Ye Xuanling remained silent, but I saw deep heartache in his eyes.
"Cough...cough...cough," several heart-wrenching coughs rang out, sounding so painful to hear.
We followed Yanran inside and saw the young child lying on a simple bed, the blanket covering him sewn shut again and again.

Yanran's eyes were red, and she held back her tears, which were about to spill over. She smiled and said, "Kang'er is such a good boy!"
"Sister, I'm sorry. Kang'er promised to always be with you, but I may have to break my promise!"
"Cough...cough..." He coughed again as he spoke, and finally coughed up a few drops of blood.
Seeing his pained expression, everyone's eyes welled up with tears.
"Kang'er, be good, it won't hurt if you fall asleep. How about I sing you a song?"
I only knew that Yanran's zither playing was beautiful, but I never imagined her singing was so melodious, like a nightingale emerging from a valley. Her songs were melodious and sweet, and Kang'er soon fell asleep.
