer!" Her voice was as melodious as a nightingale's song.

Turning her head, Su Wan'er was looking at him with a smug expression, her red cloak as striking as blood.

"What are you doing here?" Consort Mo asked.

A bewitching smile bloomed on her lips, as beautiful as a flower: "I heard that the Prince was in trouble, so I came to see him!"

Consort Mo smiled coldly and ignored her.
