In the middle of the night, there was a knock on Han Fei's door.
Han Fei opened the door and saw Han Chengwu wearing a thin vest and boxer shorts, with his arms and legs exposed.
The child's skin was fair, but when it got cold, it turned red and purple.
Han Chengwu trembled, clutching a pillow, and looked up, tears welling in his eyes: "Grandpa, I'm scared..."
Tears streamed down her face, and once the floodgates were opened, they poured out like golden beans.
"Come inside first." Han Fei pulled the person inside and closed the door to block out the cold air.
Han Chengwu stood by the bed, his face flushed with embarrassment.
"You're not a little girl, what's with the awkwardness? Hurry up and get into bed and warm up under the covers!"
"Mmm." Han Chengwu nodded his little head vigorously and darted into the blanket.
Han Fei touched his little hand to make sure it was warm before asking, "Did you have a nightmare?"
"I dreamt that I was surrounded by a lot of strange aunties, and then I was dragged into a small room. In the dream, I grew up and became a big star, but I wasn't happy at all. I always played roles that I didn't like, and I was forced to do many, many things that I didn't like..."
"Grandpa, I'm so scared, I don't want to grow up."
"Do you still want to be an actor?"
Han Chengwu's eyes were red from crying: "It was my idea."
It's because he's afraid, yet he also wants to be an actor, that he's so conflicted and so sad.
Han Fei rubbed his head and smiled affectionately: "If you want to be an actor, then be an actor. No one can force you to play a role you don't want to play, and no one can force you to do something you don't like."
"Why?" Han Chengwu sniffed, his voice hoarse. "But in my dream I couldn't refuse. It was like I signed a contract, a contract that was like a servitude contract."
Upon hearing this, Han Fei narrowed his eyes.
Although Xiao Wu said it was a nightmare, Han Fei felt it was more like seeing the future described in the book in a dream.
"It would be better not to sign that kind of contract; it's just a dream."
"Is it really just a dream? It feels so real, I don't even think it's a dream, it's like something that will happen in the future."
Did you see Grandpa inside?
"No." Han Chengwu shook his head.
Han Fei chuckled: "If it doesn't even have Grandpa's future, how could it be real? It's just a dream."
"That's right! Without Grandpa, without older brothers and sisters, how could it be real! I want to be with you all forever; my future can't be without you!"
Xiao Wu wiped away his tears, revealing a relaxed smile. He yawned, indicating he was tired and sleepy from crying.
"Sleep here," Han Fei said gently.
Little Wu's face turned red: "Can I really sleep with Grandpa?"
"Go to sleep." Han Fei gently patted Xiao Wu's back until the little boy started snoring softly.
The next day, Xiao Wu arrived at the coffee shop next to the training classroom at 1 o'clock sharp.
"Xiao Wu, you're here! Come over here quickly."
The man wore black-rimmed glasses, a fisherman's hat, and a windbreaker. He had a DSLR camera hanging from his chest, a stubble beard, and many sunspots on his face.
Xiao Wu secretly glanced at another table, which was very close to the table where the man was sitting.
At this moment, Han Chengshan and his grandson Han Fei were sitting at that table.
They arrived at the coffee shop earlier than the man. During the visit, Han Chengshan spilled his coffee, so they changed seats once, deliberately moving to the table next to the man.
Because they arrived earlier than the man and were already in the coffee shop, the man didn't suspect anything and just treated them as strangers. He only glanced at Han Chengshan when he spilled his coffee, but didn't pay much attention to him.
Xiao Wu sat opposite the man. Because his grandfather and third brother were nearby, he relaxed a lot and became bolder: "Hello, talent scout uncle."
"What a polite and well-mannered child. Our company is missing out on a polite and well-mannered child like you."
Xiao Wu smiled shyly.
"Xiao Wu, did you go back and talk to your grandfather about it?"
"I already said that."
"Will your grandfather agree to let you act in movies?"
"I agreed."
The man curled his lips into a smirk, a sly smile of triumph flashing in his eyes.
He knew that children from poor families were the easiest to fool. While it might be a little harder to deceive young parents, this child's grandfather was an old man, making him even easier to fool.
"Since your grandfather has already agreed, then there's no problem with this matter. Let's go to the film set now to meet the director. If the director thinks you're okay, maybe we can film your scenes today, and then we can settle the payment after filming."
The man thought: Hearing that there would be money after filming, the poor kid would definitely agree without thinking!
Because people are poor, they desperately want to seize any opportunity to turn their lives around and become rich; there are countless examples of this.
He thus successfully deceived many people.
Just as he was full of confidence and ready to pay and leave, he heard the little boy say in a childish voice, "You haven't told me what I'm supposed to be acting in yet. Grandpa said I have to find out exactly what I'm supposed to be acting in and what lines I have to say before we can film it. If you make me play a bad guy, I won't do it."
The man frowned, surprised that the child's grandfather was quite shrewd.
But what's the use of being so clever if you're still foolish enough to let the child come alone?
Seeing that Han Chengwu came alone today, he knew that he would definitely be able to fool this child.
"You're playing the male lead's childhood self, and you only have five lines."
Which five lines?
"You'll have to ask the director. I don't have the script either. Besides, many lines that were originally set have been changed along the way."
Is the male lead a good person?
"Of course! Can a bad guy be the male lead?" the man retorted.
Han Chengwu nodded: "Then I'll go with you."
Han Chengshan leaned close to Han Fei's ear and whispered, "Grandpa, this guy is pretty good at fooling people. Should we let Xiao Wu continue with him to check out his hideout, or should we grab him outside the coffee shop?"
"There's no need to take the risk. If there are a lot of people on the set, we'll be like lambs to the slaughter."
"Then when Xiao Wu brings him to the place we agreed on, we'll rush over and grab him!"
Han Fei nodded.
Xiao Wu followed the man out of the coffee shop, but just as the man was hailing a taxi, Xiao Wu hurriedly ran away.
"Xiao Wu, where are you going?"
"Uncle, I need to pee!"
"The car will be here soon. Anyway, you're just a kid, so you can just relieve yourself against the wall."
"Huh?" Xiao Wu blushed. "Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
"No one will look into that alley. You should go quickly."
"But I'm scared, it's so dark there!"
"Fine, I'll go with you."
Before the man could even react, a sack had fallen from the sky and trapped him in the alley.
"What are you doing!"
"Let me go!"
Han Chengshan tied the burlap sack tightly, and his fists rained down on it like a storm, as if he were using it as a punching bag to practice his punches.
Han Fei waited for a while and saw that he didn't feel tired yet. He couldn't help but sigh in his heart: The third brother is indeed an athlete. His physical strength and endurance are beyond ordinary people. No wonder he can win the grand slam every time in the sports meet.
"Help..." The man's cries for help grew weaker and weaker until they faded away.
"Grandpa, if Third Brother keeps hitting like this, won't someone die?" Xiao Wu was excited at first, but later became more and more worried because his Third Brother seemed tireless and had been hitting for an hour.
"It's alright, let your third brother work up a sweat. Young people should exercise more."
