Xia Baozhu turned on the light and looked around the room. There was a door on each side of the main room leading to other rooms.
She started by looking at the door on the left, only to find it locked. With a push, the door opened.
A strong smell of urea and mold hit me.
Even with her face covered so tightly, Xia Baozhu almost vomited from the smell.
Using the light from outside, she found the pull cord and turned on the light.
The whole room was covered with layers of wheat straw, probably because they were too lazy to clean it when it got dirty, so they simply covered it with wheat straw.
This place is like a pigsty.
Xia Baozhu held her breath.
The dim light woke up three sleeping women in the corner.
Their mouths and hands were tied.
Upon seeing Xia Baozhu enter, they, like the middle-aged woman from before, displayed expressions of fear and despair.
Xia Baozhu then realized that the three people had nothing on their lower bodies; it was a trick devised by the human traffickers to prevent them from escaping.
She shushed them and left the room.
Arriving at the room on the right, and seeing the blankets lifted, this was where the middle-aged woman had been sleeping.
Xia Baozhu found another locked iron box here. She opened it and saw that it also contained a stack of banknotes of various denominations, but much less money than the previous box.
Having gained nothing else, Xia Baozhu tore up a bunch of strips of cloth and went out to tie these people together.
One of them was almost awake when Xia Baozhu slapped him unconscious again.
They searched the middle-aged woman's house and found some clothes, which they threw to the three women who were being held captive.
Xia Baozhu considered whether or not to release these witnesses first.
If they run away, what they did will become burglary, and these people will not be able to be convicted.
After thinking it over, Xia Baozhu changed into the clothes of a middle-aged woman, still covering her head, and drove away alone in a taxi.
Finding the nearest police station, Xia Baozhu threw a cloth-wrapped bag of pebbles and a note onto the window.
The glass was smashed, and the note was successfully slipped inside.
Xia Baozhu drove off in a flash.
